Technical Performance
The AXIAL Thin Hex Nut M3 Black represents precision engineering in fastener design. These M3 nuts feature a thin hex profile that distinguishes them from standard hex nuts, allowing them to function effectively in applications where space constraints are a consideration. The black finish is applied to resist corrosion and maintain aesthetic appeal, which is important for RC enthusiasts who take pride in the appearance of their vehicles. The M3 metric specification ensures compatibility with a wide range of Axial RC components, including suspension linkages, chassis components, and drivetrain elements. The thin design means these nuts will fit into restricted areas without causing interference with other components, making them ideal for precision RC work. Each nut in this ten-piece pack is manufactured to consistent tolerances, ensuring reliable thread engagement and secure fastening across multiple installations. The quality of Axial spare parts is recognised throughout the RC community, and these nuts exemplify that commitment to excellence.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an M3 thin hex nut and why would I need one for my RC car UK setup? — An M3 thin hex nut is a metric fastener with a 3mm thread diameter and a thinner profile than standard hex nuts. This makes them ideal for RC vehicles where space is tight and components need to fit closely together. If you're maintaining an Axial RC crawler, buggy, or truck, you'll likely encounter multiple M3 fastening points, making spare nuts essential for repairs and upgrades.
- Are these compatible with all Axial RC models? — The M3 size is used across many Axial RC vehicles, particularly in suspension systems, chassis components, and drivetrain assemblies. However, compatibility depends on your specific model, so we recommend checking your vehicle's parts diagram or contacting our team at RC Model Shop if you're unsure whether these nuts are suitable for your particular Axial RC car UK.
- Why would I choose thin hex nuts over standard ones? — Thin hex nuts are engineered for applications where clearance is limited. In RC vehicle construction, components are densely packed, and a standard-thickness nut might interfere with adjacent parts or create unnecessary bulk. The thin profile allows the nut to sit flush in confined spaces without compromising structural integrity.
- What is the black finish and how durable is it? — The black finish is an anodised or painted coating that provides corrosion resistance and enhances the visual appeal of your RC setup. This finish helps protect the underlying metal from oxidation and wear, particularly important if your RC car UK is used outdoors or exposed to moisture. The finish maintains its appearance throughout the life of the fastener.
- How many fasteners should I keep in stock? — This ten-piece pack provides a useful reserve for maintenance and repairs. Most RC enthusiasts keep multiple spare packs available, as these fasteners are small, lightweight, and inexpensive relative to the downtime they prevent if you run short during a build or repair session.
- Can I use these nuts with different brands of RC cars? — Whilst these are Axial Racing components, the M3 specification is industry-standard. However, for guaranteed compatibility and optimal performance, we recommend using them with Axial RC vehicles. If you have RC cars from other manufacturers, check the fastener specifications for your models before purchasing.
