Overview

The ARRMA Center Driveshaft High Speed Support Set Z-ARA311027 is an essential upgrade for serious RC enthusiasts looking to maximise the performance and longevity of their ARRMA 4x4 vehicles. This precision-engineered drivetrain component addresses a common issue that affects high-performance RC cars and trucks: centre driveshaft vibration at elevated transmission RPM. Whether you are running a ready to run RC monster truck, brushless speed truck, or stunt truck from ARRMA's comprehensive lineup, this support set significantly reduces unwanted vibration in the transmission's centre shaft, which translates directly into improved drivetrain durability and more consistent on-track or off-track performance.

Designed specifically for ARRMA's 4x4 range, including popular models such as the Big Rock, Granite, Kraton, Outcast, Senton, Vorteks, Infraction, Typhon and Vendetta platforms, this high-speed support set is manufactured from high-quality moulded composite material. The engineering behind this component is straightforward yet effective: by providing a stable mounting point for the centre driveshaft, it eliminates the harmonic vibrations that can lead to premature bearing wear, shaft fatigue and transmission noise during high-speed runs. RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand the best from their brushless RC trucks and buggies will appreciate the precision and durability this component brings to their setups.

This is not merely a replacement part—it represents a commitment to maintaining your RC vehicle in peak condition. The set arrives pre-assembled in the dual battery box configuration and includes everything required to install the support on your ARRMA 4x4, plus an additional mount for vehicles using the single battery box configuration, making it a versatile solution across multiple ARRMA platforms.

Key Features

  • Reduces Centre Driveshaft Vibration — The primary function of this support set is to minimise vibration of the centre rear driveshaft during high-speed transmission operation, which directly improves drivetrain longevity and reduces stress on connected components.
  • Precisely Moulded Composite Construction — Each support is precisely moulded from high-quality composite material to accurately locate and align with your ARRMA vehicle's chassis, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable performance without modification.
  • High-Quality Ball Bearings Included — The set features two rubber-shielded ball bearings that are pre-installed in the dual battery box configuration version, providing smooth rotation and extended bearing life even under demanding driving conditions.
  • Secure Chassis Mounting System — The support is retained firmly on the chassis using an included M2.5 x 8mm cap head screw, ensuring the assembly remains stable during aggressive cornering, acceleration and high-speed runs.
  • Dual Battery Box Configuration Pre-Assembled — This set arrives factory-assembled in the dual battery box configuration with both ball bearings already installed, allowing immediate fitment to compatible vehicles without additional assembly steps.
  • Single Battery Box Mount Included — For owners who run the single battery box configuration on their ARRMA vehicles, this set includes an additional mount specifically designed for that chassis layout, making it compatible across multiple ARRMA 4x4 platforms.
  • Bearing Retention O-Ring — A 12 x 2mm O-ring is included to retain the ball bearing on the centre shaft when the centre shaft is removed from the vehicle, ensuring the bearing remains in place during maintenance or storage.
  • Factory-Installed Ball Bearing Design — The included high-quality ball bearing fits directly onto the centre shaft of the transmission and then clips securely into the support structure, providing a reliable interface between the shaft and support mount.

Technical Performance

This centre driveshaft support set represents ARRMA's engineering approach to eliminating a real-world problem that affects high-performance RC vehicles: unwanted vibration at elevated transmission speeds. The moulded composite material used in construction provides the ideal balance between structural rigidity and vibration dampening, preventing resonant frequencies that can develop in the transmission during sustained high-speed running. The inclusion of two rubber-shielded ball bearings is critical to performance—these precision components allow the centre shaft to rotate smoothly whilst providing the necessary support structure. The rubber shields protect the bearings from dirt and moisture ingress, extending service life in both on-road and off-road conditions. The M2.5 x 8mm cap head screw provides positive, repeatable clamping force that holds the support assembly in perfect alignment with the chassis, whilst the 12 x 2mm O-ring ensures bearing retention even when the centre shaft is removed for maintenance. The design accommodates both dual and single battery box chassis configurations, demonstrating ARRMA's consideration for the breadth of their 4x4 vehicle platform. This support is listed as a standard part for numerous ARRMA models including the 1/10 Big Rock 3S, Granite 3S, Granite Boost, Kraton 4S, Outcast 4S, Senton 3S, Senton Boost, Vorteks models, 1/8 Infraction 3S, Typhon models and Vendetta 3S, confirming its broad compatibility and proven effectiveness across ARRMA's range.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which ARRMA RC vehicles is this centre driveshaft support compatible with? — This support set is compatible with a comprehensive range of ARRMA 4x4 models including the 1/10 Big Rock 3S, Granite 3S and Boost variants, Kraton 4S, Outcast 4S, Senton 3S and Boost variants, Vorteks 223S, Vorteks 3S and Boost variants, as well as 1/8 scale models including the Infraction 3S, Typhon 3S and Boost variants, and Vendetta 3S. It is also compatible with six-wheel drive Limitless 8S models and Felony 6S models according to the extended fitment data, making it suitable for a wide variety of ARRMA ready to run RC trucks and buggies.
  • What does this centre driveshaft support actually do? — The support reduces vibration of the centre rear driveshaft at high transmission RPM, which directly improves drivetrain durability and reduces stress on bearings, shafts and gears. This is particularly important for high-performance brushless RC vehicles that operate at elevated engine and transmission speeds during competitive racing or fast recreational driving.
  • Do I need any special tools to install this support? — Installation is straightforward and requires only basic tools—a small hex key or Allen wrench to tighten the included M2.5 x 8mm cap head screw. The support mounts directly to your chassis and the included ball bearing clips into place without modification.
  • What is included with this set? — The set arrives pre-assembled in the dual battery box configuration with both ball bearings factory-installed, ready for immediate fitment. Additionally, an extra single battery box configuration mount is included to support users with different chassis layouts, along with an additional ball bearing, O-ring for bearing retention, and the cap head mounting screw.
  • Can I fit this to both dual and single battery box ARRMA vehicles? — Yes, this is one of the key design advantages. The set arrives with the dual battery box configuration pre-assembled and ready to install, and includes a dedicated single battery box configuration mount so you can adapt the support to whichever chassis layout your ARRMA vehicle uses.
  • Is this a worthwhile upgrade for my ARRMA RC truck? — Absolutely. Reducing vibration at the centre driveshaft translates into less wear on transmission components, smoother power delivery, reduced noise, and ultimately longer component lifespan. For drivers who run their vehicles frequently or at high speeds, this is a genuinely valuable maintenance and durability upgrade.
  • What quality standards are used in this component? — The support is precision-moulded to accurately locate with the vehicle chassis, whilst the included ball bearings are high-quality components with rubber shielding to protect against dirt and moisture. ARRMA lists this as a standard part on numerous factory models, indicating its reliability and proven performance in demanding driving conditions.
