Overview
The LOGIC Charge Lead 4mm~Spek/JR Tx is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts who operate JR/Spektrum transmitters and need a reliable way to keep their equipment charged and ready for action. Whether you're a dedicated RC car UK hobbyist, an RC aircraft pilot, or someone who enjoys ready to run RC models, this purpose-made charge lead provides the critical connection between your standard 4mm charger output and your JR/Spektrum transmitter charge port. Designed with simplicity and compatibility in mind, this lead eliminates the need for complicated adapters or workarounds, ensuring your transmitter charges safely and efficiently every time.
This charge lead is specifically engineered to work with JR/Spektrum original transmitters, particularly the popular DX6i and original DX7 models, which remain firm favourites among RC pilots and drivers across the UK. The lead features 4mm banana-style connectors on one end that connect directly to any standard charger with 4mm outputs, and the JR/Spektrum proprietary connector on the other end that interfaces seamlessly with your transmitter's charge port. Unlike generic solutions that might work intermittently or damage your equipment, this purpose-built charge lead from LOGIC guarantees compatibility and reliability, making it an indispensable part of your RC charging infrastructure.
As a dedicated UK RC retailer, RC Model Shop stocks the full range of LOGIC charger accessories because we understand that proper charging equipment is just as important as the vehicles and transmitters themselves. When you invest in quality RC equipment—whether that's a brushless RC car, an electric aircraft, or any other model—you need charging solutions you can trust. This charge lead is manufactured to the same high standards as the rest of the LOGIC range, ensuring that your valuable transmitter receives the correct charging current without risk of damage or safety issues.
Key Features
- 4mm Banana Socket Connection — The lead terminates in standard 4mm banana-style connectors that fit perfectly into the 4mm outputs found on the vast majority of RC battery chargers across the UK, eliminating compatibility problems and allowing you to use this lead with virtually any mainstream charger in your workshop.
- JR/Spektrum Transmitter Connector — The opposite end features the authentic JR/Spektrum charge port connector, guaranteeing perfect fit and electrical contact with DX6i and original DX7 transmitters without any adapter rings, pinched connections, or awkward workarounds.
- Purpose-Built Design — Rather than relying on generic adapters that might introduce resistance, loose connections, or safety risks, this charge lead is specifically designed for the JR/Spektrum transmitter charging application, ensuring optimal charging performance and protection of your equipment.
- Compact and Portable — The lead is compact enough to store easily in your transmitter bag, equipment case, or workshop alongside your other charging accessories, so it's always available when you need to charge before heading out to the field or track.
- Brand Assurance — Manufactured by LOGIC, a recognised brand trusted by RC enthusiasts throughout the UK and beyond, this charge lead carries the confidence and reliability that comes from a company dedicated solely to RC charging solutions and accessories.
Technical Performance
The LOGIC Charge Lead 4mm~Spek/JR Tx combines practical engineering with user-friendly design to deliver reliable charging connectivity for JR/Spektrum transmitters. The 4mm banana connectors are a standard specification in the RC hobby world, providing secure contact and excellent current transfer characteristics. The JR/Spektrum connector on the transmitter end is moulded to exact specifications, ensuring that there is no forcing, no wiggling, and no intermittent contact problems that could interrupt charging or damage the transmitter's charge port. The lead itself is constructed with quality wire suitable for the typical charging currents used in transmitter charging circuits, which are considerably lower than main battery charging currents, making this an efficient and safe solution. The combination of connector types—4mm socket to JR/Spektrum plug—represents the most common charging configuration for these transmitters across the RC car UK and RC aircraft communities, meaning you're investing in a lead that will remain useful throughout your RC hobby journey.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Spektrum and JR transmitters does this charge lead work with? — This charge lead is designed specifically for JR/Spektrum original DX6i and original DX7 transmitters. These models remain popular choices among RC pilots and drivers across the UK. If you own a different Spektrum transmitter model, you should verify compatibility with the manufacturer's specifications or contact our team before ordering.
- Can I use this lead with any standard 4mm charger? — Yes, this lead is designed to work with any RC battery charger that features standard 4mm socket outputs. This includes the vast majority of mains chargers, 12V DC chargers, and USB-input chargers available through RC retailers in the UK, making it a genuinely versatile charging solution.
- Is this charge lead suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This is one of the most straightforward RC charging accessories you can use. Simply plug the 4mm end into your charger's output sockets, connect the transmitter end to your JR/Spektrum transmitter, and begin charging. There are no complex settings, no polarity concerns (the connectors are keyed to prevent reverse connection), and no special knowledge required. Beginners will find this lead intuitive and safe to use.
- What charging current should I use with this lead? — Transmitter charging currents are typically much lower than main battery charging currents. Consult your transmitter's user manual for the recommended charging current and capacity specifications. Most transmitters are designed to charge safely at currents between 0.5A and 1A, though your specific model may vary. Never exceed the manufacturer's recommended charging current.
- How do I know if this charge lead is connected correctly? — The connectors are keyed and designed to fit in one orientation only, meaning you cannot accidentally reverse the polarity or insert the lead incorrectly. Once connected, both ends should fit snugly without requiring excessive force. If either connector feels loose or too tight, do not force it—check that you're using the correct connectors for your equipment.
- Will this lead work with brushless RC cars and ready to run RC models? — This lead is designed specifically for transmitter charging, not for charging the main drive batteries of RC cars or other ready to run RC vehicles. Your vehicle's main battery will require its own dedicated charge lead matched to its connector type. However, this transmitter charge lead is essential for keeping your transmitter powered up and ready for operation across all your RC cars, aircraft, and other Spektrum/JR-equipped models.
- Is this lead compatible with Futaba transmitters? — No, this lead is designed exclusively for JR/Spektrum transmitters. Futaba transmitters use a different charge connector and require a separate charge lead such as the LOGIC Charge Lead 4mm~Futaba Tx. Attempting to use an incompatible lead could damage your equipment.
