Technical Performance
The Axial Wild Boar Driveshaft Set is engineered with precision manufacturing to ensure reliable drivetrain performance across the full range of SCX10 III scale RC crawler platforms. As a core drivetrain component, the driveshaft assembly is responsible for transmitting rotational power from your vehicle's transmission to the axles and wheels. Axial's engineering focuses on durability and smooth power delivery, critical factors when navigating rocky terrain, steep climbs, and technical obstacles that demand consistent traction and responsive handling. The driveshaft set is designed to withstand the torque loads generated by brushless and brushed motors commonly used in SCX10 III rock crawlers, maintaining structural integrity through repeated impacts and high-stress manoeuvres. Quality materials and precision tolerances ensure minimal backlash in the drivetrain, translating motor power efficiently to wheel rotation without unnecessary vibration or noise. For UK-based RC enthusiasts running their SCX10 III crawlers on British terrain ranging from limestone quarries to woodland trails, this genuine Axial component provides the reliability and performance consistency required for serious off-road RC adventures.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Axial SCX10 III models is this driveshaft set compatible with? — The Axial Wild Boar Driveshaft Set is compatible with the following SCX10 III models: Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 RTR, 1/10 Base Camp 4X4 Rock Crawler RTR (white and grey variants), 1/10 Coyote 4X4 RTR brushed rock crawler (silver and blue), 1/10 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR brushed rock crawler, 1/10 SCX10 III 4WD Rock Crawler Builders Kit, 1/10 SCX10 III Base Camp 4WD Rock Crawler Builders Kit, and the 1/10 SCX10 III Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR in black.
- What does a driveshaft set do in an RC rock crawler? — The driveshaft set transmits rotational power from your motor and transmission to the wheels, enabling your RC crawler to move forward and backward. Over time, driveshafts can wear, develop play, or break due to impacts and torque loads, which reduces efficiency and responsiveness. Replacing the driveshaft set with a genuine Axial component restores factory performance levels and reliability.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement component for existing Axial SCX10 III models, so it's most relevant for owners already running one of these platforms who need to perform maintenance or repair. If you're new to RC crawling, you'll likely want to purchase a complete RTR (Ready to Run) SCX10 III first, then use this spare part for future maintenance.
- How difficult is installation? — As a genuine OEM replacement part, the driveshaft set installs directly into your SCX10 III with no modifications required. Installation difficulty depends on your mechanical experience, but the straightforward design means even those relatively new to RC vehicle maintenance can typically handle the job with basic tools and an instruction manual.
- Is this part affected by weather conditions? — Driveshaft components are internal drivetrain parts, so they're generally protected from direct weather exposure. However, when running your RC crawler in wet conditions or muddy terrain, regular cleaning and maintenance of the drivetrain is recommended to prevent dirt accumulation and ensure continued smooth operation.
