Overview
The Radient Futaba Twisted HD Extension Lead with Clip 600mm (RDNAC010235) is an essential accessory for RC car UK enthusiasts who demand reliable, high-quality connections between their servo and receiver systems. Whether you're running a ready to run RC car, a competitive race machine, or a weekend basher, this heavy-duty extension lead ensures your radio control setup maintains consistent signal integrity and power delivery throughout your driving sessions. The 600mm length provides the perfect balance between flexibility and control, allowing you to position your servo connections exactly where you need them without excessive cable length cluttering your RC car's chassis.
Built to professional standards by Radient, a trusted manufacturer of RC components, this extension lead features Futaba-style connectors that are recognised and compatible with a vast range of RC vehicles and radio systems. The thoughtful inclusion of a connector clip means your lead stays securely fastened during operation, eliminating the frustration of loose connections that can cause servo lag, signal dropout, or unexpected control loss during critical moments in a race or off-road run. For anyone serious about their RC setup—whether that's a brushless RC buggy, a rock crawler, or a stadium truck—a quality extension lead is a cornerstone component that should never be compromised.
This is not a product that grabs headlines with flashy colours or cutting-edge technology, but rather a hardworking, dependable workhorse that quietly ensures your RC hobby remains enjoyable and trouble-free. The twisted HD cable construction reduces noise interference and provides durability that will withstand hundreds of hours of use, making it an investment in reliability that pays dividends over time.
Key Features
- 600mm Length — The 600mm overall length (including connectors) strikes an ideal balance for most RC applications, providing sufficient cable routing flexibility without creating excessive slack that could cause snagging or connector strain during dynamic driving conditions.
- Male to Female Futaba Connectors — These heavy-duty Futaba-style connectors with black, white and red wiring are the industry standard for RC radio systems, ensuring compatibility with the vast majority of servo receivers and radio equipment used across the UK RC hobby.
- 60-Strand 22AWG Wire — The 60-strand construction combined with 22AWG gauge wire provides excellent current-carrying capacity whilst maintaining flexibility for routing through tight spaces in your RC chassis, whether you're working with a compact race car or a larger RC truck.
- Twisted HD Cable Design — The twisted heavy-duty cable layout minimises electromagnetic interference and signal noise, resulting in cleaner servo response and more precise control inputs—especially important when you're pushing your RC car to its limits in competitive driving or technical terrain.
- Included Connector Clip — The supplied connector clip securely fastens the lead in place during operation, preventing accidental disconnection that could cause loss of control and potential damage to your RC vehicle or injury to bystanders.
- Professional-Grade Build Quality — Every aspect of this extension lead has been engineered for reliability, with quality connectors and robust cable construction designed to withstand the vibration, heat and stress of serious RC use.
Technical Performance
The Radient Futaba Twisted HD Extension Lead is engineered using professional-grade materials and construction techniques that ensure reliable performance across all conditions. The 60-strand wire configuration provides superior flexibility compared to thinner single-strand alternatives, allowing for easier routing through complex RC chassis layouts whilst maintaining excellent electrical conductivity. At 22AWG gauge, the wire diameter is optimised for servo and receiver circuits, delivering sufficient current capacity for standard RC servo motors without introducing unnecessary weight or bulk. The 1.5mm outer diameter cable keeps the overall package compact, minimising additional weight that could affect your RC car's handling characteristics. The twisted HD cable construction is particularly important for noise reduction—by intertwining the power and signal conductors, this design minimises the electromagnetic interference that can cause servo jitter or erratic control behaviour, particularly noticeable when running high-frequency radio systems or when multiple servos are operating simultaneously in brushless RC applications. Whether you're operating in an indoor RC racing facility, on dusty outdoor terrain, or in an electromagnetically noisy environment, this lead maintains signal integrity and connection reliability. The heavy-duty Futaba connectors are rated for repeated connection and disconnection cycles, meaning you can swap leads between vehicles or reconfigure your setup without worrying about connector degradation. With proper care, this extension lead will provide years of dependable service across multiple RC vehicles and applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient Futaba Twisted HD Extension Lead suitable for all RC vehicles? — Yes, provided your RC vehicle uses a standard Futaba-style radio system or receiver with Futaba connectors. This includes the vast majority of brushless RC buggies, RC monster trucks, RC crawlers, and other RC cars available in the UK market. If you're unsure whether your specific RC setup is compatible, check your receiver or radio system documentation for the connector type—Futaba connectors are industry standard across Futaba, Spektrum, and many other respected RC manufacturers.
- What is the difference between a 600mm and 900mm extension lead? — The primary difference is length. The 600mm version suits most standard RC chassis layouts and provides good flexibility without excessive cable that could snag or create strain points. The 900mm version offers more routing flexibility for larger RC vehicles or more complex internal layouts. Choose 600mm for compact setups and 900mm if you need to run the lead across a longer distance or have a more elaborate servo installation.
- Why does this lead have a connector clip included? — The connector clip serves a critical function in preventing accidental disconnection during driving. When you're operating your RC car at speed or over rough terrain, vibration can naturally work loose an unsecured connector. The clip holds the male and female connector together securely, eliminating this risk and ensuring uninterrupted signal to your servo throughout your driving session.
- Is the twisted cable design really important? — Yes, the twisted HD cable design significantly reduces electromagnetic interference compared to non-twisted cables. This is especially noticeable if you're running high-frequency radio systems, have multiple servos operating simultaneously, or are driving in electromagnetically noisy environments. You'll experience smoother, more responsive servo control with fewer instances of jitter or lag.
- What does 22AWG wire gauge mean for my RC car? — 22AWG (American Wire Gauge) refers to the thickness of the copper conductor inside the cable. This particular gauge is optimised for servo and receiver circuits, providing excellent current carrying capacity for standard servo motors without introducing unnecessary weight. The 60-strand construction means the conductor is made of 60 individual strands twisted together, maximising flexibility whilst maintaining electrical performance.
- Can I use this with a brushless RC car? — Absolutely. This extension lead works with any RC system that uses Futaba-style connectors, regardless of whether your vehicle uses brushless or brushed motors. The lead connects servo to receiver, which is independent of your motor system, so brushless RC buggies, brushless RC trucks, and brushed vehicles can all use this lead.
- How durable is this lead for long-term use? — The Radient Futaba Twisted HD Extension Lead is designed and manufactured to professional standards with quality connectors and robust cable construction. With proper care—avoiding sharp bends, excessive heat, and protecting from moisture—this lead will provide years of reliable service across multiple RC vehicles and hundreds of hours of driving time.
