If you're building your dream RC setup or maintaining an existing fleet, having spare springs on hand ensures you're always prepared to adapt to changing track conditions or personal driving preferences.

RC enthusiasts across the UK understand that suspension tuning is one of the most effective ways to improve vehicle performance without expensive upgrades. These ARRMA shock springs allow you to adjust spring stiffness quickly and easily, making them an invaluable addition to any RC toolkit. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying outdoor RC action or a competitive driver chasing lap times, the ability to swap springs and instantly feel the difference in handling is a game-changer.

Key Features

  • Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — These shock springs are crafted from high-quality spring steel using precision manufacturing techniques, ensuring consistent performance characteristics that remain stable through extended use and repeated compression cycles. The quality of the steel means the springs maintain their original stiffness specification over time, preventing the gradual softening that can occur with lower-grade materials, which translates to reliable, predictable handling every time you take your RC car out.
  • Consistent Performance and Long-Lasting Durability — The engineering and material selection guarantee that these springs deliver consistent damping performance lap after lap and session after session, without the unpredictable changes in handling that come from worn or degraded suspension components. The durability means you'll get excellent value for money, as these springs will maintain their characteristics through hundreds of hours of driving rather than requiring frequent replacement.
  • 35mm Length Configuration — The 35mm length is specifically engineered to work seamlessly with compatible ARRMA shock towers and damper units, ensuring proper fitment and optimal suspension travel that keeps your vehicle stable and responsive whether you're cornering at speed or navigating rough terrain.
  • 6.6N/mm Spring Rate (38 f-lb/in) — This medium spring rate provides an excellent balance between compliance and support, allowing your vehicle to absorb impacts and bumps whilst maintaining sufficient stiffness to prevent excessive body roll during aggressive cornering. The spring rate is measured in both metric (6.6N/mm) and imperial (38 f-lb/in) specifications to suit drivers worldwide, and this particular rate suits a wide variety of driving conditions and driving styles.
  • Pair of Two Springs Included — Each package contains two individual springs, which represents a complete front or rear shock pair depending on your vehicle configuration. This means you can refresh both shocks on one axle or experiment with different stiffness combinations by mixing and matching spring rates across your suspension setup.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Shock Springs represent the engineering excellence expected from ARRMA, a manufacturer renowned for producing reliable ready to run RC vehicles and performance components. These 35mm springs are manufactured from precision spring steel selected for its ability to withstand repeated compression without deformation or loss of stiffness characteristics. The 6.6N/mm (38 f-lb/in) spring rate sits in the middle of ARRMA's shock spring range, offering versatility across multiple driving conditions—from smooth track surfaces to rough, bumpy terrain. The springs work in conjunction with damper units to create a complete suspension system that manages vehicle weight transfer during acceleration, braking, and cornering. By adjusting spring stiffness, RC drivers can fundamentally alter how their vehicle responds to inputs and environmental conditions; softer springs allow greater suspension travel and more progressive comfort, whilst stiffer springs reduce body roll and improve stability during high-speed manoeuvres. The springs are compatible with multiple ARRMA 1/7 scale models including the Felony 6S AVC, Infraction 6S and 6S AVC, and Limitless 6S and 8S variants, making them highly versatile components for multi-vehicle owners. Each spring is manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring consistent performance across the pair so that left and right suspension behave symmetrically, critical for balanced handling and predictable vehicle behaviour.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which ARRMA RC models are these shock springs compatible with? — These 35mm springs with 6.6N/mm rating are designed to fit multiple ARRMA 1/7 scale models including the Felony 6S AVC, Infraction 6S, Infraction 6S AVC, Limitless 6S, Limitless 6S AVC, and Limitless 120 8S AVC. They're listed as both standard and optional parts for these vehicles, meaning some models include them as stock components whilst others benefit from them as upgrade options. Check your specific vehicle's parts list to confirm fitment.
  • How do shock springs affect RC car handling and performance? — Shock springs are fundamental suspension tuning components that directly influence how your RC car handles during acceleration, braking, and cornering. Stiffer springs reduce suspension travel and minimise body roll, improving stability during aggressive driving and on smooth surfaces, whilst softer springs allow greater suspension compliance, absorbing bumps more progressively and providing comfort on rough terrain. By swapping spring rates, you can adapt your vehicle's handling to match track conditions, personal driving style, or specific racing requirements—this is why serious RC enthusiasts keep multiple spring rates available.
  • Do these springs work with other manufacturers' RC cars or only ARRMA vehicles? — These are ARRMA-specific components engineered to work with ARRMA's shock tower design and damper units. Whilst the 35mm length and 6.6N/mm rate may fit some other manufacturer's shocks, we recommend using springs specifically designed for your vehicle to ensure proper fitment, correct suspension geometry, and optimal performance. Using incorrect springs can affect handling unpredictably and potentially damage shock components.
  • What's the difference between the different ARRMA 35mm spring rates available? — ARRMA produces multiple 35mm shock springs in different rates—this 6.6N/mm option sits in the middle of their range. Softer springs (lower N/mm ratings) compress more easily and provide greater suspension travel, improving comfort on bumpy terrain but increasing body roll. Stiffer springs (higher N/mm ratings) resist compression, maintaining a flatter stance during cornering and providing more consistent handling on smooth surfaces but offering less compliance over obstacles. The choice depends entirely on your driving conditions, vehicle weight, and personal preference for handling characteristics.
  • Can I mix different spring rates on the same vehicle? — Technically yes, you can run different spring rates front and rear or left and right; however, this creates asymmetrical handling that requires tuning expertise to manage effectively. Most drivers start with matching spring rates front and rear, then progress to experimenting with different rates as they develop tuning knowledge. Running mismatched springs without understanding the consequences can result in unpredictable handling that makes the vehicle difficult to control.
  • Are these springs suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Shock springs are ideal for beginners because they offer an affordable, tool-free way to experiment with suspension tuning and immediately feel the effects on handling. Beginners should start with the standard spring rate recommended for their vehicle, then experiment cautiously with one step softer or stiffer to develop an intuitive understanding of how suspension affects performance. This learning process builds the foundation for advanced tuning skills.
  • How often should I replace my shock springs? — Quality springs like these ARRMA components are designed for long service life and shouldn't require replacement unless they become physically damaged, bent, or permanently deformed. The precision spring steel used means they maintain their original stiffness specification through hundreds of hours of driving. However, if you're an active RC enthusiast, having spare springs in different rates allows rapid adaptation to changing conditions and provides backup components in case of damage.
  • What tools do I need to change shock springs? — Shock spring changes require minimal tools—typically just a shock tool or small hex wrench to remove the shock from the vehicle (exact requirements depend on your specific ARRMA model). The springs themselves slide onto the shock shaft and are held in place by the shock cap, which unscrews by hand or with minimal effort. This simplicity is why suspension tuning via spring changes is so popular; you can experiment with different rates in the time it takes to remove and reinstall shocks.
