Overview
The AXIAL Steel Links M4x80mm SCX10 II (2) Z-AX31468 are genuine replacement parts designed specifically for the Axial SCX10 II platform, one of the most popular 1/10 scale RC crawlers in the UK RC hobby market. These heavy-duty steel links are essential components for maintaining peak performance in your scale crawler, whether you're tackling rocky terrain, steep inclines or technical trail sections. As a UK RC enthusiast, you'll appreciate the robust construction and precision engineering that Axial brings to their spare parts, ensuring your SCX10 II continues to perform at its best.
These steel links serve dual purposes in your RC crawler setup, functioning as both steering links and panhard bar components. The substantial M4 x 80mm threaded plated steel rod construction means they'll withstand the demanding forces of genuine off-road RC crawling without bending or deforming. Whether you're a competitive racer looking to maintain your crawler in race condition, or a weekend basher who enjoys pushing their RC car to the limit, having quality replacement links on hand is essential for keeping your SCX10 II in peak condition. The genuine Axial specification ensures perfect fitment and performance with your existing suspension geometry.
For anyone running an Axial SCX10 II, these replacement steel links represent genuine manufacturer parts that maintain the integrity of your suspension and steering systems. Investing in quality OEM parts like these is far more cost-effective than replacing damaged suspension geometry or dealing with poor handling caused by worn or damaged linkage components. Stock these as essential spares in your RC maintenance kit.
Key Features
- M4 x 80mm Threaded Plated Steel Rod — The substantial M4 diameter and 80mm length provide a strong, rigid connection point for suspension and steering geometry, ensuring your SCX10 II maintains precise steering response and suspension geometry even under extreme off-road conditions that would damage inferior linkage materials.
- Dual Purpose Design — These links function effectively as steering links and panhard bar components, making them versatile replacement parts that address critical suspension and steering functions in your RC crawler setup, reducing the number of different spare part types you need to stock.
- Replacement for Steering Link and Panhard Bar — Specifically engineered as direct replacements for factory steering link and panhard bar functions on the SCX10 II platform, ensuring you can quickly restore full suspension performance without modification or adaptation of your RC crawler.
- Large M4 Rod Ends — The substantial M4 rod end size (AX31186) provides enhanced durability compared to smaller linkage components, allowing these steel links to handle the dynamic forces of crawling, jumping and aggressive driving without fatigue or failure over extended use periods.
- Strong Steel Construction for Suspension and Steering — The robust steel material provides significantly greater strength and rigidity than plastic linkages, essential for maintaining precise suspension geometry and steering response during the demanding demands of 1/10 scale RC crawling across rocks, logs and varied terrain.
- Genuine Axial Parts — These are manufacturer-approved OEM spare parts engineered and tested by Axial specifically for the SCX10 II platform, guaranteeing perfect compatibility, precise fitment and performance that matches the original factory specifications.
Technical Performance
The AXIAL Steel Links M4x80mm represent precision engineering designed specifically for 1/10 scale RC crawler applications. The M4 x 80mm threaded plated steel rod construction provides exceptional rigidity and strength, preventing the deflection and flex that would compromise suspension geometry during technical crawling or aggressive bashing. The plated steel finish offers corrosion resistance, important for UK RC enthusiasts who may expose their crawlers to wet conditions, muddy trails and salt-laden environments. The substantial diameter and length ensure these links maintain precise geometry throughout the full range of suspension travel, essential for maintaining steering accuracy and suspension geometry consistency. Compatible with the Axial 1/10 SCX10 II Deadbolt 4WD Brushed RTR and other SCX10 II variants, these genuine Axial parts integrate seamlessly with your existing suspension setup without requiring modification or adaptation. The large M4 rod end connections provide robust attachment points that won't strip, crack or fail under the dynamic loads generated by crawling, climbing and aggressive driving. Engineers designing scale crawlers understand that suspension geometry directly impacts handling precision, climbing ability and obstacle-clearing performance, making quality linkage components critical to overall RC vehicle performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these AXIAL Steel Links compatible with my SCX10 II? — Yes, these M4x80mm steel links are specifically engineered as genuine replacement parts for the Axial SCX10 II platform. They function as both steering link and panhard bar components, making them essential replacements if your original links become bent, damaged or worn during crawling or bashing.
- What exactly do these steel links do in my RC crawler? — These links serve critical functions in your suspension and steering systems. As steering links, they translate steering input from your radio receiver to your front wheels, whilst as panhard bars they maintain lateral suspension geometry and prevent chassis roll during cornering and climbing. Damaged or bent links cause poor steering response and unstable suspension geometry.
- Why should I choose steel links over plastic alternatives? — Steel construction provides significantly greater rigidity, strength and durability compared to plastic linkage components. Steel resists bending and flexing under the dynamic loads of crawling, ensuring your suspension geometry remains precise throughout suspension travel. This maintains steering accuracy, climbing ability and overall handling consistency that plastic links cannot match, particularly during aggressive driving or technical terrain.
- Do I need any special tools to install these replacement links? — Installation requires standard RC tools including screwdrivers and hex keys to disconnect the old links and secure the new ones. The M4 threaded rods connect via standard rod ends that use conventional fasteners found in most RC tool kits. Consult your SCX10 II manual for detailed installation guidance.
- Can these links be used as upgrades or just replacements? — These are genuine Axial replacement parts designed to factory specifications for the SCX10 II. If your crawler is standard, replacing worn or damaged factory links with these genuine parts restores original performance. Some enthusiasts use them as part of broader suspension upgrades, though they should be treated as direct OEM replacements for compatibility and geometry accuracy.
- Are these suitable for competitive crawling or just casual bashing? — These genuine Axial steel links suit both competitive and casual RC crawling. The robust M4 construction handles the technical demands of competitive courses, whilst the rigid steel construction also makes them ideal for weekend bashers who may bend or damage inferior plastic linkages through aggressive driving over rocky terrain.
