This versatile component allows you to split a single receiver channel to control two servos or devices simultaneously, making it an essential accessory for RC car UK builders, aircraft modellers, and boat enthusiasts alike. Whether you're setting up dual ailerons on a trainer aircraft, controlling flaps on a scale RC plane, managing retractable landing gear, or operating dual servo systems for lighting or other dual-function applications, this Y-lead provides a straightforward way to expand your receiver output without requiring additional mixing equipment or complex wiring configurations.
Built to Logic RC's exacting standards, the Futaba Y-Lead (HD) features heavy-duty construction that ensures dependable signal transmission and long-term reliability in demanding RC applications. The 150mm length makes it the ideal choice for tidy installations in tight spaces, particularly useful in compact RC models where cable management is critical. This practical Y-harness works across a wide range of model types—from ready to run RC cars and brushless RC buggies to electric and nitro aircraft, helicopters, and boats. For UK RC hobbyists seeking quality connector leads without the premium pricing of larger alternatives, this 150mm Y-lead represents excellent value and builds upon Logic RC's reputation for producing essential receiver accessories that simply work.
The Futaba Y-Lead (HD) 150mm is immediately compatible with any radio system using Futaba-style servo connectors, making it a drop-in solution for your existing setup. No soldering required—simply connect and go. This makes it perfect for beginners exploring the world of RC models, experienced competitors fine-tuning their setups, and weekend bashers who appreciate straightforward, dependable components that reduce setup complexity and get them flying or driving faster.
Key Features
- Heavy-Duty (HD) Construction — The designation "HD" means this Y-lead is manufactured from reinforced materials designed to withstand the electrical demands and physical stresses of RC model use, ensuring durability through countless flight hours, track sessions, or water adventures. This construction quality means you can rely on consistent signal integrity even in challenging conditions.
- Compact 150mm Length — At 150mm, this Y-lead is specifically designed for installation in tight spaces where longer cables would create messy wiring or strain connections. This compact size makes it ideal for small-scale RC models, integrated receiver installations, and any application where cable management is a priority, helping you achieve a professional, tidy finish inside your model.
- Futaba-Style Servo Connectors — The Y-lead terminates in standard Futaba-format connectors, ensuring instant compatibility with any Futaba radio system and receiver. This widespread standard means you're unlikely to encounter any compatibility issues, and replacement connectors are readily available from RC retailers across the UK.
- Single Channel to Dual Output Functionality — By connecting this Y-lead to a single receiver output channel, you can simultaneously control two separate servos or electronic devices with identical, synchronised signals. This is invaluable for applications such as dual aileron control on aircraft, symmetrical flap operation, retract system activation, dual servo landing gear, or any scenario requiring two servos to move in perfect unison.
- No Additional Mixing Required — Unlike some alternative solutions, the Y-lead works passively without requiring a separate mixer unit or complex programming. The signal from your receiver is simply split and delivered to both connected servos, reducing overall system complexity and potential points of failure in your RC setup.
- Broad Compatibility Across RC Model Types — Whether you fly electric trainers, sport aircraft, scale models, 3D aerobatic planes, or electric ducted fan jets; drive brushless RC buggies, cars, or motorcycles; operate electric or nitro boats; or pilot helicopters and quadcopters, this Y-lead integrates seamlessly into any Futaba-equipped RC system, making it a universal accessory worth having in your spares kit.
Technical Performance
The Logic RC Futaba Y-Lead (HD) 150mm demonstrates professional-grade engineering throughout its design and construction. The heavy-duty designation indicates that this component has been specifically engineered to maintain signal integrity under the electrical and mechanical demands of modern RC applications. The connector design ensures secure, reliable mating with standard Futaba-format servo leads, with contacts precisely engineered to minimise resistance and prevent signal degradation. The 150mm overall length has been carefully specified to offer practical functionality in compact installations without sacrificing mechanical robustness. Construction materials are selected for longevity and reliability, with the capability to handle repeated connect-disconnect cycles without wearing or loosening. The Y-harness topology itself is electrically passive—there are no active components, amplifiers, or mixing circuits—which eliminates potential sources of signal noise or electrical interference. This straightforward signal path ensures that servo commands are transmitted cleanly and with minimal latency from your receiver to both connected servos, critical for responsive control especially in aerobatic aircraft or high-performance racing applications. The heavy-duty wire gauge and connector plating contribute to low-impedance signal delivery, maintaining the quality of your transmitter's commands throughout the entire control chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a Y-lead and why would I need one in my RC setup? — A Y-lead is a simple cable splitter that takes a single servo output from your receiver and divides it into two identical signals, allowing you to control two servos or devices simultaneously from one receiver channel. You need this whenever you want two servos to move together in perfect synchronisation—common examples include dual aileron control on aircraft (where both wing ailerons must move together), symmetrical flap operation, dual servo landing gear systems, or any application requiring coordinated dual-servo control without relying on your radio's mixing functions.
- Is the Logic RC Futaba Y-Lead suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This is one of the simplest RC accessories to use—there's no soldering, programming, or complicated setup required. Simply plug it into your receiver's servo output port and connect your two servos to the two connector ports on the Y-lead. If you're building your first ready to run RC car, assembling an aircraft, or expanding a brushless RC model, this Y-lead makes dual-servo control straightforward and accessible.
- Why choose the 150mm length over a longer Y-lead? — The 150mm compact length is specifically designed for tight spaces inside RC model fuselages, chassis cavities, and integrated receiver installations. If you're building a scale aircraft, a compact quadcopter, or any model where internal space is limited, the 150mm length prevents excess cable bunching and helps you achieve a neat, professional wiring installation. If you need something longer for applications with more spacious fuselage or chassis layouts, Logic RC also offers 300mm Y-leads in both heavy-duty and silicone variants.
- What's the difference between HD (Heavy-Duty) and Silicone Y-leads? — The HD designation indicates standard heavy-duty construction suitable for most RC applications, offering excellent value and durability. Silicone variants feature silicone-insulated wire, which provides superior flexibility and is often preferred in applications requiring frequent flexing or operation in extreme temperatures. For typical RC model use, the HD version offers outstanding performance and reliability at competitive pricing.
- Will this work with my Futaba radio system? — Yes, the Logic RC Futaba Y-Lead (HD) 150mm uses standard Futaba-style servo connectors, making it fully compatible with any radio system using Futaba-format connectors. This includes all Futaba transmitters and receivers currently in circulation among UK RC hobbyists.
- Can I use a Y-lead for retractable landing gear on my RC aircraft? — Yes, this is one of the most popular applications for Y-leads in aircraft. If your retractable gear system uses two servos (one for left and one for right), you can connect the Y-lead to your receiver's landing gear channel, then connect both gear servos to the Y-lead's output ports, ensuring both servos deploy and retract in perfect synchronisation.
