Overview

The TLR Silicone Shock Oil, 60WT, 810cSt, 2oz represents genuine Team Losi Racing pit accessory engineering designed specifically for RC racing competitors and enthusiasts who demand competition-proven performance. This premium silicone shock oil is part of the comprehensive TLR track supplies and pit accessories range that has earned its reputation on racing podiums across the UK and beyond. Whether you're preparing your RC buggy, RC truggy, or other nitro or electric RC car for race day, having the correct shock oil viscosity is absolutely critical to achieving optimal suspension tuning and vehicle performance.

Team Losi Racing manufactures all TLR pit accessories to the same exacting standards as their award-winning RC vehicles, ensuring that every bottle of shock oil meets the precision requirements of factory team drivers and serious competitors. The 60WT formulation at 810 centistokes provides a specific damping characteristic that allows RC racers to fine-tune their suspension setup for different track conditions, weather patterns, and driving styles. This is why you'll find TLR shock oil products prominently featured in the pit areas at RC racing events throughout the UK — experienced drivers recognise that using genuine, properly-selected shock oil is essential to maintaining competitive advantage.

Available in a convenient 2oz bottle, this silicone shock oil is part of TLR's complete range of shock oils with varying viscosities, allowing you to build a comprehensive pit bench inventory. RC racers can select from multiple weight options including 27.5WT, 30WT, 35WT, 37.5WT, 40WT, 45WT, 50WT, and this 60WT formulation, each designed to deliver different damping characteristics for suspension tuning. For any RC competitor serious about performance and consistency, stocking multiple viscosities ensures you can respond quickly to changing track conditions without compromising your vehicle's handling or suspension response.

Key Features

  • 60WT Viscosity Rating — This medium-high viscosity formulation at 810 centistokes (cSt) delivers increased damping resistance compared to lighter weight oils, making it ideal for tracks requiring firmer suspension response or for drivers preferring less aggressive suspension movement during high-speed cornering and acceleration.
  • Genuine Team Losi Racing Formula — Manufactured to the identical specifications and quality standards used by TLR Factory Team drivers at national and international competition events, ensuring you're using proven, tested shock oil that performs reliably under racing conditions.
  • Silicone-Based Construction — Silicone shock oils provide superior stability and consistency across temperature ranges compared to mineral oils, maintaining consistent damping characteristics whether racing in cool morning conditions or hot afternoon qualifying rounds.
  • 2oz Bottle Size — The convenient 2oz container is sized perfectly for pit bench use, allowing you to refill shock cartridges multiple times and maintain a dedicated supply without excessive waste or storage requirements.
  • Competition-Proven Performance — This shock oil is the same product relied upon by serious RC racers and professional competitors who demand consistent, predictable suspension damping for precise vehicle tuning and race-winning setups.
  • Part of Complete TLR Shock Oil Range — By stocking multiple TLR shock oil weights, you can systematically dial in your suspension tuning, adjusting damping rates to optimise your RC vehicle's handling for specific track surfaces and racing conditions.

Technical Performance

The TLR Silicone Shock Oil 60WT delivers a viscosity rating of 810 centistokes, positioning it as a medium-high weight formulation within the TLR shock oil product line. Silicone-based shock oils represent the industry standard for precision RC racing applications because they maintain consistent viscosity across temperature variations that occur during intense racing sessions. The 810cSt specification means this oil provides noticeably thicker damping than lighter formulations — for context, the TLR 45WT oil measures 610cSt whilst the TLR 50WT measures 710cSt, demonstrating how the 810cSt rating of this 60WT formulation sits in the firmer range of TLR's shock oil offerings. This makes the 60WT particularly suitable for RC buggies and RC truggies that require progressive damping control, for heavier vehicle setups, or for racing conditions where track grip demands more resistant suspension movement. The silicone base ensures that shock performance remains stable whether you're running multiple heats during a full day of club racing or competing in endurance-format competition. Each 2oz bottle provides sufficient shock oil for multiple shock cartridge refills, making it essential pit bench inventory for any serious RC racer who tunes their suspension between heats or makes setup adjustments throughout a racing day.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the 60WT and 810cSt specification mean on this TLR shock oil? — The 60WT refers to the weight rating whilst 810cSt (centistokes) indicates the precise viscosity measurement of the oil at a standard temperature. This medium-high viscosity makes the oil thicker and more resistant to flow compared to lighter weight options, providing increased damping force in your RC vehicle's shock absorbers. Racers select different viscosity weights to tune how quickly shocks compress and extend based on track conditions and driving style.
  • How does the 60WT compare to other TLR shock oil weights? — TLR manufactures shock oils in multiple weights including 27.5WT (294cSt), 30WT (338cSt), 35WT (420cSt), 37.5WT (468cSt), 40WT (516cSt), 45WT (610cSt), and 50WT (710cSt). The 60WT at 810cSt represents one of the firmer options in the range, suitable for tracks requiring stiffer suspension response. Lighter weights provide softer, more compliant damping, whilst heavier weights like this 60WT offer progressively more resistance to shock movement.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for all RC car types? — Yes, this TLR silicone shock oil works with any RC vehicle using standard shock cartridges, whether you're running RC buggies, RC truggies, or other RC cars. However, the specific weight selection should match your vehicle setup and track conditions — the 60WT is ideal for situations requiring firmer suspension damping rather than for all racing applications equally.
  • How much shock oil does this 2oz bottle contain? — This bottle contains 2 fluid ounces of shock oil, providing sufficient quantity for multiple shock cartridge refills depending on your shock cartridge volume. A typical shock cartridge requires only a small amount of oil, so a 2oz bottle represents practical pit bench inventory for multiple racing sessions.
  • Can I use this TLR shock oil with shocks from other manufacturers? — Yes, this is a standard silicone shock oil compatible with shock cartridges from any manufacturer. However, TLR recommends using their shock oils as part of a complete race-winning strategy, as all TLR pit accessories are engineered to the same exacting standards as their vehicles.
  • Why should I buy genuine TLR shock oil instead of generic alternatives? — Genuine TLR pit accessories, including this silicone shock oil, are manufactured to the identical specifications and quality standards used by TLR Factory Team drivers at national and international competition events. Using proven, tested products ensures consistency in your suspension setup and helps you achieve race-winning performance. Generic shock oils may vary in viscosity consistency, potentially affecting your vehicle's handling unpredictably.
