Overview

The ARRMA Steel Turnbuckle M5x50mm Silver (2) is an essential suspension tuning component for serious RC enthusiasts who demand precision adjustability and durability from their RC car UK setups. Whether you're running a ready to run RC buggy, a competition-grade brushless RC vehicle, or a high-performance 4WD RC car, these steel turnbuckles offer the reliable suspension geometry adjustment you need to fine-tune your vehicle's handling characteristics without constant disassembly. ARRMA has engineered these turnbuckles from premium heavy-duty steel material, making them the ideal replacement parts for your ARRMA vehicle when suspension maintenance or upgrades are required.

Suspension geometry is critical to RC car performance, and the ability to adjust your vehicle's suspension quickly and easily can make the difference between winning runs and disappointment on the track or bashing field. These turnbuckles have been specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with ARRMA RC vehicles, providing the quality and precision that competitive RC drivers and weekend enthusiasts alike have come to expect from the brand. The silver finish adds a professional, polished appearance to your RC setup whilst maintaining the functional excellence that ARRMA is recognised for across the RC hobby community in the UK and beyond.

This pack contains two turnbuckles, which is the standard requirement for most suspension adjustments on RC buggies and trucks. The M5 threading and precision engineering ensure smooth, repeatable adjustment cycles, allowing you to dial in your suspension geometry with confidence and consistency across multiple driving sessions or race events.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty steel construction — These turnbuckles are machined from high-grade steel material, providing exceptional strength and durability compared to plastic alternatives, ensuring they withstand the demands of aggressive RC driving and repeated suspension adjustments without stripping or deforming.
  • Durable silver surface finish — The silver finish not only enhances the visual appeal of your RC car with an authentic ARRMA aesthetic, but also provides corrosion resistance to protect your investment against moisture and dirt exposure during outdoor RC sessions.
  • Left-hand and right-hand threading — Each turnbuckle features M5 threads with one end having left-hand thread and the other right-hand thread, allowing for suspension geometry adjustment without requiring removal from your RC vehicle, saving time and enabling quick mid-session tuning.
  • 5mm square section centre adjustment point — The machined 5mm square section in the centre of each turnbuckle is designed to fit standard adjustment wrenches, providing secure grip and precise torque application during suspension tuning without risk of slipping or damaging the component.
  • Suspension-specific engineering — These components are engineered specifically for suspension adjustments on ARRMA RC vehicles, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with your chassis geometry and existing suspension components.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Steel Turnbuckle represents a significant upgrade in suspension tuning capability for RC enthusiasts seeking precision and reliability. Manufactured from high-grade heavy-duty steel, these turnbuckles deliver superior strength compared to aluminium or plastic alternatives, enabling them to handle the stresses of competitive RC driving, high-speed bashing, and repeated suspension adjustments without fatigue or failure. The M5x50mm dimensions are standardised for compatibility with ARRMA's suspension geometry specifications, and the dual-thread design (left-hand and right-hand) is a hallmark of professional RC suspension tuning, allowing proportional adjustment of suspension angles through clockwise rotation of the turnbuckle body rather than removal and reinstallation. The 5mm square centre section accommodates standard RC turnbuckle wrenches, enabling precise torque application and smooth adjustment cycles. The durable silver finish provides both aesthetic appeal and practical corrosion resistance, particularly important for UK RC drivers who may encounter wet or damp conditions during outdoor sessions. Build quality is consistent with ARRMA's reputation for engineering excellence, making these turnbuckles reliable components for both casual weekend RC bashers and serious competition drivers seeking consistent, repeatable suspension geometry adjustments across multiple driving conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What RC vehicles are these turnbuckles compatible with? — The ARRMA Steel Turnbuckle M5x50mm is compatible with the ARRMA Typhon 6S V5 BLX and the ARRMA 1/8 TLR Tuned TYPHON 6S 4WD BLX Buggy RTR in Red/Blue. If you own an ARRMA RC buggy or truck, check your vehicle's parts diagram or consult the manual to confirm compatibility before ordering.
  • Why would I need to replace my RC turnbuckles? — Turnbuckles experience wear through repeated suspension adjustments, exposure to dirt and moisture, and the stresses of driving. Replacing worn or damaged turnbuckles restores precision to your suspension geometry and ensures your RC car handles predictably. These steel components are significantly more durable than plastic alternatives.
  • What does the left-hand and right-hand threading mean? — The dual-thread design means one end of each turnbuckle has standard right-hand threads whilst the other end has reverse left-hand threads. This allows you to rotate the turnbuckle body to adjust both suspension arms simultaneously, lengthening or shortening the suspension component proportionally without dismounting it from your RC vehicle.
  • How do I use the 5mm square section for adjustment? — The 5mm square centre section is designed to fit standard RC turnbuckle adjustment wrenches or multi-tools. You insert the wrench into the square and rotate it to lengthen or shorten the turnbuckle, thereby adjusting your suspension geometry for ride height, camber, or anti-roll bar preload depending on where the turnbuckle is mounted on your RC buggy.
  • Are these turnbuckles suitable for beginners? — Yes, these turnbuckles are suitable for all skill levels. Beginners will find them straightforward to adjust, and the steel construction means they are forgiving of learning mistakes. However, suspension tuning itself requires understanding of RC geometry principles, so reading your vehicle manual or learning from experienced RC drivers is recommended before making suspension changes.
  • What is the difference between steel and aluminium turnbuckles? — Steel turnbuckles offer greater durability and resistance to bending or stripping compared to aluminium alternatives, making them superior for high-performance driving and frequent suspension adjustments. Steel also provides better longevity in demanding conditions, though steel is slightly heavier than aluminium. ARRMA's choice of steel reflects the brand's commitment to quality and reliability.
