Technical Performance
The driveshaft and stuffing tube assembly represents Pro Boat's commitment to engineering durable components that can handle the stresses of RC boat operation. The stuffing tube is a critical seal component that prevents water from entering the driveline cavity whilst allowing the shaft to rotate freely. This assembly is manufactured to tight tolerances to ensure smooth power transmission from the motor to the impeller without vibration or wobble. The materials and construction methods used in this component are designed to withstand the torque loads and rotational forces generated by brushless motors commonly used in modern RC boats. Proper maintenance of the driveline, including regular re-greasing with marine grease and inspection for wear, helps extend the life of this component and ensures your River Jet Boat continues to perform reliably. The stuffing tube seal is particularly important in preventing salt water or contaminated fresh water from entering the driveline, which can cause rust and corrosion of internal bearings and shafts. By using this genuine replacement part, you're ensuring that your boat's propulsion system remains optimised for performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the PRB282040 driveshaft compatible with other Pro Boat models? — This driveshaft and stuffing tube is specifically engineered for the 23-inch River Jet Boat RTR. Whilst Pro Boat manufactures various jet boat models, each has its own driveline specifications. Always verify your model number before ordering to ensure correct fitment.
- How often should I replace the driveshaft and stuffing tube? — These components are designed to last for many hours of operation. However, they should be replaced if you notice water leaking into the driveline, excessive vibration, or visible wear and tear. Regular maintenance with marine grease can extend the life of these parts significantly.
- What tools do I need to install this part? — You'll need basic RC tools including hex drivers and possibly a coupler alignment tool. The River Jet Boat manual provides detailed installation instructions. Most users can complete the installation in under an hour with standard hobby tools.
- Why is the stuffing tube seal so important? — The stuffing tube acts as a critical barrier preventing water from entering the driveline cavity. Water ingress can cause rust, corrosion and damage to bearings and internal components, leading to complete driveline failure. A good seal extends the life of your entire jet pump system.
- Can I use this part with upgraded motors? — The driveshaft and stuffing tube are compatible with standard brushless motors commonly used in the River Jet Boat RTR. If you're installing a significantly higher-torque motor, consult the River Jet Boat manual to ensure the driveline can handle the increased power output.
- What should I do if water is leaking into my driveline? — If you notice water in the driveline cavity, it's likely the stuffing tube seal has failed or the component has developed a crack. This replacement assembly should resolve the issue. After installation, run the boat in shallow water and inspect for leaks before extended operation.
