Overview

The ARRMA Button Head Screw 3x35mm (10) Z-AR721335 is an essential spare part for RC enthusiasts in the UK who own ARRMA vehicles or need high-quality replacement fasteners for their RC cars and trucks. These precision-manufactured screws are built to withstand the demanding conditions of RC motorsport, whether you're bashing around the garden, competing at the track, or maintaining your brushless RC monster truck. As a dedicated RC car UK retailer, we stock genuine ARRMA components that are engineered to the exact specifications your model requires.

Button head screws are a critical component in any RC build or maintenance routine. Unlike standard fasteners, these screws feature a distinctive button head design combined with a hex socket driver, offering superior grip and reduced risk of stripping compared to traditional Phillips or slot-head screws. This makes them ideal for frequent assembly and disassembly, which is common when tuning, maintaining, or upgrading your ready-to-run RC vehicle. Whether you're a beginner learning the ropes of RC customisation or an experienced basher who demands reliable parts, having quality spare screws on hand is essential for keeping your RC hobby enjoyable and frustration-free.

ARRMA is renowned throughout the RC community for manufacturing durable, competition-grade components that perform consistently under pressure. These button head screws are no exception, manufactured from super-tough material that resists corrosion and maintains structural integrity even after repeated use. The M3 specification and 35mm length make these screws compatible with a range of ARRMA models, particularly the popular Quake 223S DSC 2WD RTR Brushless Monster Truck range, making this an indispensable part for anyone running these vehicles.

Key Features

  • Button Head Hex Design — The distinctive button head combined with a hex socket provides superior engagement compared to Phillips or slot-head alternatives, meaning less chance of stripping the driver or screw head during installation or removal. This design is particularly valuable when working with tight tolerances in compact RC vehicles where space is at a premium.
  • Precision Manufactured Thread — Each screw is manufactured to exacting specifications, ensuring consistent thread quality and reliable fastening across all ten pieces in the pack. Precision threading prevents cross-threading, stripped holes, and unreliable connections that could compromise your vehicle's performance or safety during operation.
  • Super-Tough Material Construction — Manufactured from high-quality, durable material that resists corrosion, wear, and material fatigue, these screws maintain their integrity through countless assembly and disassembly cycles. This durability is particularly important in RC vehicles where fasteners experience vibration, shock loads, and the occasional impact during crashes or aggressive driving.
  • Machine Thread Specification — The machine thread type ensures compatibility with existing threaded holes in your ARRMA vehicle or compatible RC models. Machine threads differ from wood screws and self-tapping screws, providing a clean, professional fastening solution that won't enlarge or damage threaded holes.
  • Black Colour Finish — The black finish provides excellent corrosion resistance and gives your RC build a professional, consistent appearance. The dark colour also helps hide any minor wear marks during use, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of your vehicle.
  • Pack of Ten Screws — Each pack contains ten individual screws, providing enough spares for multiple repairs, upgrades, and maintenance sessions. Having multiple screws on hand means you're never caught short when a fastener is lost, stripped, or damaged.

Technical Performance

The M3x35mm specification places these button head screws in the sweet spot for modern 1/10-scale RC vehicles and many other popular scales in the RC car UK market. The 3mm diameter provides sufficient clamping force for typical RC applications whilst remaining small enough to fit compact assembly points without creating stress concentrations. The 35mm length is ideal for through-bolts and fastening applications where moderate standoff is required, such as attaching suspension components, body posts, or internal chassis braces. The hex socket driver (also called Allen key or hex key) accepts standard hex bits, making installation straightforward with readily available tools that any RC enthusiast should have in their toolkit. The machine thread type is specifically designed to work with pre-drilled threaded holes rather than cutting its own path, ensuring clean fastening and maintaining the integrity of the hole for repeated use. Build quality is exceptional throughout, with consistent material hardness, thread pitch, and head geometry that you'd expect from a manufacturer with ARRMA's reputation for precision engineering. Whether you're assembling a new vehicle fresh from the box or maintaining a well-used basher, these screws deliver the reliability and performance that serious RC enthusiasts demand.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What vehicles are these ARRMA button head screws compatible with? — These M3x35mm button head screws are specifically listed as compatible with the Arrma 1/10 Quake 223S DSC 2WD RTR Brushless Monster Truck range, which includes the green, red, and purple variants. However, they may be suitable for other ARRMA vehicles and compatible RC models that use M3 fasteners. We recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our team at RC Model Shop if you're unsure about compatibility with your specific model.
  • Why should I choose button head screws instead of other fastener types? — Button head screws offer several advantages over Phillips head, slot head, and pan head alternatives. The hex socket design provides better grip and reduced risk of the driver slipping, which means less chance of stripping either the screw head or the fastening tool. Button heads also sit neatly flush or slightly proud of the surface, creating a professional appearance without the sharp edges of countersunk screws. For RC applications where repeated assembly and disassembly is common, button head screws are the professional choice.
  • How many screws come in this pack and what should I use them for? — Each pack contains ten individual M3x35mm button head screws. Ten screws are sufficient for several repairs, replacements, or a full maintenance session. We recommend keeping spare packs on hand if you're an active RC enthusiast, as fasteners can be lost, stripped, or damaged during normal use. Common applications include chassis bracing, suspension component fastening, body post attachment, and internal structural reinforcement.
  • What is machine thread and how does it differ from self-tapping screws? — Machine screws are designed to work with pre-drilled threaded holes and require the matching threaded insert to be already present. They differ from self-tapping screws, which cut their own thread path as they're installed. Machine screws provide cleaner, more professional fastening for precision applications where threads are already established, making them ideal for RC vehicles where precise assembly and repeated disassembly is necessary.
  • Are these button head screws suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Button head screws are actually an excellent choice for beginners because the hex socket design is forgiving and straightforward to use with standard hex key tools. Unlike Phillips head screws, which are prone to stripping if the wrong bit size is used, button head screws accommodate the correctly sized hex bit securely and reliably. If you're new to RC and learning to maintain and customise your vehicle, these screws will give you confidence and reliable performance.
  • What tools do I need to install these screws? — Installation requires only a correctly sized hex key (Allen key) or hex bit. For M3 fasteners, you'll typically need a 2.5mm or 3mm hex key depending on the specific socket size. Most RC enthusiasts already have a set of hex keys in their toolkit, so you likely won't need to purchase anything additional. Always use the correct size to avoid slipping and stripping the socket.
