Overview
The ARRMA Shock Set with 16mm bore and 115mm length is an essential replacement suspension component for RC car enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're running an ARRMA Kraton 6S or similar platform, this shock set delivers professional-grade performance with pre-assembled components ready for immediate installation. Designed for serious RC bashers and competitors who demand reliability and adjustability, these shocks represent a significant upgrade opportunity for your RC car UK setup, offering tuning flexibility through multiple piston options and high-quality engineering throughout.
This is not a basic spare part — it's a complete suspension solution that comes fully assembled with premium materials and genuine ARRMA engineering. For RC enthusiasts looking to maintain peak performance or upgrade their existing suspension, this shock set provides the quality and features expected from a leading RC brand. The combination of anodised aluminium construction, stainless steel internals, and silicone shock oil creates a package that performs consistently across varied driving conditions, whether you're enjoying weekend bashing sessions or competitive racing on UK tracks.
Perfect for drivers who understand that suspension tuning directly impacts handling, stability and overall driving experience, this ready to run RC shock set eliminates the need for lengthy assembly. Simply fit your preferred spring and you're ready to hit the ground running with a professional suspension system that responds to your driving style and track conditions.
Key Features
- High-quality anodised aluminium construction — The shock bodies, caps, seal caps and preload adjusters are manufactured from premium anodised aluminium, providing excellent corrosion resistance and durability that lasts through countless hours of RC driving without degradation or oxidation damage.
- Strong 4mm stainless steel shock shafts — The large diameter stainless steel shafts deliver long-lasting durability and straightness, resisting bending under hard impacts and ensuring consistent performance throughout the lifespan of your shocks, even during aggressive bash sessions.
- Tough composite shock rod ends and spring retainers — These composite components absorb impact energy effectively whilst maintaining precise alignment, preventing loosening or wear that can compromise suspension geometry and handling characteristics.
- Supplied fully assembled — Both shock absorbers arrive ready to bolt directly onto your vehicle after fitting your choice of spring, saving significant assembly time and ensuring professional-quality construction from the factory.
- Shock boots included for shaft protection — The protective boots shield the shock shafts from dirt, mud and debris during outdoor RC driving, extending the service life of seals and internals by preventing contamination that could cause stiction or leakage.
- Pre-filled with 1000cSt silicone shock oil — The shocks arrive filled with high-quality 1000 centistoke silicone shock oil, eliminating the messy task of filling whilst guaranteeing consistent damping characteristics and thermal stability across different ambient temperatures.
- Additional tuning pistons supplied — Four blank tuning pistons plus multiple hole-count options (8 x 1.4mm and 8 x 1.3mm) allow you to fine-tune damping rates without purchasing additional parts, giving you the flexibility to dial in perfect suspension response for your driving style and track conditions.
Technical Performance
These ARRMA shocks represent serious engineering designed for the demands of high-performance RC vehicles. The 16mm internal bore diameter positions these shocks in the performance category, delivering significant oil volume that maintains consistent damping forces even during extended driving sessions where heat buildup could affect lighter-duty alternatives. The 115mm centre-to-centre length specification ensures compatibility with ARRMA platforms like the Kraton 6S whilst the 1000cSt silicone oil viscosity provides a balanced foundation for tuning — thick enough to provide stable damping yet fluid enough to allow precise adjustment through piston selection. The 1.2mm x 8 hole base pistons offer a starting point for tuning, with the included alternative options (1.4mm and 1.3mm hole configurations) allowing you to increase or decrease damping rates without modifying the pistons themselves. The 4mm stainless steel shafts resist flex and bending, crucial for maintaining suspension geometry during hard cornering and impact events. The composite rod ends and spring retainers offer the perfect balance between impact absorption and precision, whilst the anodised aluminium bodies provide structural rigidity and corrosion protection essential for UK outdoor RC driving where moisture exposure is inevitable. These are not entry-level shocks — they are genuine ARRMA performance components engineered to deliver consistent handling, precise response and durability expected by competitive drivers and serious enthusiasts.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these shocks suitable for my ARRMA RC car UK? — The 16mm bore and 115mm length specification confirms compatibility with ARRMA platforms including the Kraton 6S and similar models. You should verify your specific vehicle requires 115mm centre-to-centre shocks before purchase, as different platforms may use different shock lengths.
- Can I adjust the damping on these shocks? — Yes, absolutely. The shocks arrive with blank tuning pistons and two alternative hole-count options (1.4mm and 1.3mm configurations) allowing you to fine-tune damping rates without purchasing additional pistons. This is a significant advantage for drivers who want to dial in perfect suspension response for their driving style and local track conditions.
- What does the 1000cSt silicone oil mean? — The 1000 centistoke viscosity describes the thickness of the shock oil, which directly affects damping force and responsiveness. This viscosity provides a balanced starting point for tuning — it's not too thick (which would make shocks feel harsh) nor too thin (which would feel mushy). The pre-filled oil eliminates the need for you to fill the shocks yourself, ensuring consistent performance from the factory.
- Are these shocks better than standard suspension? — These are professional-grade suspension components offering multiple advantages over basic shocks: premium anodised aluminium construction resists corrosion, the large 4mm stainless steel shafts resist bending during impacts, and the supplied tuning pistons allow you to adjust damping rates for different track conditions and driving styles. They represent a genuine upgrade for drivers serious about suspension performance.
- What springs do I need? — The shocks accept springs designed for 16mm bore shock bodies. You should consult your vehicle's manual or an ARRMA specialist to determine the correct spring rates for your specific model and driving conditions. Different spring rates dramatically affect how your vehicle handles, so choosing the right spring is crucial for optimal performance.
- Do these shocks need any assembly? — No, the shocks arrive fully assembled and filled with shock oil. You simply need to fit your chosen springs and bolt them onto your vehicle. This factory assembly ensures professional quality and saves significant preparation time compared to building shocks from component parts.
- What are the blank tuning pistons for? — The four blank tuning pistons are blank templates that you can drill to create custom piston configurations if you need damping rates between the supplied options. However, most drivers will find the included 1.4mm and 1.3mm hole options provide sufficient tuning range for their needs.
