Technical Performance
The LOGIC Charge Lead: 4mm~Futaba Tx represents solid engineering for a dedicated charging accessory. The lead measures 1000mm in total length, providing comfortable working distance between your charger unit and transmitter without creating excessive cable clutter on your workbench. The 4mm connector end accommodates the outputs found on virtually all modern battery chargers sold in the UK, from compact portable units to large multi-channel workshop systems. The Futaba-compatible barrel socket features precise dimensional specifications—an outer diameter of 5.5mm, inner diameter of 2.5mm, and a barrel length of 10.5mm—which ensures proper fit and prevents accidental mating with incompatible Futaba receiver leads. The internal polarity is correct for Futaba transmitter charging, with the inside of the socket marked as positive, ensuring safe charging without risk of damaging your radio's onboard circuitry. Built using robust materials suitable for workshop environments, this lead resists degradation from repeated use, temperature fluctuations, and the occasional tug or stretch during operation. The connector design provides a secure connection that resists movement once plugged in, eliminating the anxiety of accidental disconnection mid-charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will this charge lead work with my Futaba transmitter? — Yes, this lead is specifically designed for Futaba transmitters that accept external charging leads. The connector dimensions and polarity are factory-correct for Futaba radio systems. If your transmitter has an external charging socket on the back, this lead will work perfectly.
- What chargers can I use with this lead? — Any charger with a standard 4mm output socket will work with this lead. This includes mains-input chargers, 12V DC chargers, and dual-input chargers from brands such as Spektrum, Logic RC, Dynamite, and countless others commonly available at UK RC retailers.
- Why do I need a dedicated charge lead instead of using alligator clips? — A dedicated charge lead like this one provides proper polarity protection, eliminating any risk of reverse-polarity charging which can damage transmitter electronics. The barrel connector also holds securely in place, preventing disconnection during the charging cycle, and distributes current more safely across proper connectors rather than clips that can slip or cause poor contact.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This lead is one of the simplest and most important charging accessories a beginner can own. If you're new to RC and flying or driving a Futaba-equipped model, having the correct charge lead means you'll never struggle with incompatible connectors or makeshift adapters. Simply plug it in and charge with confidence.
- What is the cable length, and is it long enough for workshop use? — The total cable length is 1000mm (1 metre), which provides ample reach from a typical workbench charger to a transmitter positioned elsewhere on your bench or nearby shelf. This length prevents strain on connectors while remaining short enough to avoid excessive coiling.
- Can I use this with rechargeable transmitter batteries? — Yes. This lead is designed to charge Futaba transmitter batteries via the external charging socket. It works with both standard alkaline backup packs and integrated rechargeable battery systems fitted to modern Futaba transmitters.
- How do I know the polarity is correct? — The specification states that the inside of the charge socket is positive, which is the Futaba standard. This means when you insert the connector into your transmitter's charging port, the positive and negative contacts will align correctly, ensuring safe, damage-free charging.
