Overview

The ARRMA Dogbone 135mm (Z-AR310460) is an essential replacement drivetrain component for RC enthusiasts running ARRMA's high-performance 6S models. This super-tough dogbone is engineered to withstand the extreme stresses of high-speed RC car driving, making it the perfect spare part for anyone serious about maintaining their RC vehicle in top condition. Whether you're a dedicated basher pushing your RC car to its limits on the UK's diverse terrain, or a competitive racer demanding reliability during important events, this precision-manufactured dogbone delivers the durability and performance you need.

ARRMA has built a formidable reputation in the RC hobby community for creating vehicles that can handle aggressive driving conditions. The Dogbone 135mm is a direct testament to this engineering excellence. Designed specifically for compatibility with ARRMA's MOJAVE 6S V2 BLX models, this component is built to the same exacting standards as the original equipment fitted to these powerful brushless RC cars. For RC car UK enthusiasts who demand authentic OEM spares, this is the genuine article that keeps your drivetrain performing at peak efficiency.

When you're running a high-powered brushless RC car, every component in the drivetrain plays a critical role in translating motor power to the wheels. The dogbone—also known as a centre driveshaft—is one of the most heavily loaded parts of your transmission system. This is precisely why ARRMA manufactures their dogbones from super-strong steel rather than lesser materials. Whether you've damaged your original through hard driving or you're simply building a spare drivetrain assembly for your RC monster truck or stadium truck, this 135mm dogbone is an investment in reliability and performance that will keep your ARRMA running strong for seasons to come.

Key Features

  • Super-strong steel construction — Manufactured from premium steel rather than plastic or weaker alloys, this dogbone delivers exceptional durability and resistance to shearing forces, which is critical when transmitting power from a 6S brushless motor through a high-speed transmission.
  • Precision-manufactured design — Every dogbone is engineered to exacting tolerances to ensure perfect fit and function with your differential outdrives, eliminating play and maintaining optimal power delivery to your wheels.
  • Precision Drive Pins for secure fitting — The included drive pins are manufactured to match your differential outdrives perfectly, providing a safe and secure connection that prevents slipping and maintains consistent performance during aggressive driving.
  • Perfect replacement for ARRMA MOJAVE 6S V2 models — Designed and engineered by ARRMA as OEM equipment, this dogbone integrates seamlessly with genuine ARRMA drivetrains, ensuring you maintain factory performance standards.
  • Long-lasting durability in all conditions — Whether you're driving on tarmac, grass, dirt, or concrete, the robust steel construction ensures your dogbone remains reliable through countless bashings and races.
  • Single dogbone per pack — This pack contains one 135mm dogbone, perfect for rebuilding a damaged drivetrain or building a complete spare transmission assembly.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Dogbone 135mm represents the pinnacle of drivetrain engineering for high-performance RC vehicles. At 135mm in length, this component is specifically proportioned for the MOJAVE 6S V2 BLX platform, a model renowned for delivering serious performance through brushless motor technology and powerful 6S LiPo battery compatibility. The dogbone is the critical link between your vehicle's differential and outdrives, and when you're running a brushless ESC pushing maximum current through a high-torque motor, this component experiences tremendous shearing forces with every acceleration and corner. ARRMA's decision to manufacture this part from super-strong steel is not arbitrary—it's a necessity for reliability. The precision manufacturing ensures that the drive pins interface perfectly with your differential outdrives, maintaining zero backlash and guaranteeing that every ounce of motor torque is transmitted directly to the wheels. This is particularly important for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand vehicles that can perform consistently across the varied terrain found in our landscape, from muddy fields to rocky off-road courses. The 135mm length is optimised for the MOJAVE platform's geometry, ensuring proper suspension articulation and maintaining correct drivetrain angles under load and during compression.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a dogbone in an RC car and why is it important? — A dogbone, also known as a centre driveshaft, is a critical drivetrain component that transfers power from your vehicle's differential to the wheel outdrives. In high-performance brushless RC cars like the ARRMA MOJAVE 6S V2 BLX, the dogbone experiences enormous shearing forces during acceleration, cornering, and high-speed runs. When it fails or becomes damaged, your vehicle will lose power delivery to affected wheels. Replacing it with a quality OEM part like this ARRMA Dogbone 135mm ensures your RC car maintains full performance.
  • Is this compatible with my ARRMA model? — This dogbone is specifically designed for the ARRMA MOJAVE 6S V2 BLX (available in Red/Black or Green/Black colour schemes). If you own a different ARRMA model such as the KRATON or other variants, you should verify compatibility with your vehicle's specifications before purchasing. The 135mm length and drive pin specifications are optimised for MOJAVE 6S V2 platforms.
  • What causes dogbones to fail in RC cars? — Dogbones typically fail due to shearing forces when driving at high speed, launching off jumps, hard cornering with throttle applied, or when wheels hit obstacles and suddenly lose traction. The sudden load transfer can cause the dogbone to snap or bend. Additionally, wear from normal driving eventually weakens the material. Having a spare dogbone on hand means you can get back to driving quickly without waiting for delivery.
  • How difficult is it to replace a dogbone in my RC car? — Replacing a dogbone is a moderately advanced task that requires removing the wheels, suspension components, and potentially the differential housing depending on your vehicle's design. You'll need basic RC tools including allen keys and potentially pullers to remove the old drive pins. If you're new to RC car maintenance, we recommend consulting your vehicle's manual or watching instructional videos before attempting replacement. Alternatively, many UK RC shops offer maintenance services.
  • Why choose the genuine ARRMA dogbone over aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine ARRMA parts are engineered and tested by the manufacturer to work perfectly with your specific model. The precision manufacturing ensures exact tolerances, perfect drive pin fitment, and materials that match the vehicle's design specifications. Using genuine OEM spares means you maintain factory performance standards and avoid potential fitment issues that can occur with some aftermarket alternatives.
  • Do I need any other parts to install this dogbone? — You may need replacement drive pins if your existing ones are damaged, though the source indicates this dogbone includes precision-manufactured drive pins. You'll also need basic RC tools for disassembly and reassembly. Depending on the condition of your outdrives, you might need to inspect them for wear and damage while the dogbone is removed.
