Key Features
- 9g Compact Size — The lightweight 9-gram design minimises weight on your RC aeroplane, allowing for better flight characteristics, improved responsiveness and more efficient power utilisation, which is critical for small-scale aircraft performance.
- Metal Gear Construction — Metal gears provide superior durability and torque transmission compared to plastic alternatives, ensuring the servo can handle repeated control inputs and maintain accuracy throughout the servo's operational lifespan.
- Sub-Micro Classification — Purpose-built for small RC aircraft applications, the sub-micro size allows integration into tight fuselage spaces whilst delivering the control precision required for stable, predictable flight behaviour.
- 20-Tooth Spline — The 20-tooth spline provides secure connection to control linkages, ensuring reliable mechanical coupling and preventing slippage during aggressive control deflections.
- Bearing Support — Integrated bearing support reduces friction and wear, enabling smooth, responsive servo operation with minimal dead zone, which directly translates to more precise aircraft control.
- Analog Servo Technology — Analogue servo control ensures straightforward integration with standard RC receiver systems, making this servo compatible with established RC radio systems and eliminating the need for complex digital protocols.
- 18.3mm Depth — The compact profile fits easily into shallow mounting spaces typical of RC aeroplane construction, maximising internal volume for battery and equipment whilst maintaining structural integrity.
Technical Performance
The Spektrum A332 9g Sub-Micro MG Servo represents a carefully engineered balance between lightweight design and mechanical robustness. The metal gear system delivers consistent torque output whilst maintaining the low mass essential for RC aeroplane applications where every gram impacts flight characteristics. The servo's bearing-supported construction reduces internal friction, enabling faster response times and more accurate control signal translation compared to simpler friction-based designs. The compact 18.3-millimetre length allows seamless integration into space-constrained aircraft designs, making this servo ideal for everything from foam trainers to lightweight composite competition models. The 20-tooth spline specification provides adequate mechanical interface for various control horn configurations, whilst the analogue control protocol ensures universal compatibility across the RC hobby without requiring specialised receiver modules. For RC enthusiasts building or upgrading aircraft in the UK, this servo combines proven Spektrum engineering with the specific performance characteristics demanded by serious aeroplane pilots. The metal gear construction is particularly important for sustained flight operations, where repeated control inputs at varying speeds and loads require durable, consistent mechanical performance over extended periods.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Spektrum A332 servo suitable for small RC aeroplane projects? — Yes, the A332 is specifically designed as a sub-micro servo for RC aeroplane applications. The 9-gram weight and compact 18.3mm profile make it ideal for small to medium-sized RC aircraft where minimising weight is essential for optimal flight performance. The metal gear construction ensures reliable control through repeated flight cycles.
- What does sub-micro servo mean and why does it matter for RC aeroplanes? — Sub-micro servos are the smallest category of RC servos, designed specifically for lightweight applications like RC aeroplanes where every gram affects performance. The A332's compact size allows builders to position servos efficiently within the airframe whilst maintaining the precise control authority needed for stable, predictable flight characteristics.
- What is the 20-tooth spline and why is it important? — The 20-tooth spline is the mechanical connection interface between the servo output shaft and control horns. This standard specification ensures compatibility with a wide range of control linkages and allows secure, slip-free transmission of control inputs from the receiver to aircraft control surfaces like ailerons, elevators and rudders.
- Is the A332 servo compatible with my RC radio system? — The A332 is an analogue servo that works with any standard RC receiver supporting analogue servo control, which includes virtually all established RC radio systems used in RC aeroplane flying. This universal compatibility makes integration straightforward, whether you're using legacy systems or modern Spektrum radio equipment.
- What is the difference between metal gear and plastic gear servos? — Metal gear servos like the A332 offer superior durability, higher torque capacity and greater resistance to wear compared to plastic gear alternatives. For RC aeroplane applications involving repeated control inputs and sustained operational use, metal gears provide significantly longer service life and more consistent performance characteristics.
- Does the A332 servo have bearing support and why does this matter? — Yes, the A332 includes bearing support that reduces internal friction and wear, enabling faster response times and smoother servo operation. For RC aeroplanes, bearing-supported servos deliver more precise, lag-free control inputs, which directly improves flight handling and pilot responsiveness.
