Overview
The Team Losi Racing Front Springs in Purple with Low Frequency 12mm specification represent a precision suspension upgrade for competitive 1/10 scale 2WD RC buggy racing. These replacement springs are engineered to deliver enhanced handling characteristics on both carpet and dirt surfaces, making them an ideal choice for serious RC enthusiasts who demand performance upgrades for their TLR models. Whether you're preparing your RC car UK competition setup or fine-tuning your weekend basher, these low frequency springs provide the adjustability serious racers need to achieve their optimal handling balance.
As optional replacement parts rather than stock components, these purple springs allow you to experiment with different suspension responses and track conditions. The 12mm diameter specification ensures compatibility with Team Losi Racing's proven suspension geometry, whilst the low frequency rating targets softer, more compliant spring characteristics. For UK RC hobbyists invested in maximising their buggy's performance envelope, these springs represent a fundamental tuning component in your suspension arsenal.
Compatible with multiple Team Losi Racing 22-series 2WD buggy platforms, these springs deliver consistent, repeatable performance across various racing environments. The colour-coded purple finish makes spring identification quick and easy during setup changes and maintenance routines on the track or at home.
Key Features
- Low Frequency Rating — Low frequency springs provide a softer, more compliant suspension response that absorbs track imperfections effectively, allowing better traction and more predictable handling through technical sections of your racing circuit.
- 12mm Diameter — The 12mm specification ensures perfect fitment and compatibility with Team Losi Racing 22-series suspension designs, maintaining the precise geometry TLR engineers intended for optimal weight transfer and cornering performance.
- Purple Colour Coding — The distinctive purple finish allows instant visual identification of your spring specification during pit setup changes, preventing costly mistakes when swapping between different spring rates and frequency ranges during race day.
- Pair Included — Two springs are supplied in this package, providing both front damper springs needed for complete front suspension setup, eliminating the need to purchase multiple packs for a single vehicle.
- Optional Replacement Parts — These springs function as upgrade components, allowing experienced racers to fine-tune suspension behaviour beyond stock specifications and adapt to varying track conditions throughout the racing season.
Technical Performance
The Team Losi Racing Front Springs deliver the refined engineering quality expected from a manufacturer with proven competition pedigree. The low frequency rating delivers a softer spring curve that excels in absorbing track undulations and maintaining consistent tyre contact during aggressive cornering. The 12mm diameter specification integrates seamlessly with Team Losi Racing's 22-series 2WD buggy platform, which encompasses the TLR03013, TLR03017, TLR03016, TLR03022, TLR03018, TLR03012, and TLR03026 models. These springs are classified as Shocks and Shock Parts, forming critical components of your suspension tuning strategy. The purple colour coding provides immediate visual identification in your pit box, essential when managing multiple spring rates throughout a competitive season. Whether you're racing on carpet surfaces with your astro buggy or tackling dirt and clay tracks with your competition setup, these springs facilitate the suspension adjustments necessary to maintain competitive pace across diverse racing environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Team Losi Racing models are these springs compatible with? — These springs are confirmed as replacement or optional parts for the TLR03013 1/10 22 4.0 2WD Buggy Race Kit, TLR03017 1/10 22 5.0 2WD Buggy AC Race Kit for Astro/Carpet surfaces, TLR03016 1/10 22 5.0 2WD Buggy DC Race Kit for Dirt/Clay surfaces, TLR03022 1/10 22 5.0 2WD DC ELITE Race Kit for Dirt/Clay, TLR03018 1/10 22 5.0 2WD Spec Racing Kit for Dirt/Clay, TLR03012 1/10 22 5.0 DC Race Roller 2WD Buggy for Dirt/Clay, and TLR03026 1/10 22X-4 ELITE 4X4 Buggy Race Kit.
- What does low frequency mean for RC buggy springs? — Low frequency springs provide a softer, more compliant suspension response compared to high frequency springs. This means they absorb track imperfections more effectively, maintain better tyre contact during cornering, and deliver more predictable handling through technical sections. They're particularly valuable on rough or undulating tracks where compliance matters more than stiffness.
- Are these springs suitable for beginners? — These springs are replacement and optional parts intended for experienced racers who understand suspension tuning. If you're new to RC car racing, start with your TLR's stock springs to understand baseline handling before experimenting with different rates. Beginners benefit from learning stock setup first before investing in upgrade components.
- What is the difference between low frequency and high frequency springs? — Low frequency springs (like these purple springs) provide softer, more compliant suspension response ideal for rough or bumpy tracks. High frequency springs deliver stiffer response suited to smooth, fast tracks. The choice depends on your track surface and desired handling balance. These purple low frequency springs excel on uneven terrain.
- Why are these springs colour coded purple? — The purple colour coding provides instant visual identification during pit setup changes and maintenance. When managing multiple spring rates throughout a competitive season, colour coding prevents costly mistakes and speeds up spring installation when you need to adjust suspension tuning between qualifying rounds and finals.
