Overview

The TLR Front Springs in Sky Blue are genuine Team Losi Racing replacement parts designed to deliver precise suspension tuning for competitive 1/10 scale 2WD buggy racing. These low-frequency 12mm front springs are engineered to provide the responsive handling and consistency that serious RC racers demand on both carpet and dirt surfaces. Whether you're competing in carpet racing events or tackling clay tracks, these springs offer the performance upgrade you need to fine-tune your buggy's suspension geometry and achieve optimal performance across varying track conditions.

As a replacement or optional upgrade part for Team Losi Racing's celebrated 22 Series buggies, these front springs are manufactured to the same exacting standards as the original equipment, ensuring compatibility and reliability. The sky blue colour makes them instantly recognisable on your RC car UK setup, while the low-frequency rating is specifically engineered for buggies that demand softer spring rates for improved traction and predictable handling during competitive racing sessions.

These springs are an essential part of any serious RC racer's toolkit. Whether you're running a TLR 22 4.0, 22 5.0, or 22X-4 ELITE buggy, having a selection of different spring rates allows you to dial in your suspension to match track conditions, ambient temperature, and your driving style. RC hobbyists throughout the UK trust Team Losi Racing components for their precision engineering and proven track performance.

Key Features

  • Low Frequency Rating — The low-frequency specification means these springs have a softer rate compared to standard springs, which translates to better traction on bumpy or uneven surfaces and more forgiving handling characteristics during racing, making them ideal for drivers who want to prioritise grip and predictability over speed.
  • 12mm Diameter — The 12mm size is specifically designed for Team Losi Racing front shock towers and suspension geometry, ensuring perfect fitment and consistent performance without modification or adapter parts.
  • Sky Blue Colour — The distinctive sky blue finish makes these springs easily identifiable on your buggy, helping you keep track of your suspension tuning setup during practice sessions and competitive racing events.
  • Genuine TLR Component — These are authentic Team Losi Racing parts manufactured to original equipment specifications, guaranteeing compatibility and performance with all supported 1/10 scale 2WD buggy models.
  • Pair Included — You receive two springs in this package, providing a complete front suspension refresh or allowing you to maintain a backup set for multi-round racing competitions.

Technical Performance

These front springs represent the precision engineering that Team Losi Racing is renowned for throughout the competitive RC racing community. The low-frequency characteristic is critical for 1/10 scale 2WD buggy racing, where suspension compliance directly impacts traction, weight transfer, and overall chassis responsiveness. At 12mm diameter with the low-frequency rating, these springs are engineered to compress and extend gradually through the suspension travel, absorbing track imperfections and maintaining consistent weight distribution across all four tyres. This performance characteristic is particularly valuable when racing on dirt, clay, or uneven carpet surfaces where bump absorption is essential for maintaining drive traction. The springs are manufactured from high-quality spring steel with consistent rates, ensuring that both front springs perform identically and maintain predictable handling balance left to right. For drivers running Team Losi Racing's 22 Series buggies—including the TLR 22 4.0 2WD Buggy, the TLR 22 5.0 2WD Buggy in either AC carpet or DC dirt configurations, the elite DC ELITE variant, or the specialist spec racing kit—these springs represent a direct upgrade path for optimising suspension geometry and performance tuning.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a low-frequency spring and why would I need it for my RC buggy? — A low-frequency spring has a softer rate than standard springs, meaning it compresses more easily under load. This characteristic improves traction on bumpy or uneven terrain by allowing the suspension to absorb track imperfections more effectively. Low-frequency springs are preferred by many RC racers who prioritise grip and predictable handling over maximum speed, making them ideal for dirt and clay track racing where bump absorption is critical.
  • Which Team Losi Racing buggies are these springs compatible with? — These front springs fit the TLR 22 4.0 2WD Buggy Race Kit, the TLR 22 5.0 2WD Buggy in both AC Race Kit and DC Race Kit variants, the TLR 22 5.0 DC ELITE Race Kit, the TLR 22 5.0 2WD Spec Racing Kit, the TLR 22 5.0 DC Race Roller, and the TLR 22X-4 ELITE 4WD Buggy Race Kit. Verify fitment with your specific buggy model before ordering.
  • Are these springs sold as replacement parts or optional upgrades? — These springs function as both. They serve as direct replacement parts for worn or damaged original springs, and they also operate as optional upgrade components that allow you to experiment with different suspension tuning rates to optimise your buggy's performance for specific track conditions and racing styles.
  • What is the difference between low-frequency and standard springs? — Low-frequency springs have a softer rate and longer travel compared to standard springs, making them more compliant over bumpy surfaces. Standard springs are typically stiffer, providing faster weight transfer and more responsive handling on smooth tracks. The choice between low and standard rates depends on your track surface and driving preference.
  • Do I need any tools to install these springs? — Installation typically requires standard RC tool kits including hex wrenches and shock tools appropriate for your buggy's suspension design. Refer to your Team Losi Racing buggy manual for specific installation procedures and torque specifications.
