Overview

The ARRMA Set Screw 4x3mm (10) Z-AR724403 is an essential spare part for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliable performance from their models. Whether you run an ARRMA RC car UK collection or maintain a fleet of RC vehicles for weekend bashing and competitive racing, these precision-engineered set screws are an indispensable component for secure assembly and reliable operation. Set screws are critical fasteners that lock components in place, preventing slippage and ensuring your RC car performs consistently on the track or off-road terrain.

As a dedicated RC hobby retailer, we understand that serious RC enthusiasts and beginners alike need access to genuine OEM spare parts that match the exacting standards of their models. The ARRMA brand has built a reputation for delivering high-quality RC vehicles and components, and these set screws are manufactured to the same rigorous standards. Whether you're rebuilding your RC car after a bash, performing routine maintenance, or replacing worn fasteners, having a pack of ten quality set screws ensures you'll always have spares on hand when you need them most.

These black machine thread set screws are designed specifically for ARRMA vehicles and components, offering the precision fit and reliable performance that competitive and casual RC car enthusiasts depend on. In the RC car UK market, choosing genuine parts from trusted retailers like RC Model Shop ensures your investment in quality RC equipment continues to perform at its best.

Key Features

  • M4 Thread Size — These set screws feature M4 threading, which is a standard specification for ARRMA RC components, ensuring precise fit and compatibility with your ARRMA vehicle's fastening points and ensuring secure, vibration-resistant assembly.
  • 3mm Length — The 3mm length specification makes these set screws ideal for grub screw applications where shorter fasteners are required, particularly for locking shafts, pulleys and gears into position on your RC car without protruding excessively.
  • Hex Driver Type — The hex socket design allows for controlled tightening using standard hex Allen keys, providing excellent torque transfer and reducing the risk of stripping or damaging the screw head during assembly and maintenance of your RC vehicle.
  • Grub Head Type — Grub screws feature a flush, recessed head that sits flush with the component surface, meaning they won't catch on other parts or create unnecessary drag, maintaining the aerodynamic and mechanical integrity of your RC car's assembly.
  • Machine Thread Construction — Machine threading provides consistent, reliable engagement with threaded holes, delivering secure locking without relying on thread-locking adhesive, making these ideal for components that require regular adjustment and maintenance.
  • Pack of 10 — This convenient pack contains ten individual set screws, ensuring you have multiple replacements on hand for your RC car collection, spares for future maintenance, and backup fasteners should any be lost or damaged during use.
  • Black Finish — The black colour finish provides a professional appearance and helps these fasteners blend seamlessly with ARRMA vehicle components whilst offering corrosion resistance for outdoor RC car UK racing and bashing sessions.

Technical Performance

These ARRMA Set Screws represent precision fastening engineering designed specifically for the exacting demands of RC vehicle operation. The M4 thread specification combined with the 3mm length creates an optimal fastening solution for grub screw applications where secure locking of shafts, gears and pulleys is essential for consistent RC car performance. The hex socket design enables controlled application of torque using standard hex Allen keys, critical for avoiding over-tightening which could strip threads or damage delicate RC components. The machine thread construction delivers consistent engagement with pre-threaded holes, eliminating the need for thread-locking adhesive whilst maintaining the flexibility required for regular maintenance and adjustment. The black finish provides both aesthetic consistency with ARRMA vehicles and practical corrosion resistance, important for RC enthusiasts operating in varied UK weather conditions. Each screw in this pack of ten has been manufactured to ARRMA's quality standards, ensuring dimensional accuracy and thread consistency across the entire set. For serious RC car UK competitors and weekend bashers alike, having a reliable supply of genuine OEM set screws means you can keep your vehicles running reliably without the frustration of stripped fasteners or poor component engagement.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are set screws used for on RC cars? — Set screws, also known as grub screws, are fasteners specifically designed to lock components like motor shafts, gear hubs, pulleys and drive couplings securely in place. Unlike conventional screws that pass through two components, set screws feature a cone or flat point that digs into a component's surface, creating a powerful mechanical lock that prevents slippage and rotation, which is essential for maintaining consistent performance in high-performance RC vehicles.
  • Are these screws compatible with all ARRMA RC vehicles? — These M4 x 3mm set screws are genuine ARRMA spare parts designed for use with compatible ARRMA vehicle models. Before ordering, check your specific model's parts diagram to confirm that M4 x 3mm grub screws are the correct specification for your vehicle, as different ARRMA models may use different fastener sizes.
  • Do I need thread-locking compound with these set screws? — The machine thread construction of these set screws provides reliable locking without requiring thread-locking adhesive, though some RC enthusiasts choose to apply light thread-locker compound for added security during high-vibration racing conditions. Always check your ARRMA manual for specific recommendations regarding fastener assembly.
  • How often should I replace set screws on my RC car? — Set screws should be inspected regularly and replaced if they become stripped, damaged or lose their holding ability. For frequent bashers and competitive racers, inspecting fasteners as part of routine maintenance ensures components remain secure and performance remains consistent throughout the RC car UK racing season.
  • What makes genuine ARRMA parts different from generic fasteners? — Genuine ARRMA parts like these set screws are engineered to precise specifications matching your vehicle's design, ensuring perfect fit and reliable performance. Generic fasteners may vary in thread consistency, material hardness and dimensional accuracy, potentially causing assembly issues or premature failure that could damage your RC vehicle during use.
