These bearing inserts represent essential maintenance and upgrade parts for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand reliability and durability from their vehicles. Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend basher, or serious hobbyist, these gearbox inserts ensure your Losi RC buggy maintains optimal performance and drivetrain integrity through countless runs and races.
Manufactured by Losi, a recognised leader in RC vehicle engineering, these bearing inserts are crafted from high-durability aluminium that allows them to be used for the life of your vehicle without degradation. The inserts feature hard anodized coating to improve durability and provide excellent resistance against scratching, ensuring they maintain their integrity even during intense use. This is a genuine OEM Losi part that direct bolt-fits into your 8B or 8T 2.0 gearbox without modification, making installation straightforward for RC car UK enthusiasts of all skill levels.
These bearing inserts are an important component for maintaining your RC buggy's rear gearbox assembly. They work by securely housing the bearing system that supports the drive shaft rotation, and their keyed design prevents any unwanted rotation that could lead to catastrophic drivetrain failure. For anyone serious about keeping their Losi RC buggy running smoothly and reliably, these inserts are an essential spare part to have on hand.
Key Features
- High-Durability Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from premium aluminium, these inserts are built to last the entire operational life of your Losi RC buggy, providing consistent performance through hundreds of runs without material degradation or failure.
- Hard Anodized Finish — The hard anodized coating significantly improves durability and provides excellent resistance against scratching, corrosion and wear, ensuring the inserts maintain their appearance and functional integrity even during intense racing or bashing sessions.
- Left and Right Side Keyed Design — These inserts feature a precision-engineered keyed system that keys into the gearbox, specifically designed to disallow any rotation of the inserts that could cause drivetrain failure, ensuring absolute stability and reliability during operation.
- Laser-Etched Identification — Each insert is laser-etched to clearly designate it for 2.0 gearboxes only, eliminating any confusion and ensuring you install the correct parts on your specific Losi model.
- Included Shimming Options — The inserts come with 0.1mm and 0.25mm shims included for differential shimming, allowing you to fine-tune your gearbox clearances and adjust the differential preload to achieve optimal performance characteristics.
- OEM Genuine Quality — As an official Losi part, this component meets the manufacturer's exact specifications and quality standards, guaranteeing perfect fitment and reliable performance.
Technical Performance
The LOS Rear Gearbox Bearing Inserts are engineered with precision manufacturing to ensure they perform reliably within the demanding environment of a high-performance RC buggy gearbox. The aluminium material choice provides an excellent balance between weight savings and structural rigidity, crucial for maintaining dimensional accuracy and preventing flex that could compromise bearing seating. The hard anodized surface treatment adds a protective layer that resists wear from continuous bearing rotation and gearbox contact, extending the service life of these critical components. The keyed design is particularly important in RC applications where vibration and shock loading during aggressive driving could otherwise cause component migration. The included shims (0.1mm and 0.25mm) allow differential shimming adjustments, which is essential for optimizing your gearbox preload. This attention to detail in both material selection and design makes these inserts suitable for both casual weekend RC enthusiasts and competitive racers who demand consistent, reliable performance from their Losi 8B or 8T 2.0 buggy.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Losi models are these bearing inserts compatible with? — These inserts are specifically designed for Losi 8B 2.0 and Losi 8T 2.0 RC buggies. The laser-etched identification clearly marks them for 2.0 gearboxes only, so you must verify your model before purchasing to ensure proper fitment and performance.
- Why do I need replacement bearing inserts for my Losi RC buggy? — Bearing inserts are critical components that house and support the rear drive shaft bearings. Over time, through normal use, racing, or after impacts, these inserts can wear, become damaged, or develop play that compromises drivetrain performance. Replacing them restores proper bearing support and eliminates potential drivetrain failure points.
- What do the included shims do? — The 0.1mm and 0.25mm shims are used for differential shimming, which allows you to adjust the preload and clearance in your gearbox. Proper shimming optimises gear mesh and differential operation, which is essential for smooth power delivery and reduced noise during operation.
- Are these difficult to install? — Installation requires basic mechanical knowledge and tools. The inserts key directly into the gearbox, which prevents installation errors. Most RC enthusiasts with experience maintaining their RC buggies will find installation straightforward, though consulting your Losi 8B or 8T 2.0 manual is recommended for specific procedures and torque specifications.
- How do I know if my bearing inserts need replacement? — Signs that bearing inserts may need replacement include excessive play or looseness in the rear drive shaft, grinding or unusual noises from the gearbox, or visible damage to the inserts themselves if you can access them during maintenance.
- Is this an official Losi part? — Yes, this is a genuine OEM Losi part manufactured to the exact specifications required for your 8B or 8T 2.0 buggy, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal performance.
