Overview
The ARRMA Set Screw 4x10mm (10) Z-AR724410 is an essential replacement and spare part for RC enthusiasts across the UK who maintain and service their ARRMA RC vehicles. Whether you're running an ARRMA 1/10 scale RC buggy, monster truck, or other ARRMA model, set screws are critical fasteners that hold components securely in place during high-performance driving. This pack contains ten individual M4 set screws, each precisely machined to ARRMA's exacting specifications, making it an indispensable addition to any RC car UK workshop or spare parts collection.
Set screws, also known as grub screws, are used throughout RC vehicles to secure gears, pulleys, motor shafts and other rotating components. Unlike standard bolts that use external heads, set screws feature a hex socket (Allen key) drive that sits flush with the surface, making them ideal for applications where a low profile is essential. The 4x10mm size is a commonly used specification across many ARRMA models, and having spare set screws on hand ensures you can quickly repair and maintain your ready to run RC car or competition-grade vehicle without unnecessary downtime.
This official ARRMA spare part is manufactured to the highest standards and ensures perfect compatibility with your ARRMA RC vehicle. For any RC car UK owner who takes their hobbying seriously, stocking replacement fasteners like these set screws is a fundamental part of responsible vehicle ownership and maintenance. The pack of ten gives you multiple spares, so you'll always have extras on hand for emergency repairs or routine maintenance schedules.
Key Features
- M4 Thread Size — The M4 metric thread specification is a standard size used across numerous ARRMA vehicle models and components, ensuring broad compatibility across the ARRMA product range and making these screws versatile for various assembly applications on your RC car.
- 10mm Length — The precise 10mm length measurement is designed to mate correctly with ARRMA's engineered components, providing optimal thread engagement without bottoming out or creating assembly problems that could compromise the integrity of your RC car UK vehicle.
- Hexagonal Socket Drive — The hex socket (Allen key) driver type allows for precise, controlled tightening without the risk of stripping the screw head, which is crucial when working with precision RC components that require accurate torque specifications.
- Machine Thread Profile — Machine thread construction means these screws are designed for use in pre-tapped holes or threaded inserts, providing consistent clamping force and reliability during the high-vibration environment of RC racing or bashing.
- Black Finish — The black colour provides a professional appearance that matches ARRMA's OEM (original equipment manufacturer) aesthetic, and the finish helps resist minor corrosion in the outdoor environments where RC vehicles are typically operated.
- Pack of Ten — Ten individual screws in each pack means you have multiple spare units for emergency repairs, component upgrades, or simply maintaining a well-stocked spare parts inventory for your brushless RC model or competition vehicle.
- Official ARRMA Part — As a genuine ARRMA spare part, this Z-AR724410 component guarantees authenticity and quality assurance, ensuring it meets ARRMA's engineering standards and will function reliably in your RC car UK setup.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Set Screw 4x10mm represents precision engineering in fastener design. The M4 metric thread is cut to exacting tolerances, ensuring that when installed into ARRMA's pre-tapped holes or threaded brass inserts, the screw provides consistent clamping force without risk of cross-threading or assembly damage. The 10mm length has been calculated to provide optimal engagement depth — typically 6-8mm of thread penetration into the receiving component — which ensures maximum holding strength whilst avoiding the risk of the screw bottoming out and creating mechanical lock-up that could strip threads or damage delicate RC components. The hexagonal socket drive accommodates standard metric hex keys (typically 3mm for M4 fasteners), allowing RC enthusiasts to apply controlled torque during assembly and maintenance. The machine thread profile (as opposed to wood screw or sheet metal screw threads) is designed specifically for use in pre-drilled holes with matching threads, a common construction method in high-quality RC models where precision and repeatability are essential. The black finish applied to these screws is not purely cosmetic; it provides a degree of corrosion resistance, helping the fasteners maintain their integrity when exposed to outdoor elements, dust, moisture and the general wear and tear of regular RC driving sessions. Each screw is individually manufactured to specification, and the pack of ten ensures you have adequate spares for emergency repairs, routine maintenance, or building custom RC setups where multiple set screws might be required for secure assembly of gears, shafts and other critical drivetrain components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are set screws used for on RC cars? — Set screws, also called grub screws, are used to secure components like gears, motor shafts, pulleys and slipper clutch gears onto drive shafts and axles in RC vehicles. Unlike standard bolts, they sit flush and allow for a compact, lightweight assembly — critical features in precision RC car engineering.
- Will these ARRMA set screws fit my RC buggy or RC monster truck? — These M4x10mm set screws are designed for ARRMA vehicles that use this size specification. Compatibility depends on your specific ARRMA model; check your vehicle's manual or parts diagram to confirm the correct screw size. When in doubt, consult with RC Model Shop staff who can advise on fitment for your specific ready to run RC car or competition model.
- How do I install set screws correctly? — Set screws should be installed into pre-tapped holes that match the M4 thread specification. Use a correctly-sized hex key (typically 3mm for M4) and apply firm, controlled pressure to avoid stripping the socket. Tighten until snug, but do not over-tighten, as this can damage the threads in the receiving component.
- Why would I need spare set screws? — Set screws can occasionally become loose or stripped during high-performance driving, racing or bashing. Having spare screws on hand allows you to quickly replace damaged or missing fasteners and get your RC car back on the track or field without waiting for delivery of replacement parts. Additionally, if you're building a high-end competition vehicle or upgrading your brushless RC model, you may need additional set screws.
- Are these original ARRMA parts? — Yes, the Z-AR724410 is an official ARRMA spare part, manufactured to OEM specifications and quality standards. Purchasing genuine ARRMA spares ensures perfect compatibility and reliability in your RC vehicle.
- What makes these different from generic set screws? — ARRMA's set screws are engineered and manufactured to precise tolerances that match their vehicle designs. Generic fasteners may have slightly different thread pitches, lengths or metallurgy, which could result in poor fitment, reduced clamping force, or potential component damage. Official spares guarantee compatibility and performance.
