Overview
The ARRMA Shock Springs 70mm 1.13N/mm (6.5 f-lb/in) are essential tuning components for RC enthusiasts looking to optimise their vehicle's handling characteristics. Whether you own a 1/7 MOJAVE 6S 4X4 RTR brushless desert truck or another compatible ARRMA model, these precision-engineered shock springs allow you to fine-tune your RC car's suspension setup in seconds, delivering the performance edge you need for competitive racing or casual weekend bashing. As a trusted RC car UK retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine ARRMA parts to keep your ready to run RC vehicles performing at their best.
These shock springs represent the kind of detailed tuning capability that separates serious RC enthusiasts from casual drivers. By adjusting your suspension spring rates, you gain direct control over ride height, chassis balance, cornering grip and overall handling feel. The ability to swap springs quickly means you can test different setups at the track or trail without dismantling your entire vehicle, making these springs an invaluable addition to any serious RC bashers toolkit.
Supplied as a pair, these springs are manufactured to ARRMA's exacting standards using premium materials and precision engineering. They fit directly onto compatible ARRMA shock absorbers and are designed to work seamlessly with the suspension geometry of specified models. Whether you're preparing a competition-ready brushless RC truck or optimising a high-performance basher, quality shock springs like these make a measurable difference to how your vehicle behaves on track or terrain.
Key Features
- Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — These shock springs are fabricated from high-grade spring steel using precision manufacturing processes, ensuring absolutely consistent performance across both springs in the pair and delivering reliability that lasts through countless hours of driving and tuning experimentation.
- 70mm Length — At 70mm in length, these springs are specifically engineered for use on ARRMA models including the 1/7 MOJAVE 6S 4X4 RTR brushless desert truck, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal suspension geometry without modification.
- 1.13N/mm Spring Rate (6.5 lb/in) — The spring rate defines how much force is required to compress the spring by one millimetre, and this medium rating (6.5 lb/in) provides a balanced setup suitable for general-purpose driving, track work and terrain variation without excessive stiffness or excessive compliance.
- Supplied as a Pair — Each package contains two springs, allowing you to upgrade both front and rear shock absorbers or replace a damaged spring while keeping matching rates front-to-rear, which is essential for balanced vehicle handling and predictable cornering behaviour.
- Quick Suspension Tuning — Shock springs can be swapped in seconds without removing shocks from the vehicle or disassembling the chassis, making these springs ideal for track-side testing and rapid suspension geometry changes during competition days or test sessions.
- Long-Lasting Durability — The precision spring steel construction resists fatigue and maintains its spring rate consistency over extended use, so your tuning adjustments remain stable and predictable across multiple driving sessions and different weather conditions.
Technical Performance
These ARRMA Shock Springs represent the kind of engineering precision required in modern RC suspension tuning. The 70mm length and 1.13N/mm (6.5 lb/in) spring rate place these springs in the medium-compliance category, suitable for general off-road and desert racing applications where you require a balance between ride comfort and chassis stiffness. The spring rate—measured in Newtons per millimetre—directly influences how the shock absorber responds to bumps, impacts and weight transfer during acceleration, braking and cornering. A lower spring rate (softer spring) allows greater suspension travel and more wheel contact with terrain, improving grip on rough surfaces but potentially allowing excessive chassis roll during hard cornering. Conversely, a stiffer spring rate reduces suspension travel, increases chassis stiffness and can improve handling precision on smooth surfaces but may compromise grip on rough terrain. The 1.13N/mm rate on these springs offers an excellent middle ground for most RC driving scenarios. The precision-manufactured spring steel ensures that both springs in the pair maintain identical spring rates, which is absolutely critical for balanced vehicle handling—if front and rear springs have different rates, the vehicle will tend to pull toward the softer side during cornering and braking. These springs fit the 1/7 MOJAVE 6S 4X4 RTR, a professional-grade brushless desert truck that demands precision suspension components. By using genuine ARRMA springs matched to your vehicle's engineering specifications, you ensure compatibility with the shock absorber design and suspension geometry tuning that ARRMA's engineers have developed for optimal performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which ARRMA models are these shock springs compatible with? — These 70mm springs are listed as standard or optional fitment for the 1/7 MOJAVE 6S 4X4 RTR brushless desert truck, including model numbers ARA106058, ARA7604V2 and ARA7204 (the Roller version). Always verify compatibility with your specific model number before purchase, as suspension specifications can vary across different vehicle platforms and generational updates.
- What does the 1.13N/mm spring rate mean and how do I know if this is right for my setup? — The spring rate (also expressed as 6.5 lb/in) measures the force in Newtons required to compress the spring by one millimetre. A higher number means a stiffer spring that resists compression more strongly. The 1.13N/mm rate is considered medium stiffness and works well for general-purpose driving, track racing and varied terrain. If you find your vehicle sits too high or bounces excessively, you may want stiffer springs. If it sits too low or feels disconnected from the ground, you may want softer springs. These springs are the standard fitment for the MOJAVE 6S, making them an excellent starting point for most drivers.
- Why are shock springs important for RC car performance? — Shock springs directly control how your suspension compresses and extends, affecting ride height, weight distribution, cornering grip, and how quickly the suspension returns to neutral position after hitting bumps. Stiffer springs increase chassis stiffness and can improve handling precision on smooth tracks but reduce grip on rough terrain. Softer springs improve traction on rough terrain but may allow excessive body roll during hard cornering. Finding the right spring rate for your driving style and track conditions is essential to unlock your RC cars full performance potential.
- Can I use different spring rates front and rear? — Technically yes, many RC racers run different spring rates front and rear for specific handling characteristics. However, this makes your vehicle less predictable and more difficult to tune. For most drivers, using identical spring rates front and rear provides the most balanced, consistent handling. Only experiment with different rates once you fully understand how spring rate affects your vehicles handling.
- How often should I replace my shock springs? — Shock springs rarely wear out or lose their rate unless damaged by impacts or extreme use. They should last for years of normal driving. However, if you notice your vehicle sits lower than it used to, or if the suspension feels less responsive, the springs may have lost some rate and replacement is warranted. Always carry spare springs to your competitions so you can adjust setup quickly if needed.
- Are these ARRMA springs genuine and how do I verify authenticity? — Yes, RC Model Shop stocks only genuine ARRMA parts from authorised distributors. Genuine ARRMA components carry consistent part numbers, proper packaging and clearly marked specifications. Always purchase from recognised RC retailers to ensure you receive authentic parts with proper warranty protection and technical support.
