Overview

The Team Losi Racing M4 Aluminum Serrated Nuts in Low Profile Black are precision-engineered fastening components designed specifically for competitive 1/10 scale RC buggy racing. These are replacement parts that deliver exceptional performance and reliability for Team Losi Racing 22 and 22-4 front wheel applications. Whether you are a serious RC competitor looking to upgrade your TLR 22 4.0, 22-4 2.0, 22 5.0 or 22X-4 2.0 RC buggy, or an experienced hobbyist maintaining your RC car UK setup, these aluminium nuts represent the pinnacle of fastening technology for off-road racing platforms.

The TLR336003 M4 nuts are purpose-built to eliminate common issues associated with standard fasteners. If you have ever experienced stripped or rounded bolt heads when assembling your RC buggy, these serrated nuts solve that problem entirely through intelligent engineering and premium materials. They are an essential upgrade for anyone serious about RC car performance in the UK market, whether you run on astro carpet, clay, dirt or in indoor racing facilities.

These low-profile nuts combine aesthetics with function, featuring an anodised black finish that coordinates perfectly with other TLR components whilst providing enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. Available as a set of four, they represent a straightforward bolt-on performance enhancement that can be implemented immediately on your existing TLR buggy without any modifications or special tools required.

Key Features

  • Machined Serrations — The serrated surface pattern is precisely machined into each nut, creating the ultimate bite against Team Losi Racing 22 and 22-4 front wheels. This aggressive serration pattern prevents slipping and movement during high-speed racing, ensuring your wheel remains securely fastened even under extreme acceleration, braking and cornering forces encountered in competitive RC racing environments.
  • 7mm Nut Surfaces with No Chamfers — Unlike standard nuts that feature chamfered (bevelled) edges, these TLR nuts have perfectly flat 7mm surfaces on all sides. This design provides an extremely positive fit with your nut driver, making the nuts significantly harder to round or strip compared to alternative fasteners. This means consistent, reliable assembly and disassembly across numerous racing sessions without degradation of the fastener.
  • Anodised Black Finish — The premium black anodised coating is not merely cosmetic. Anodisation provides a hard protective oxide layer that resists corrosion, weathering and UV degradation, ensuring your nuts maintain their appearance and function even after exposure to moisture, mud and the elements encountered during outdoor RC racing. The black colour is specifically selected to coordinate seamlessly with other Team Losi Racing components, maintaining visual consistency across your competition-grade buggy.
  • Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from lightweight yet durable aluminium, these nuts deliver the optimal balance between strength and weight reduction. Aluminium fasteners reduce unsprung mass compared to steel alternatives, which improves suspension performance, traction and overall handling characteristics of your RC buggy without compromising structural integrity.
  • Low Profile Design — The low-profile geometry minimises overall height whilst maintaining full functionality, reducing the visual footprint and potential for snagging on obstacles during high-speed racing manoeuvres. This compact design is especially beneficial for off-road RC buggies where ground clearance and aerodynamic considerations are critical to competitive performance.
  • Set of Four — Supplied as a matched set of four nuts, this quantity is sufficient for front wheel fastening on most Team Losi Racing buggy platforms. Four nuts allow for complete front-end refresh or rapid replacement of worn or damaged fasteners without requiring multiple purchases.

Technical Performance

The TLR M4 Aluminum Serrated Nuts represent the culmination of Team Losi Racing's extensive experience in competitive 1/10 scale off-road racing. Every aspect of their design has been refined through thousands of hours of track testing and real-world racing applications across different surfaces and conditions. The M4 specification refers to the metric bolt diameter, making these nuts compatible with the specific fastening points on TLR 22 and 22-4 chassis designs. The serrated bite pattern is engineered to specific tolerances that provide maximum grip without deforming wheel mounting surfaces, critical for maintaining wheel trueness during high-speed racing. The 7mm hex driving surfaces are machined to precision specifications, ensuring that standard metric nut drivers engage perfectly without the slippage and wear that occurs with chamfered alternatives. The anodised black coating adds measurable durability—anodising creates a hard ceramic-like oxide layer that is significantly more durable than painted alternatives and will not chip, peel or require touch-ups after intensive racing use. The lightweight aluminium construction means these nuts contribute negligible mass to your RC buggy whilst providing structural rigidity comparable to heavier alternatives. When combined with precision engineering and superior materials, these fasteners deliver the reliability demanded by serious RC racing competitors across the United Kingdom who need equipment they can absolutely trust during crucial competition moments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these M4 nuts compatible with my Team Losi Racing 22 buggy? — Yes, these TLR336003 M4 nuts are specifically designed as replacement parts for Team Losi Racing 22 and 22-4 front wheel applications. They are listed as compatible with the TLR03013, TLR03014, TLR03007, TLR03017, TLR03016, TLR03022, TLR03018, TLR03012, TLR-1265, TLR-1264 and TLR03026 buggy models. If you own any recent TLR 22 generation buggy—whether a 4.0, 5.0, or 4WD variant—these nuts will fit and function perfectly.
  • What makes serrated nuts better than standard nuts for RC racing? — The machined serrations create an aggressive gripping pattern that prevents the nut from loosening due to vibration and shock loads experienced during high-speed off-road racing. Standard smooth-sided nuts can vibrate loose over time, potentially causing wheels to become unbalanced or detach. The serrated design eliminates this risk entirely, ensuring your wheels remain securely fastened throughout entire racing sessions without requiring constant re-checking and adjustment.
  • Why do these nuts have no chamfers like other fasteners? — Chamfered edges on standard nuts are bevelled to make initial engagement easier, but this design comes at a cost—the bevels reduce the contact surface area between the nut driver and the nut itself. This causes the driver to slip on the bevel edge, leading to rounding of the nut and eventual inability to tighten or remove the fastener. The TLR nuts feature completely flat 7mm surfaces on all six sides, providing maximum driver engagement, maximum grip and virtually zero risk of stripping or rounding even after repeated assembly and disassembly cycles across an entire racing season.
  • Are these nuts suitable for beginners building their first RC buggy? — Absolutely. Whilst these nuts are spec-level components used by competitive racers, they benefit any RC enthusiast assembling or maintaining a Team Losi Racing buggy. Beginners especially benefit from the superior grip and reduced risk of stripping, as inexperienced builders may be more prone to over-tightening fasteners. The anodised finish also means these nuts look visually professional on any TLR buggy, whether you are a newcomer to RC racing or an experienced competitor.
  • What is the difference between these TLR serrated nuts and generic M4 alternatives? — Genuine Team Losi Racing nuts are engineered specifically for TLR buggy platforms, with serration patterns, surface finishes and dimensional tolerances optimised for maximum performance. Generic aftermarket alternatives may not provide the same level of bite, durability or aesthetic coordination with other TLR components. Furthermore, using genuine manufacturer parts ensures compatibility and proper fitment, which is critical for racing reliability where equipment failure can cost you competition points and prize money.
  • Will the anodised finish wear off with use? — Anodising is a chemical process that converts the aluminium surface into a hard oxide ceramic layer bonded at the molecular level to the parent metal. Unlike paint or plating, anodising does not chip or peel off with normal use. The black anodised finish on these TLR nuts will remain consistent through many seasons of racing, assembly and disassembly without requiring maintenance or touch-ups.
