Overview
The LOGIC Futaba Extension Lead (HD) 200mm is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts in the UK who need reliable servo extensions for their radio-controlled aircraft, cars, helicopters and other RC models. Whether you're setting up a new RC aircraft, configuring servo positions on your RC car, or expanding the reach of your receiver leads in tight spaces, this heavy-duty extension lead offers a neat and tidy solution. At 200mm in length, it strikes the perfect balance between adding useful extra reach without introducing excessive wiring clutter into your RC setup. This extension lead is specifically designed for Futaba-type plugs, making it compatible with an enormous range of Futaba radio systems and aftermarket Futaba-compatible receivers found across the UK RC hobby community.
Built by LOGIC RC, a trusted manufacturer of quality RC accessories and components, this extension lead combines professional-grade construction with affordability. The 200mm length is particularly useful when you need to route servo leads around body panels, through cable trays, or to extend reach from the receiver to servos mounted at different positions in your model. Whether you're a seasoned RC competitor fine-tuning your competition vehicle, a weekend basher enjoying outdoor RC car parks across the UK, or a beginner setting up your first RC model, having quality extension leads in various lengths is essential for any serious RC workshop. The Futaba type connector is one of the most widely used servo standards in the hobby, and this extension lead's versatility makes it an invaluable addition to your spares box.
Quality matters when it comes to electrical connections in RC models, and this heavy-duty extension lead has been engineered to deliver reliable performance in demanding conditions. Unlike cheaper alternatives that can suffer from poor connections, signal loss, or corrosion over time, this lead features gold-plated connections and high-quality mouldings that ensure crisp, clean servo response and long-term reliability. The robust construction means it can withstand the vibration, temperature fluctuations, and environmental conditions typical of RC flying and driving activities throughout the UK.
Key Features
- 200mm Length — This 200mm extension provides a practical amount of extra reach for servo leads and receiver connections without creating excessive cable runs that can clutter your RC model's interior or introduce unwanted capacitance that could affect radio signal quality.
- Heavy-Duty Construction — The extension lead is built with robust materials and quality mouldings designed to withstand repeated use, environmental exposure, and the mechanical stresses common in RC flying and driving, ensuring long-term durability even with frequent connection and disconnection cycles.
- Gold-Plated Connections — Gold plating provides superior electrical conductivity compared to standard connections and prevents corrosion from moisture and oxidation, ensuring clean signal transmission to your servos for precise, responsive control that won't degrade over time or with exposure to damp conditions typical in UK weather.
- High-Quality Mouldings and Wire — The connector housings and internal wiring are manufactured to professional standards using quality materials that resist cracking, provide strain relief, and maintain excellent electrical properties even after extended storage or exposure to temperature variations.
- Futaba-Type Compatibility — This extension lead works with all Futaba-type plugs, which includes genuine Futaba radio systems and the vast majority of aftermarket receivers and servo equipment that use the standard Futaba connector standard across the RC hobby in the UK and worldwide.
- Tidy Cable Management — The 200mm length is ideal for routing servo leads across mounting plates, through cable ducts, or between receiver and servos whilst maintaining a neat appearance inside your RC model's fuselage or chassis, which improves serviceability and reduces the risk of cable damage.
Technical Performance
This extension lead represents a straightforward but essential piece of RC electrical architecture. Built with high-quality copper wire and professional-grade connector housings, the heavy-duty construction ensures minimal signal loss and maximum reliability during operation. The gold-plated connections are particularly important for servo leads because they provide superior electrical contact, preventing the micro-arcing and resistance increases that can occur with standard nickel or brass connectors, especially in high-vibration environments or after repeated connection cycles. The quality mouldings protect the delicate internal wires from damage and provide strain relief at the connection points, which is critical because servo leads experience constant flexing during model operation and maintenance. At 200mm, this extension is long enough to solve most common routing challenges — whether you need to extend a receiver lead to a servo positioned further away, route wires around internal structures, or simply separate components for better weight distribution and serviceability. The Futaba connector standard is one of the most universally adopted servo standards in RC, used across aircraft, cars, helicopters, boats and other RC models, making this extension lead a versatile addition to any RC workshop. Whether you're building a high-performance racing RC car, a docile trainer aircraft for learning to fly, a scale model aircraft with detailed servo arrangements, or a weekend basher for rough terrain driving, this extension lead provides the reliable connection you need without compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this extension lead suitable for all Futaba radio systems? — Yes, this extension lead is designed for all Futaba-type plugs and is compatible with genuine Futaba radio systems as well as aftermarket receivers and equipment that use the standard Futaba connector. Whether you have a vintage Futaba radio or a modern system, this extension will work reliably with your setup.
- Why are gold-plated connections important in RC servo extensions? — Gold plating provides superior electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance compared to standard nickel or brass connectors. This means your servo signals remain clean and crisp even after extended storage, exposure to damp UK weather, or repeated connection and disconnection cycles. Poor connections can introduce signal noise, sluggish servo response, or complete signal loss at critical moments, so quality connections matter significantly.
- What is the difference between this 200mm extension and longer alternatives? — The 200mm length offers a balance between useful extra reach and keeping cable runs short enough to minimise signal degradation. Shorter extensions like the 100mm model provide minimal reach extension, whilst longer models like the 600mm or 1000mm extensions are better suited for situations where you need significant cable runs. The 200mm length is ideal for typical servo routing challenges without introducing unnecessary wiring complexity.
- Can I use this extension lead with aircraft, RC cars, helicopters and other RC models? — Absolutely. Because this extension lead uses the standard Futaba connector, it will work with any RC model — aircraft, cars, helicopters, boats, quadcopters and more — that uses Futaba-type servo connections. This universal compatibility makes it an essential spares item for any RC enthusiast with multiple models.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Using extension leads is straightforward and requires no special knowledge or tools. Simply plug one end into your receiver and the other into your servo, and you're done. It's a safe, non-technical upgrade that any beginner can implement with confidence.
- How durable is this extension lead for heavy use? — The heavy-duty construction with quality mouldings and wire, combined with gold-plated connections, makes this extension lead suitable for repeated use, frequent connection cycles, and the demanding conditions of RC flying and driving. It's engineered to outlast cheaper alternatives and provide reliable service for many years.
