Overview

The ARRMA Shock Springs, 35mm 4.7N/mm (27lb ft/in) are precision-engineered suspension components designed to give RC enthusiasts complete control over their vehicle's handling characteristics. Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend basher, or someone new to the world of RC car UK hobby, these replacement shock springs allow you to fine-tune your suspension setup in seconds without complex adjustments or specialist tools. Available as a pair, these springs are essential maintenance items for any ARRMA RC vehicle owner looking to optimise performance and maintain consistent handling across different terrains and driving styles.

These high-quality shock springs are manufactured from premium spring steel, ensuring consistent performance and long-lasting durability through countless hours of driving. The 35mm length and 4.7N/mm spring rate make them compatible with a range of ARRMA's popular models, including the 1/7 scale brushless RTR machines like the FELONY 6S AVC, INFRACTION 6S, and LIMITLESS series. For UK RC car enthusiasts seeking reliable replacement parts from an authorised ARRMA dealer, these springs represent excellent value and guaranteed genuine quality.

Spring rate selection is crucial to RC vehicle performance, and having the correct springs fitted ensures your vehicle sits at the proper ride height, responds predictably to throttle inputs, and maintains stable handling across jumps and rough ground. The 4.7N/mm rating on these springs provides a moderate spring rate suitable for mixed-use driving, offering a balance between responsiveness and comfort. Keeping spare sets of shock springs in your toolkit means you can experiment with different setups to match changing track conditions or driving preferences without waiting for mail delivery or sourcing hard-to-find parts.

Key Features

  • Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — Each spring is manufactured from high-grade spring steel using precision engineering techniques, ensuring that both springs in the pair perform identically and maintain their characteristics over extended use, which is critical for consistent vehicle handling and predictable suspension response.
  • 35mm Length — The 35mm dimension is specifically designed to fit ARRMA's shock absorber assemblies on their larger-scale RTR models, ensuring proper suspension geometry and ride height when installed correctly.
  • 4.7N/mm Spring Rate (27lb/in) — This moderate spring rate provides an excellent balance between suspension sensitivity and stability, allowing your RC vehicle to respond quickly to terrain changes whilst maintaining controlled body roll and preventing excessive bouncing or harsh impacts during aggressive driving.
  • Pair Configuration — Each package contains two springs, typically for front and rear suspension, allowing you to refresh your entire vehicle's suspension system in one purchase or maintain a spare set for different driving conditions.
  • Easy Installation — These springs are simple to install and require no special tools or modifications, making them ideal for hobbyists of all skill levels who want to tune their vehicle's handling without extensive mechanical knowledge.
  • Quick Tuning Solution — By swapping shock springs, you can adjust your vehicle's ride height, suspension stiffness, and overall handling characteristics in seconds, making it easy to adapt to different track layouts or driving styles without rebuilding your suspension.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Shock Springs represent the manufacturer's commitment to providing quality suspension components that meet the demanding requirements of modern RC racing and bashing. At 35mm in length, these springs are engineered to fit seamlessly into ARRMA's shock absorber towers on their larger scale vehicles, particularly the impressive 1/7 scale RTR models such as the FELONY 6S AVC, INFRACTION 6S AVC, INFRACTION 6S, LIMITLESS 120 8S AVC, and LIMITLESS 6S. The 4.7N/mm spring rate, expressed in imperial measurements as 27 pounds per inch, provides the ideal middle ground for general-purpose driving that encompasses everything from street bashing to light off-road work. This spring rate is stiff enough to prevent excessive suspension travel and maintain structural integrity during high-speed cornering and landing from jumps, yet compliant enough to absorb terrain imperfections and provide responsive feedback to the driver. The precision manufacturing process ensures that both springs in the pair are matched within tight tolerances, eliminating the common problem of uneven handling caused by mismatched suspension components. The spring steel material resists fatigue cracking and maintains its rated stiffness throughout the lifespan of the springs, meaning you won't experience gradual softening or unpredictable behaviour as the springs age. These genuine ARRMA components are engineered and tested to exact specifications, ensuring compatibility and performance that aftermarket alternatives simply cannot match. Users of ready to run RC cars will appreciate that these springs allow simple suspension tuning without requiring the purchase of expensive shock assemblies, extending the service life of expensive shock components by allowing wear to be addressed through spring replacement alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ARRMA models are these shock springs compatible with? — These 35mm 4.7N/mm springs are fitted as standard or optional parts on several ARRMA vehicles including the 1/7 FELONY 6S AVC 4X4 RTR, 1/7 INFRACTION 6S 4X4 RTR, 1/7 INFRACTION 6S AVC 4X4 RTR, 1/7 LIMITLESS 120 8S AVC 4X4 RTR, and 1/7 LIMITLESS 6S 4X4 RTR. Check your vehicle's manual or the ARRMA website to confirm fitment for your specific model before ordering.
  • Why would I need replacement shock springs for my RC car? — Shock springs gradually lose their stiffness through repeated compression cycles during normal driving, particularly if you regularly jump your vehicle or drive on rough terrain. Additionally, different driving conditions and personal preferences may call for different spring rates to optimise handling characteristics. Having replacement springs available means you can maintain consistent performance and experiment with suspension tuning without waiting for delivery.
  • How do I know if I need to replace my shock springs? — Signs that your shock springs may need replacement include your vehicle sitting lower than it used to at ride height, poor rebound characteristics after landing jumps, or inconsistent handling compared to a newly serviced vehicle. If you notice your suspension compresses too easily or doesn't return to full height promptly, it's time to consider new springs.
  • Are these suitable for racing or just bashing? — The 4.7N/mm spring rate is versatile enough for both applications. These springs provide a balanced setup suitable for general driving, weekend bashing, and casual competition. For serious racing, you may want to experiment with alternative spring rates depending on your specific track conditions and driving style, but these springs are an excellent all-purpose choice.
  • What is the difference between 35mm and other lengths of ARRMA shock springs? — The 35mm length is specific to certain ARRMA models, particularly the larger 1/7 scale vehicles. Other models may use different lengths such as springs featured in part numbers ARA330630 and ARA330631. Using the correct length for your vehicle is essential for proper suspension geometry and handling, so always verify compatibility before purchasing.
  • Can I use these springs on other RC brands? — These springs are specifically designed for ARRMA shock absorber towers and may not fit other manufacturers' vehicles. Always verify compatibility with your shock assembly dimensions before installation to avoid fit issues or suspension problems.
