Overview
The DYN 1/2 Machined Aluminum Servo Arm in black is a precision-engineered component designed for RC enthusiasts who demand the absolute best in control and responsiveness from their RC cars, crawlers, and buggies. Whether you're a serious competitor or a weekend basher, this JR 23T spline servo horn offers the rigidity and accuracy that separates champions from the rest. Machined from high-quality aluminium rather than injection-moulded plastic, this servo arm eliminates the flex and slop that plague standard nylon alternatives, giving you instantaneous steering response and precise throttle control when it matters most.
If you've ever felt your RC car's steering wander or noticed a delay between moving your radio transmitter stick and seeing your model respond, you've experienced the frustration of a flexing plastic servo arm. This machined aluminium servo horn from Dynamite solves that problem completely. Available in a professional black finish that complements any RC vehicle colour scheme, this is the upgrade that serious UK RC car enthusiasts choose when they want maximum steering control and predictable handling characteristics. Perfect for 1/10 scale and mid-sized RC vehicles, this servo arm works seamlessly with JR brand servos and compatible aftermarket units, making it an essential upgrade whether you're running a buggy, short course truck, or touring car on the track or bashing in the garden.
RC servo horns are often overlooked by newer hobbyists, but experienced drivers and engineers understand that the servo arm is the direct mechanical link between your radio receiver and your RC model's steering and throttle systems. A quality servo arm isn't just an accessory—it's a fundamental component of vehicle responsiveness. When you step up to a machined aluminium servo horn like this Dynamite unit, you're investing in better handling, faster lap times, and a more satisfying driving experience that will keep you coming back to the track or trail again and again.
Key Features
- Machined Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from precision-machined aluminium rather than plastic or nylon, this servo arm delivers zero flex under load, ensuring that every steering input translates immediately to your RC model without the delay or wander that you get with inferior materials.
- JR 23T Spline Compatibility — The 23T spline is the industry standard for JR brand servos, Ko Propo, Sanwa, and many other mid-range and competition-grade servo brands, making this horn compatible with a wide range of quality servos used in RC racing and serious hobbyist builds.
- Single-Arm Design — The single-arm configuration provides a clean, efficient linkage setup with minimal moving parts, reducing potential failure points and making it ideal for steering applications where maximum directness and feel are essential.
- Professional Black Finish — Available in a sleek black anodised finish that resists corrosion and oxidation, protecting your investment whilst looking professional on any RC vehicle from touring cars to off-road buggies.
- Drilled and Tapped for 3mm Linkage Hardware — The servo arm features precisely drilled and tapped holes designed to accommodate standard 3mm linkage hardware, enabling you to connect your servo to your model's steering system using proven, reliable mechanical linkages with zero slop.
- Maximum Steering Control — By eliminating the flex inherent in plastic servo arms, this machined aluminium component provides superior steering precision and response, crucial for maintaining control at high speeds on the track or navigating technical terrain in off-road racing.
- Instantaneous Throttle Response — When used as a throttle arm, the rigid construction ensures that your engine or brushless motor responds instantly to your input, with no delay or hesitation that could cost you a race.
Technical Performance
This Dynamite servo horn represents the intersection of engineering excellence and practical RC performance. Machined from solid aluminium bar stock rather than injection-moulded plastic, it achieves levels of rigidity that plastic servo arms simply cannot match. The machining process ensures precise tolerances, meaning every arm is dimensionally consistent and fits perfectly onto your servo's spline without wobble or play. The 23T spline standard is one of the most popular servo spline sizes in the hobby, used by quality servo manufacturers including JR, Ko Propo, Sanwa, and Airtronics, making this horn compatible with thousands of servos available in the UK RC market. The single-arm design is ideal for steering applications where you need direct, unambiguous control feedback. The black anodised finish provides excellent corrosion resistance, important when your RC car encounters water, salt spray, or humid conditions during UK bashing sessions. The precisely drilled and tapped mounting holes accept M3 fasteners, the industry standard for servo linkages in RC racing, ensuring compatibility with virtually all aftermarket servo savers and linkage hardware on the market. Whether you're upgrading an older servo-driven RC car or building a competition vehicle from scratch, this servo arm delivers the rigid, responsive performance that serious drivers demand. The machined construction makes it significantly stronger than plastic alternatives whilst remaining lightweight, so you're not adding unnecessary mass to your steering or throttle servo, which could reduce response speed or increase servo lag.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What servo spline does this DYN 1/2 Machined Aluminum Servo Arm fit? — This servo horn features a JR 23T spline, which is compatible with all JR brand servos as well as Ko Propo, Sanwa, and Airtronics servos that use the same 23-tooth spline standard. Before purchasing, verify that your servo has a 23T spline; other common standards include 25T for Futaba and Savox servos, and 24T for Hitec brand servos.
- Why should I upgrade from a plastic servo arm to this machined aluminium horn? — Plastic and nylon servo arms flex under load, creating a delay between your steering input and your model's response, and causing wander or inconsistency in handling. Machined aluminium servo arms like this Dynamite unit eliminate that flex entirely, providing instantaneous response, better steering feel, and more predictable handling—especially noticeable at high speeds or during precision driving. This is why competitive RC racers and serious enthusiasts always choose machined servo arms.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, though beginners with standard servos should verify their servo's spline compatibility before purchasing. If you're upgrading an existing RC car, this servo horn is a straightforward swap—simply unbolt your old plastic arm and install this one using the same M3 fasteners. It's one of the easiest and most effective upgrades you can make to improve your RC car's performance.
- What is the difference between a single-arm and double-arm servo horn? — Single-arm designs like this one are ideal for steering applications; they're lighter, more direct, and provide better feedback to the driver. Double-arm horns provide mechanical advantage and are typically used for applications where you need higher throw or greater force multiplication, such as throttle and brake systems on trucks and buggies.
- Can I use this servo arm on my RC buggy, truck, or touring car? — Yes, this servo horn works with any RC vehicle that uses a 23T spline servo—including buggies, trucks, touring cars, short course trucks, and crawlers. It's equally effective for steering or throttle control applications, though the single-arm design is optimally configured for steering.
- What hardware do I need to mount this servo arm? — The servo arm is pre-drilled and pre-tapped to accept standard M3 fasteners and linkage hardware. You'll need M3 bolts, washers, and locknuts to attach your linkage rod or servo saver, which are inexpensive and widely available from any UK RC retailer.
