Overview
The Team Losi Racing Silicone Shock Oil, 32.5WT, 379CST, 2oz (Z-TLR74007) is an essential pit accessory for RC racers and enthusiasts who demand the very best performance from their RC vehicles. Whether you're competing at the track with a TLR buggy or truggy, or simply maintaining your RC car UK collection at home, this genuine TLR shock oil is specifically formulated to keep your suspension performing at its peak. Team Losi Racing produces competition-proven RC racing products, and their shock oil range is trusted by professional drivers and weekend bashers alike to maintain the precise damping characteristics their vehicles need.
Shock oil is one of the most critical maintenance fluids for any serious RC racer. The viscosity and consistency of your shock fluid directly affects how your suspension responds to track conditions, impacts and cornering forces. Using the correct weight of shock oil ensures your dampers work as the chassis designer intended, providing the balance between comfort over bumps and controlled body roll during aggressive cornering. This is why genuine TLR shock oil is found on pit benches across the UK and beyond — it's manufactured to the same exacting standards as all other TLR RC racing products.
At 32.5WT with a measured viscosity of 379CST, this particular variant sits in the middle range of TLR's comprehensive shock oil lineup, making it a popular choice for many applications and track conditions. The 2oz bottle provides enough fluid to service multiple shocks or to top up and maintain your existing setup.
Key Features
- Genuine Team Losi Racing Formulation — This is not a generic shock oil; it is manufactured by Team Losi Racing specifically for their RC vehicles and is trusted by TLR Factory Team drivers worldwide. Using genuine TLR products ensures compatibility and performance consistency across your entire vehicle setup.
- 32.5WT / 379CST Viscosity — The precise viscosity rating of 379 centistokes provides medium damping characteristics suitable for a wide variety of track conditions and driving styles, making this weight a versatile choice for RC racers working through setup changes.
- Professional-Grade Quality — TLR shock oils are designed by RC racing experts to perform under the demanding conditions of competitive racing, where precision and reliability are non-negotiable. This is the same product used to maintain championship-winning vehicles.
- 2oz Convenient Size — The 2oz bottle is the standard service size for shock maintenance, providing enough fluid for multiple shock services or as backup stock for your pit bench and workshop.
- Part of a Complete Range — TLR manufactures shock oils in multiple weights (from 17.5WT through to 50WT) and offers multi-packs, allowing you to fine-tune your suspension setup precisely or maintain an inventory of different viscosities for different track conditions.
- Essential Pit Accessory — Alongside other TLR pit accessories like pit mats, towels, and specialised tools, this shock oil is a must-have for anyone serious about maintaining their RC racing vehicles in peak condition.
Technical Performance
Shock oil viscosity is measured in both weight (WT) and centistokes (cSt), with 379CST at 32.5WT representing a medium-viscosity fluid ideal for balanced damping performance. The viscosity of your shock oil directly determines how quickly the suspension compresses and extends — thinner oils allow faster damper movement for plush, responsive suspension, whilst thicker oils provide greater control and stability during aggressive cornering and high-speed driving. At 379CST, this TLR formulation strikes a middle ground, making it suitable for a broad range of RC buggy and truggy applications where drivers are looking for well-balanced suspension characteristics without committing to extreme setup changes. The fluid is silicone-based, which provides excellent thermal stability and consistent performance across varying track temperatures. Whether you're racing competitive circuit racing, enjoying casual bashings with friends, or fine-tuning a ready to run RC car UK setup for optimal handling, the chemical stability of genuine TLR silicone shock oil ensures your dampers maintain their intended performance lap after lap. The 2oz bottle format is the industry standard for RC shock service and maintenance, reflecting decades of professional racing experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the 32.5WT and 379CST rating mean? — The WT (weight) and cSt (centistoke) measurements both describe the viscosity of the shock oil. 32.5WT is Team Losi Racing's proprietary weight designation, and 379CST is the measured viscosity in centistokes, a standard scientific measurement of fluid thickness. This specific viscosity provides medium damping suitable for a wide variety of track conditions and RC vehicle types.
- Which RC vehicles is this shock oil compatible with? — This TLR silicone shock oil is designed for use in TLR RC buggies, truggies, and other RC vehicles that use shock dampers. Team Losi Racing manufactures a wide range of competition-proven RC racing vehicles, and this shock oil maintains the suspension characteristics those vehicles were engineered to deliver.
- What is the difference between 32.5WT and other TLR shock oil weights? — TLR produces shock oils ranging from lighter weights like 17.5WT and 22.5WT (which provide faster, more responsive damping) through to heavier weights like 37.5WT, 40WT, 45WT and 50WT (which provide firmer, more controlled damping). The 32.5WT sits in the middle range, making it a balanced choice for many drivers and conditions. Lighter oils work better in colder conditions or for drivers preferring plush suspension; heavier oils provide more support in warmer conditions or for aggressive driving styles. Experienced RC racers often maintain an inventory of multiple weights to dial in the perfect setup for specific tracks and weather conditions.
- How often should I change the shock oil in my RC vehicle? — Regular shock oil maintenance depends on usage frequency and conditions. Competitive racers often refresh their shock oils regularly as part of race preparation to ensure consistent damping performance. Casual bashers should check and top up shock oil as part of general vehicle maintenance, particularly after running in wet or dusty conditions. Always refer to your specific vehicle's manual for detailed maintenance schedules.
- How do I apply shock oil to my RC vehicle? — Shock oil is applied directly into the shock body during shock service and maintenance. This typically involves disassembling the shock, cleaning internal components, and refilling with fresh oil to the manufacturer's specified level. Detailed shock service instructions are found in your RC vehicle's manual or TLR technical documentation.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, this shock oil is suitable for RC enthusiasts at all levels, from complete beginners discovering the world of RC for the first time to experienced competitors. However, shock maintenance and setup tuning are intermediate-level skills. If you are new to shock servicing, RC Model Shop's experienced team can provide guidance, and many online tutorials walk through the process step-by-step.
- Can I use this with ready to run RC cars? — Yes, this TLR shock oil is designed for maintenance of TLR ready to run RC vehicles. As part of normal care and maintenance of any RC car UK, shock oil servicing keeps your suspension in peak condition and ensures consistent handling performance.
