Key Features
- Precision-Manufactured Aluminium Construction — The chassis brace bar is crafted from lightweight aluminium material using precision manufacturing techniques, ensuring consistent quality and exact dimensions that guarantee perfect fitment on your ARRMA RC model. Aluminium provides an ideal balance between strength and weight, critical for maintaining optimal handling and acceleration in RC off-road vehicles.
- Red Anodized Finish for Durability and Aesthetics — The ARRMA red anodized coating is not merely for looks; anodizing is an electrochemical process that creates a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide layer on the aluminium surface. This protective finish ensures the brace bar withstands the demands of outdoor RC driving, mud, water, and general wear whilst maintaining its striking appearance and preventing rust or degradation over extended use.
- 164mm Optimised Length — The 164mm dimension is specifically engineered for ARRMA chassis geometry, providing optimal bracing without interfering with suspension articulation or other chassis components. This carefully calculated length ensures maximum structural reinforcement while maintaining the intended suspension geometry and handling characteristics of your RC vehicle.
- Reduces Chassis Flex — By adding a rigid brace bar across the chassis, you significantly reduce unwanted flex during aggressive acceleration, cornering, and impacts. Less chassis flex translates to more predictable handling, improved traction, and better overall stability when driving your RC car on demanding terrain in the UK or abroad.
- Genuine ARRMA Spare Part — This is an authorised ARRMA component, meaning it meets the manufacturer's exact specifications and quality standards. Using genuine ARRMA parts ensures compatibility and reliability, protecting your warranty and ensuring your RC model performs exactly as intended by the engineers who designed it.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Chassis Brace Bar 164mm represents a thoughtful piece of RC engineering designed to address one of the most common issues facing RC enthusiasts: chassis flex. When you're driving your ARRMA RC vehicle aggressively, the chassis naturally flexes under load, particularly during hard acceleration, sharp cornering, and when landing jumps or impacts. This flex, whilst intentional to some degree for suspension compliance, can become excessive if left unchecked, leading to unpredictable handling characteristics and increased wear on other chassis components. The brace bar works by creating a rigid triangulated structure that braces opposite sides of the chassis together, dramatically reducing this flex and improving overall structural rigidity. Built from lightweight aluminium, the material choice is critical—it provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring you gain structural benefits without adding significant mass that would compromise acceleration and top speed. The anodized finish is particularly important for durability; the hard oxide coating protects against corrosion from moisture, mud, and salt spray, ensuring the component maintains its integrity through extended off-road driving sessions. The 164mm length is optimised for ARRMA's chassis geometry, providing bracing where it's needed most without interfering with suspension travel or articulation. This is the kind of precision engineering that separates quality RC spare parts from inferior alternatives—every dimension is calculated to deliver maximum performance benefit.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does a chassis brace bar do on my RC car? — A chassis brace bar is a structural reinforcement component that reduces flex in your RC chassis. When you drive your ARRMA vehicle hard, the chassis naturally flexes under load from acceleration, cornering forces, and impacts. Excessive flex causes unpredictable handling and can accelerate wear on other components. The brace bar creates a rigid triangulated support structure, significantly reducing this flex and improving overall vehicle stability, handling precision, and durability. It's one of the most popular and cost-effective upgrades for RC enthusiasts.
- Is the ARRMA Chassis Brace Bar 164mm compatible with all ARRMA models? — The 164mm length is designed for specific ARRMA chassis configurations. Always verify compatibility with your specific ARRMA model before purchasing. If you're unsure which brace bar length your vehicle requires, contact RC Model Shop and our knowledgeable team can confirm the correct part number for your RC car or truck.
- Will adding a brace bar affect my suspension travel? — When installed correctly, the 164mm brace bar is engineered to work harmoniously with ARRMA's suspension geometry. The placement and length are calculated to provide chassis reinforcement without restricting suspension articulation or vertical travel. Your suspension should continue to perform as designed, but with improved stability and predictability thanks to reduced chassis flex.
- How difficult is it to install the ARRMA Chassis Brace Bar? — Installation difficulty depends on your ARRMA model, but generally, a chassis brace bar is a straightforward bolt-on component. You'll need basic RC tools like an allen key or hex driver, and the process typically takes under 15 minutes. If you're new to RC maintenance, RC Model Shop staff can provide guidance, and numerous online tutorials are available for ARRMA vehicles. Installation is well within the capability of most RC enthusiasts.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. The chassis brace bar is one of the most beginner-friendly upgrades you can install. It requires no special knowledge of RC engineering or complex installation procedures, yet it delivers noticeable improvements in vehicle handling and durability. Whether you're a complete beginner just discovering RC for the first time or an experienced basher, this upgrade provides excellent value and benefits.
- What's the difference between this 164mm brace bar and other lengths? — ARRMA offers various chassis brace bar lengths optimised for different model platforms and chassis designs. The 164mm version is engineered for specific ARRMA chassis geometries. Using the correct length for your model ensures optimal performance. Other lengths like 145mm are designed for different ARRMA platforms. Always verify the correct part number for your specific vehicle to ensure proper fitment and performance.
