Overview

The ARRMA Ball Bearing 12x18x4mm (2) Z-AR610007 is an essential replacement bearing set designed for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision and reliability in their RC cars and trucks. Whether you're running an ARRMA RC vehicle, a brushless RC buggy, or any other RC model that utilises these standard bearing dimensions, this pair of high-quality ball bearings ensures your RC car maintains ultra-smooth operation in all conditions. These premium ball-raced bearings are precision manufactured to the exacting standards ARRMA is recognised for, making them the ideal choice for weekend bashers, competition racers, and everyone in between.

Ball bearings are critical components in any RC vehicle, as they enable smooth rotation of axles, driveshafts and wheel hubs with minimal friction and maximum efficiency. Over time, even the best-quality bearings can wear out through regular use, dirt ingress, or water exposure, which is why having genuine replacement bearings on hand is essential maintenance practice for serious RC hobbyists. The ARRMA Z-AR610007 bearing set provides a cost-effective way to restore your RC car to factory specifications and ensure consistent performance whether you're racing competitively or enjoying casual backyard bashing sessions.

These bearings come as a pair, making them suitable for replacing bearings in various locations on your RC chassis. With their double steel protective shields, superior manufacturing tolerances, and premium construction, the ARRMA Ball Bearing 12x18x4mm set represents a genuine upgrade or reliable replacement option for RC model shops, hobby shops, and dedicated RC enthusiasts across the United Kingdom.

Key Features

  • Premium Ball-Raced Bearings — These are high-quality precision ball bearings that feature proper ball-race construction, which provides ultra-smooth operation in all conditions, whether you're running your RC vehicle in wet weather, dusty environments, or competitive racing scenarios. This ensures your RC car or truck maintains consistent performance and responsiveness across diverse conditions.
  • Precision Manufactured for Fast and Easy Fit — Every bearing in this set has been precision engineered to exacting tolerances, meaning installation is straightforward and hassle-free. You won't need to file, adjust, or modify these bearings to fit your RC chassis—they're ready to drop in and start working immediately, saving you time on maintenance and servicing.
  • Super-Consistent Tolerance for Safe and Secure Assembly — Manufacturing consistency is paramount in RC hobby components. These bearings are manufactured to super-consistent tolerance specifications, which means you can confidently install them knowing they'll perform reliably without play, wobbling, or premature wear. This consistency ensures safe, secure assembly operation and extends the lifespan of your bearings and associated components.
  • Double Steel Protective Shields — Each bearing features double steel protective shields that guard against dirt, dust, water contamination, and other debris that could compromise bearing performance. This added durability extends the service life of your bearings and means you'll spend less time cleaning and maintaining your RC car and more time enjoying it.
  • Pair Pack Format — The Z-AR610007 comes with two bearings per pack, providing you with a matched pair suitable for numerous applications within your RC vehicle, whether that's replacing both front wheel bearings, both rear wheel bearings, or other drivetrain components that utilise this bearing size.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Ball Bearing 12x18x4mm Z-AR610007 represents the company's commitment to engineering excellence and reliability in RC components. These bearings feature a 12mm inner diameter and 18mm outer diameter with a 4mm width, making them suitable for a wide range of ARRMA vehicles and compatible RC models. The precision ball-raced design minimises rolling resistance whilst maintaining lateral stability, which directly translates to improved efficiency, faster acceleration response, and extended battery runtime when powering your RC buggy, truck, or other electric RC vehicle. The double steel protective shields are engineered from hardened steel, providing exceptional protection against the elements whilst remaining thin enough to avoid adding unnecessary rotational mass that would compromise performance. The manufacturing process ensures that both bearings in each pair are identical in performance characteristics, meaning they deliver uniform operation whether installed in symmetric locations like left and right wheels or sequential positions in a multi-bearing assembly. These are genuine ARRMA components, built to the same quality specifications as factory-supplied bearings, ensuring compatibility and reliability with your RC equipment. Whether you're replacing worn bearings as routine maintenance on your RC car or upgrading from lower-quality aftermarket alternatives, these precision bearings will restore or enhance the smoothness and efficiency of your RC vehicle's drivetrain.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these bearings suitable for all ARRMA RC vehicles? — The ARRMA Ball Bearing 12x18x4mm Z-AR610007 is designed as a replacement bearing set for ARRMA RC vehicles that use this specific bearing size. Check your vehicle's manual or parts diagram to confirm whether your particular ARRMA model uses 12x18x4mm bearings. These bearings are also compatible with many other RC brands that utilise standard metric bearing sizes.
  • How often should I replace bearings in my RC car? — Bearing lifespan depends on usage intensity, maintenance, and environmental conditions. If you run your RC vehicle frequently in muddy or wet conditions without regular cleaning, bearings may require replacement every few months. With proper maintenance—rinsing your RC car after use and allowing bearings to dry—they can last much longer. Replace bearings immediately if you notice grinding noises, rough rotation, or excessive play in wheels or drivetrain components.
  • What's the difference between shielded and sealed bearings? — These bearings feature double steel protective shields, which provide excellent protection against dirt and debris whilst remaining easy to clean. Fully sealed bearings offer maximum protection but can be more difficult to service and may have slightly higher friction. For most RC hobby use, shielded bearings like these represent the optimal balance between protection, performance, and maintainability.
  • Can I use these bearings as an upgrade on non-ARRMA vehicles? — Yes, provided your RC vehicle uses 12x18x4mm metric bearings. Many RC brands, including Losi, Traxxas, FTX, and others, use standard metric bearing sizes. The precision manufacturing and protective shields of the ARRMA Z-AR610007 make them suitable as a high-quality replacement on any compatible RC model, potentially upgrading you from lower-spec original bearings.
  • How do I install these bearings? — Installation is straightforward: remove the old bearing using appropriate bearing pullers or drift tools, clean the bearing bore thoroughly, and press or slide the new bearing into place until it seats fully. Always ensure bearings are installed straight and fully seated to avoid binding or play. If you're uncomfortable with bearing installation, your local RC hobby shop can assist with fitting.
  • Are these suitable for beginners? — Bearing replacement is an intermediate RC maintenance task that most hobbyists can perform with basic tools and mechanical knowledge. Beginners comfortable with basic RC servicing will find bearing replacement straightforward, though those new to the hobby may want to ask an experienced RC friend or local hobby shop staff for guidance on their first bearing change.
