Overview
The ARRMA Shock Piston Set (2) Z-AR330339 is an essential tuning and replacement component for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand consistent shock performance from their ARRMA vehicles. Whether you're a serious competitor fine-tuning your race setup or a weekend basher looking to replace worn suspension components, this comprehensive piston set delivers the flexibility and quality you need. Shock pistons are critical to how your RC car handles bumps, absorbs impacts and maintains traction through varied terrain — making them one of the most important suspension tuning elements available to RC car UK buyers.
This high-quality shock piston set provides both replacement parts for your original kit-supplied items and multiple tuning options for adjusting your shock absorber performance without expensive upgrades. The inclusion of pre-drilled pistons in three different hole configurations plus blank pistons means you can experiment with various setups to find the perfect balance for your driving style and track conditions. Unlike generic shock components, ARRMA's engineered shock pistons are specifically designed for compatibility with a wide range of ARRMA models, from the powerful Infraction 6S BLX through to the massive 1/7 scale LIMITLESS 8S AVC platform.
For any RC model UK enthusiast serious about maximising suspension performance, this shock piston set represents genuine value and versatility. The ability to switch between different damping configurations by simply changing pistons lets you adapt your vehicle to wet conditions, smooth tracks, rough terrain or high-speed runs without purchasing entirely new shocks.
Key Features
- Multiple Pre-Drilled Piston Configurations — The set includes pistons drilled with 6 holes in three different diameters (1.2mm, 1.3mm and 1.4mm), allowing you to quickly adjust shock damping and compression characteristics by selecting the configuration that suits your driving conditions, without needing specialist tools or custom drilling.
- Blank Pistons for Custom Tuning — Four blank pistons are included specifically for custom hole drilling, giving advanced tuners complete control over damping rates and enabling experimentation with hole sizes and patterns not available in standard configurations.
- Strong Durable Composite Material — Manufactured from high-quality composite material, these shock pistons deliver long-lasting performance and consistent shock action across all driving conditions, resisting wear and maintaining reliability through countless runs and practice sessions.
- Fast and Easy Shock Action Adjustments — The various shock piston hole configurations enable rapid shock adjustments without requiring complex suspension geometry changes, making it simple to dial in the perfect setup for different tracks or weather conditions.
- Comprehensive Accessory Components — Beyond the pistons themselves, this set includes shock O-ring spacers and shock bottom cap guides, providing all the components typically needed for shock maintenance and replacement work.
- Genuine ARRMA Quality — As an official ARRMA spare part, these pistons are engineered to exact specifications and guaranteed compatible with your vehicle, ensuring reliable performance and proper fitment every time.
Technical Performance
Shock pistons are fundamental suspension components that control how quickly fluid moves through your shock absorber during compression and extension cycles. The diameter and number of holes drilled through the piston directly affect damping rates — smaller holes create higher damping resistance, whilst larger holes allow faster fluid movement and softer suspension response. This ARRMA Shock Piston Set delivers engineering excellence through its high-quality composite construction, which resists degradation from repeated cycling and maintains consistent damping characteristics across countless runs. The inclusion of three pre-drilled configurations (1.2mm, 1.3mm and 1.4mm hole sizes) with two pistons of each specification gives you six factory-tuned options to choose from, whilst the four blank pistons allow unlimited customisation for serious tuners seeking competition-grade setups. The shock O-ring spacers and bottom cap guides included in the package complete the suspension refresh, ensuring your shocks operate at peak efficiency and your vehicle maintains predictable handling through all driving situations.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What do shock pistons do and why would I need to replace them? — Shock pistons control how your suspension compresses and extends by regulating fluid flow through the shock absorber. Over time, pistons wear and can develop small leaks or lose their precision fit, reducing damping consistency and causing poor handling. Replacement pistons restore your shocks to proper working condition, whilst alternative piston configurations let you tune damping rates to suit different track conditions, weather and driving styles.
- Can I use different piston configurations to tune my ARRMA RC car? — Absolutely. The smaller 1.2mm holes create firmer, more controlled damping ideal for high-speed tracks and smooth surfaces, whilst the larger 1.4mm holes allow softer, more compliant suspension perfect for rough terrain and obstacle courses. The 1.3mm configuration sits between these extremes as a versatile middle ground for general bashing and mixed conditions. Testing different configurations is an excellent way to optimise your vehicle's handling without expensive suspension upgrades.
- What's the difference between the pre-drilled pistons and blank pistons in this set? — The pre-drilled pistons come ready to use in three factory-tested configurations, whilst blank pistons are supplied undrilled for advanced tuners who want to experiment with custom hole patterns, sizes or quantities not available in standard options. Blank piston drilling requires precision tools and careful measuring but offers unlimited tuning possibilities.
- Are these shock pistons genuine ARRMA parts? — Yes, the Z-AR330339 is an official ARRMA spare part manufactured to exact OEM specifications, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliability with your vehicle. Choosing genuine ARRMA components guarantees proper fitment and performance compared to generic or third-party alternatives.
- Is this shock piston set difficult to install? — Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance experience. You simply remove your shock from the vehicle, carefully disassemble it, swap the old piston for your chosen new one, then reassemble and reinstall. Most experienced RC bashers can complete a shock piston change in just a few minutes.
- Will this set fit my specific ARRMA model? — This set is compatible with Infraction 6S BLX, 1/7 LIMITLESS 8S AVC 4x4 RTR BLX, and MOJAVE 6S V2 BLX models. Always verify your vehicle's exact model number before purchasing to confirm compatibility, as ARRMA produces many different platforms with varied suspension designs.
