Overview
The TLR 16mm EVO Rear Shock Spring in 4.4 Green is an essential replacement or upgrade component for Team Losi Racing's 16mm EVO shock system. Designed specifically for the 8B 4.0 platform, this pair of rear shock springs delivers the precision engineering and reliability that competitive RC car enthusiasts have come to expect from Team Losi Racing. Whether you are upgrading your suspension setup, replacing worn springs, or fine-tuning your RC car's handling characteristics, these genuine Team Losi Racing springs provide the performance foundation needed for consistent lap times and predictable cornering behaviour.
For UK RC car enthusiasts running a TLR 16mm EVO-equipped buggy, having quality shock springs in various rates is crucial for optimising your vehicle's performance across different track conditions and driving styles. The 4.4 spring rate offers a specific compliance characteristic that suits intermediate to advanced track conditions, making it an ideal choice for serious RC racers who demand precision and consistency. These genuine Team Losi Racing springs are engineered to exacting standards, ensuring repeatability and longevity that budget aftermarket alternatives simply cannot match.
RC car racing in the UK has evolved significantly, and suspension tuning is now recognised as a critical element of competitive setup. The TLR 16mm EVO platform has become a popular choice among UK-based RC clubs and racers because of its modular design and the extensive range of tuning options available, including multiple spring rates like this 4.4 Green variant. Whether you compete at your local track, participate in regional championships, or simply enjoy recreational bashing with friends, having the correct springs installed makes a measurable difference to how your RC car responds to driver input.
Key Features
- Genuine Team Losi Racing Component — These springs are manufactured by Team Losi Racing, the same engineering team that designs and develops the entire 16mm EVO platform, ensuring perfect compatibility and consistent performance that matches the original design intent.
- 4.4 Spring Rate — The 4.4 rating indicates a specific spring constant that provides moderate compliance, making these springs suitable for a wide range of track surfaces and driving conditions typical of UK RC racing venues.
- Green Colour Identification — The distinctive green colour coding system used by Team Losi Racing allows you to quickly identify spring rates in your parts box, preventing setup mistakes and saving valuable time during race preparation.
- Pair Supplied — This product includes two springs, which is exactly what you need for the rear shock pair on your 16mm EVO buggy, ensuring balanced and symmetrical suspension geometry.
- 16mm EVO Compatible — These springs are specifically designed for Team Losi Racing's 16mm EVO shock system, guaranteeing a perfect fit within the shock body and correct preload characteristics.
- 8B 4.0 Platform Support — Engineered to work seamlessly with the 8B 4.0 buggy chassis, these springs integrate into the complete suspension system for optimal handling and grip.
Technical Performance
The TLR 16mm EVO Rear Shock Spring represents precision engineering at its finest. Team Losi Racing has developed a spring system that balances multiple competing demands: the springs must provide sufficient compliance to absorb track imperfections and maintain consistent tyre contact, yet they must also offer enough support to resist excessive compression during cornering and acceleration. The 4.4 rate falls into the mid-range of Team Losi Racing's spring lineup, making it versatile across different track conditions commonly encountered at UK RC clubs. The 16mm diameter shock body that houses these springs is an industry-standard size that has proven its capability in thousands of racing machines worldwide. The material composition of these springs is engineered to resist fatigue and spring sag, maintaining their designed rate over extended use. Spring rates in RC racing are measured in pounds per inch (lbs/in) of compression, and the selection of the correct rate is absolutely fundamental to achieving predictable handling. Too soft a spring will allow excessive body roll and unpredictable weight transfer, whilst too stiff a spring will reduce tyre contact and create a nervous, unpredictable driving experience. The 4.4 rate offers a balanced middle ground that allows drivers to develop consistency whilst still maintaining sufficient feedback through the steering input to make micro-adjustments during competitive sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these springs suitable for my TLR 16mm EVO buggy? — Yes, these springs are specifically designed for Team Losi Racing's 16mm EVO shock system and are compatible with the 8B 4.0 platform. They will fit directly into your existing shock bodies without any modification.
- What does the 4.4 spring rate mean? — The 4.4 rating indicates the spring constant, which determines how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. This mid-range rate provides balanced performance across various track conditions, making it suitable for both competitive racing and recreational driving.
- Why are there two springs in this package? — Your buggy has two rear shocks (left and right), and this package supplies one spring for each shock, ensuring symmetrical suspension geometry and balanced handling characteristics.
- How do I know when to replace my shock springs? — Springs should be replaced if they have lost their rate (become visibly sagging), if they have suffered physical damage, or if you notice inconsistent handling characteristics that setup changes cannot cure. Competitive racers often refresh their springs regularly to maintain consistency.
- What other spring rates are available for the 16mm EVO? — Team Losi Racing manufactures multiple spring rates in their EVO lineup, each colour-coded for easy identification. The 4.4 green springs sit in the mid-range, with softer and stiffer options available depending on your track conditions and driving preferences.
- Can I use these springs on a different Team Losi Racing model? — These springs are specifically engineered for the 16mm EVO shock body. Whilst other Team Losi Racing models may have 16mm shocks, compatibility is not guaranteed without verification. Always check your vehicle's specifications before purchasing replacement springs.
