Overview

The EFL 10-15 Nose Gear Steering Arm (F-EFLG113) is an essential replacement and upgrade component for RC scale aircraft builders and enthusiasts in the UK who demand reliable, precision landing gear performance. Designed specifically for E-flite's 10-15 size nose electric retract systems, this steering arm enables smooth, accurate nose wheel directional control during taxiing, takeoff and landing operations. Whether you're restoring a damaged nose gear assembly, upgrading an existing aircraft, or completing a new RC plane build project, this component delivers the engineering quality you need for consistent, predictable ground handling.

This steering arm is part of E-flite's comprehensive nose gear ecosystem, which includes matched nose retract units, wire struts, and adjustment components. For RC modellers building scale models, ARTF aircraft, or custom balsa and foam projects, having the correct nose gear steering components is fundamental to achieving authentic ground handling and safe flight operations. The F-EFLG113 works in harmony with other 10-15 size nose gear spares such as the EFLG111 nose electric retract unit and EFLG112 nose gear wire strut to create a complete, functional steerable nose assembly.

RC Model Shop stocks this E-flite nose gear steering arm as part of our extensive retracts and landing gear range, which covers everything from park flyers to larger sport and scale models. Our friendly, knowledgeable team of experienced RC modellers can advise on compatibility and help you select the right nose gear components for your specific airframe and operating requirements.

Key Features

  • Precision Engineering for Nose Gear Systems — This steering arm is engineered to provide accurate directional control of nose wheels during ground operations, ensuring your RC aircraft tracks straight during taxi and landing phases without unwanted veering or misalignment.
  • 10-15 Size Class Compatibility — Purpose-designed for E-flite's 10-15 nose electric retract units, this arm ensures perfect mechanical fit and seamless integration with matched nose gear assemblies, eliminating fitment guesswork and compatibility concerns.
  • Replacement and Upgrade Capability — Whether you need to replace a damaged steering arm from an existing nose gear setup or upgrade an aircraft with improved ground handling, this component allows you to rebuild or enhance your nose gear performance without replacing entire retract systems.
  • E-flite Quality and Reliability — Manufactured by E-flite, a recognised leader in RC aircraft components, this steering arm reflects the precision standards and durability that serious RC scale modellers expect from landing gear spares and nose gear components.
  • Part of a Complete Nose Gear Ecosystem — This steering arm works seamlessly with other E-flite 10-15 nose gear components, including nose retract units and wire struts, allowing you to build complete, fully functional steerable nose assemblies tailored to your aircraft design.

Technical Performance

The EFL 10-15 Nose Gear Steering Arm is engineered to the exacting standards required for reliable RC aircraft landing gear performance. As a precision mechanical component within E-flite's 10-15 size class nose gear system, this steering arm provides the structural integrity and dimensional accuracy necessary for smooth, responsive nose wheel steering during ground operations. The arm connects the nose retract unit's steering mechanism to the nose wheel assembly, translating control inputs from your aircraft's nose gear actuator into precise directional changes. This component is manufactured from materials and to tolerances that ensure consistent performance across repeated takeoff, landing and taxi cycles. For RC aircraft builders operating electric retract systems at typical receiver/battery configurations (4.8V to 7.4V), this steering arm is designed to function reliably within the mechanical load ranges generated by standard nose wheel assemblies. The precision fit with E-flite's EFLG111 nose electric retract unit ensures that steering inputs are transmitted efficiently without lost motion or binding, critical for maintaining straight-line taxi control and safe ground handling on RC scale models of all types.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What aircraft is this nose gear steering arm suitable for? — The F-EFLG113 is designed for E-flite 10-15 size class RC aircraft, which typically includes models ranging from mid-sized ARTF and ARF aeroplanes through to larger scale builds. If your aircraft is fitted with or designed for E-flite 10-15 nose electric retract units, this steering arm will be compatible. For specific airframe compatibility advice, consult your aircraft plans or contact our knowledgeable team.
  • Do I need this steering arm if I already have a complete nose retract? — If your existing nose gear steering arm is damaged, bent, cracked or missing, this replacement component will restore full steering functionality to your nose gear assembly. Even if your nose retract unit itself is functioning, a damaged steering arm can cause poor ground handling, difficulty steering during taxi, or unsafe landing characteristics. This is a common wear item on older aircraft or those that have experienced nose gear impacts.
  • How does the steering arm connect to the nose wheel? — The steering arm mechanically links the nose retract unit's steering output to your nose wheel assembly, typically through a ball link, clevis pin or similar connection point. The exact mechanical arrangement depends on your aircraft's design and nose gear configuration. Our team can advise on linkage setup and adjustment during installation.
  • What is the difference between the 10-15 and 15-25 nose steering arms? — E-flite manufactures separate steering arm designs for different nose gear size classes. The 10-15 steering arm (F-EFLG113) is sized and engineered for smaller nose retract units within the 10-15 class, whilst the larger 15-25 steering arm (EFLG213) is designed for heavier, more robust nose gear assemblies. Using the correctly sized arm ensures proper mechanical advantage, smooth steering action and safe operation.
  • Is this suitable for complete beginners? — This is a replacement spares component rather than a complete retract system, so installation requires basic mechanical skills and familiarity with landing gear assembly and linkage setup. If you're new to RC aircraft building or nose gear installation, we recommend consulting your aircraft manual, watching installation videos, or contacting our experienced team for detailed guidance before beginning work.
  • What other nose gear components do you stock? — RC Model Shop stocks the complete E-flite 10-15 nose gear range, including the EFLG111 nose electric retract unit, EFLG112 nose gear wire strut, and other 10-15 size class landing gear spares. We also carry larger 15-25, 25-46 and 60-120 size nose gear components for bigger scale models, plus main landing gear retracts, struts, axles and adjustment components across the full range.
