Overview
The ARRMA Shock Springs 40mm 4.7N/mm (27 f-lb/in) are precision-engineered suspension components designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliable performance and handling control. Whether you're running an ARRMA 1/7 scale RC car like the Felony, Infraction, or Limitless, these shock springs are essential tuning parts that allow you to optimise your vehicle's suspension setup in seconds. For RC hobbyists across the UK looking to improve their car's handling characteristics, these springs represent a direct upgrade path without requiring complex modifications or specialist knowledge.
These high-quality shock springs are manufactured from precision spring steel, ensuring consistent performance and long-lasting durability through countless sessions of street bashing, all-road driving, or speed runs. The 40mm length and 4.7N/mm spring rate make them ideal for drivers seeking a slightly softer suspension feel compared to stiffer alternatives, enabling better traction and smoother handling over varied terrain. If you're serious about RC tuning and want to take control of your vehicle's suspension dynamics, these ARRMA springs are a must-have addition to your spares kit.
Available as a pair, these shock springs offer excellent value and come from ARRMA, one of the world's most trusted names in high-performance ready-to-run RC cars. They fit a range of current ARRMA 1/7 models including the Limitless 120, Limitless 6S, Infraction 6S, and Felony 6S variants, making them a versatile choice for the growing RC car UK community.
Key Features
- Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — These shock springs are crafted from high-quality spring steel with precise engineering tolerances, ensuring they deliver consistent compression and extension characteristics every single time you use them, which is essential for predictable handling and repeatability in your RC driving.
- 40mm Length Design — The 40mm length is specifically engineered to work with ARRMA's suspension geometry, providing optimal ride height and suspension travel that complements the vehicle's handling dynamics without requiring additional modifications or spacers.
- 4.7N/mm Spring Rate (27 f-lb/in) — This mid-range spring rate offers a balanced approach to suspension tuning, providing enough compliance for smooth handling over rough surfaces whilst maintaining sufficient support to prevent excessive chassis bottoming, making these springs suitable for various driving conditions and surfaces.
- Long-Lasting Durability — The robust construction of these spring steel components means they resist fatigue and maintain their spring rate consistency through extended use, delivering reliable performance whether you're a casual basher or run frequent practice sessions throughout the week.
- Pair Included — You receive two shock springs in this package, which is the correct quantity needed for a complete front or rear suspension tuning change on ARRMA 1/7 scale vehicles, eliminating the need to purchase multiple packets.
- Easy Installation — These springs slip onto your shock bodies without requiring any tools or special equipment beyond basic RC maintenance supplies, allowing you to change your suspension tune in seconds and immediately test the handling difference on your next drive session.
- Official ARRMA Component — As genuine ARRMA parts manufactured to factory specifications, you can be confident these springs are engineered to work perfectly with your vehicle's suspension system and won't cause fitment or compatibility issues.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Springs 40mm 4.7N/mm represent precision suspension engineering designed specifically for 1/7 scale brushless RC vehicles. The 4.7N/mm spring rate, expressed in alternative measurement as 27 f-lb/in, positions these springs in the softer-to-medium range of ARRMA's suspension offerings, making them ideal for drivers who want improved traction and reduced harshness whilst maintaining adequate support. The 40mm length has been calculated to work seamlessly with ARRMA's suspension geometry, particularly in models like the Limitless 120 8S AVC, Limitless 6S, Infraction 6S AVC, Infraction 6S, and Felony 6S AVC variants. These springs are manufactured from hardened spring steel that resists permanent deformation even under the extreme loads encountered during high-speed running, jumps, and aggressive cornering. The precision manufacturing process ensures that both springs in the pair have identical rates and characteristics, which is critical for balanced vehicle handling and preventing unwanted handling bias. Whether you're upgrading from the stock springs or fine-tuning a well-developed platform, these springs offer the engineering quality and material science expected from a manufacturer as respected as ARRMA in the global RC community. The springs are maintenance-free components that require no lubrication or special care beyond occasional cleaning, making them perfect for the UK's varied weather conditions where moisture and salt can affect less robust components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which ARRMA models are these shock springs compatible with? — These 40mm 4.7N/mm springs fit a wide range of current ARRMA 1/7 scale models, including the Limitless 120 8S AVC, Limitless 6S 4WD, Infraction 6S and Infraction 6S AVC, and Felony 6S AVC. Always check your vehicle's manual or parts diagram to confirm fitment before purchasing, as shock spring compatibility depends on your specific model year and variant.
- What is the difference between this spring rate and other ARRMA shock springs? — ARRMA offers shock springs in various rates to suit different driving styles and conditions. The 4.7N/mm (27 f-lb/in) springs in this package are a mid-range option that balances compliance and support. Stiffer springs (like the 6.6N/mm options available) provide more support and are better for high-speed driving and harsh surfaces, whilst softer springs offer improved traction and smoother handling over rough terrain. Your choice depends on your typical driving conditions, track surface, and personal preference for vehicle feel.
- How do I know when to replace my shock springs? — Shock springs can lose their rate over time through fatigue or if they become permanently deformed through impact. If your vehicle feels noticeably softer or leans more during cornering than before, or if you notice uneven ride height or inconsistent handling compared to your notes from previous sessions, it may be time to replace your springs. Keeping spare spring sets allows you to maintain consistent tuning across multiple vehicles or test different rates at the track.
- Can I mix different spring rates on my RC car? — Technically yes, but it's not recommended for optimal handling. Using different spring rates on the front and rear will create handling imbalances, making the vehicle feel unpredictable and difficult to drive smoothly. For the best setup, use matching spring rates front and rear, then adjust your ride height and anti-roll bar settings to dial in the handling characteristics you prefer.
- What tools do I need to install these shock springs? — These springs simply slide onto your shock bodies without requiring any special tools. You may find it helpful to have your RC model stand or workbench ready so you can safely access your shocks, but installation is straightforward enough for drivers of any experience level, from complete beginners to experienced competitors.
- Are these genuine ARRMA parts? — Yes, these are official ARRMA components manufactured to factory specification. When you purchase from authorised retailers like RC Model Shop, you can be confident you're receiving genuine ARRMA parts that carry proper warranty support and are engineered to work perfectly with your ARRMA vehicle.
