Overview

The ARRMA Set Screw M6x6mm (4) Z-ARA724606 is an essential replacement part for RC enthusiasts maintaining and repairing their ARRMA RC vehicles. These precision-engineered set screws are critical fastening components designed to secure various mechanical assemblies on your RC car, buggy, or truck. Whether you're a seasoned RC basher in the UK or someone new to the RC hobby, having spare set screws on hand ensures you can keep your RC model in perfect working condition without unnecessary downtime. ARRMA is recognised as a leading manufacturer of high-performance RC vehicles, and their genuine replacement parts maintain the same quality standards as their complete models.

Set screws, also known as grub screws, are fundamental to RC vehicle assembly and maintenance. These small but mighty fasteners are used throughout RC cars to hold gears, shafts, and other components securely in place. The ARRMA Set Screw M6x6mm specification makes this pack particularly useful for owners of compatible ARRMA vehicles, including popular models like the ARRMA 1/5 Outcast 4X4 8S BLX EXB Brushless Stunt Truck. Keeping a supply of genuine ARRMA fasteners means you're always ready for maintenance, repairs, or custom modifications to your RC setup.

This pack of four set screws represents genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, ensuring perfect compatibility and fit. For RC enthusiasts who take pride in maintaining their equipment properly, investing in authentic ARRMA replacement parts is a smart decision that extends the lifespan of your RC investment.

Key Features

  • Pack of Four Screws — You receive four M6x6mm set screws in this single pack, giving you multiple replacement options or the ability to replace all four screws if your RC vehicle uses them in pairs or sets. Having extras means you'll always have spares when you need them.
  • M6 Machine Thread Standard — These screws feature M6 machine thread specification, which is a widely used metric standard in RC vehicle manufacturing. This standardised sizing ensures precise fit and secure fastening without cross-threading or damage to receiving components.
  • 6mm Length — The 6mm length is specifically engineered for ARRMA applications where shallow fastening depth is required. This prevents over-tightening and ensures components sit flush without interference or protrusion.
  • Grub Head Design — The grub head (also called a socket head or cap screw head) provides an internal hex socket for precise tightening using an Allen key or hex driver. This design allows better torque control and prevents the screw head from catching on surrounding components during operation.
  • Hex Driver Type — The internal hex socket requires a standard hex (Allen) key for installation and removal. This is the preferred driver type for RC fasteners as it allows precise, controlled tightening without damaging the screw head.
  • Black Colour Finish — The black finish matches the aesthetic of most modern ARRMA vehicles and provides corrosion resistance. This finish is attractive and functional, protecting the steel from oxidation and rust.
  • Genuine ARRMA Manufacturing — These are authentic ARRMA replacement parts, not aftermarket alternatives. Genuine parts guarantee compatibility, proper material composition, and longevity that matches your RC vehicle's engineering standards.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Set Screw M6x6mm represents precision engineering focused on reliability and durability in demanding RC vehicle environments. As a grub screw designed specifically for ARRMA RC cars and trucks, this fastener is manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure it seats perfectly in the receiving threaded hole without play or looseness. The M6 machine thread specification is a metric standard that ensures compatibility across ARRMA's product range, particularly beneficial for RC enthusiasts building or modifying multiple vehicles. The 6mm length is critical for shallow fastening applications where components must be held securely without protruding through the opposite side of the assembly. The hex socket head design is superior to slotted heads for RC applications because it distributes pressure more evenly across the driver bit, reducing the risk of stripping or damaging the screw head during tightening and removal. The black finish provides not only aesthetic consistency with modern ARRMA stunt trucks, rock crawlers, and buggies but also adds a protective layer against corrosion—particularly important if your RC vehicle is exposed to moisture or operated in challenging outdoor conditions typical of UK weather. These set screws are commonly used throughout ARRMA vehicles for gear retention, shaft securing, and securing various mechanical assemblies where vibration resistance and precision fit are essential for reliable performance during high-speed runs or extreme driving conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an M6x6mm set screw and what does it do? — An M6x6mm set screw, also known as a grub screw, is a small cylindrical fastener with an internal hex socket (Allen key fitting). The M6 refers to the metric thread diameter of 6mm, and the 6mm is the overall length of the screw. Set screws are designed to hold components like gears, pulleys, and shafts securely in place without protruding. In RC vehicles, they prevent critical components from rotating or shifting during operation, maintaining alignment and performance.
  • Which ARRMA RC vehicles use M6x6mm set screws? — The ARRMA 1/5 Outcast 4X4 8S BLX EXB Brushless Stunt Truck is specifically listed as compatible with this part (C-ARA5810V2T1). However, many other ARRMA vehicles from their extensive range of 1/10, 1/8, and 1/5 scale models may use identical M6x6mm fasteners. If you own an ARRMA vehicle and need replacement fasteners, checking your manual or contacting an authorised ARRMA retailer will confirm compatibility with your specific model.
  • How often do set screws need replacing on RC cars? — Set screws rarely need replacing if properly maintained, as they're designed for durability. However, they may need tightening if they become loose due to vibration from driving, or replacement if stripped or damaged. Regular maintenance checks every few months of active RC use are recommended to ensure fasteners remain tight and secure.
  • What tools do I need to install these screws? — You'll need a hex key (Allen key) or a small hex driver tool to fit the internal socket of the grub screw head. The appropriate size hex key for M6 set screws is typically 3mm or 4mm—check your ARRMA manual or the receiving hole to determine the correct size before purchasing a new hex key if you don't already own one.
  • Are these genuine ARRMA parts? — Yes, these are genuine ARRMA replacement parts manufactured to OEM specifications. The part number Z-ARA724606 and the ARRMA branding guarantee authenticity. Purchasing genuine parts ensures perfect fit, proper material quality, and compatibility with your RC vehicle.
  • Can I use these screws for other RC brands? — While the M6x6mm specification is a metric standard, ARRMA set screws are engineered specifically for ARRMA applications. Using them on other brands may work for the same size threaded holes, but genuine parts from each manufacturer are always recommended for optimal compatibility and reliability.
