Overview

The FTX Body Post Aluminium for Carnage is a premium upgrade component designed for enthusiasts looking to enhance their FTX RC truck. This high-quality options part from FTX represents a direct upgrade path for owners of FTX Carnage, Vantage, and Zorro models who want to improve their vehicle's performance and durability. Whether you're a dedicated RC car UK hobbyist, a weekend basher, or someone who enjoys pushing their ready to run RC truck to its limits, these aluminium body posts deliver the rigidity and reliability needed for serious RC driving.

As a chassis tune-up component, the FTX Body Post Aluminium works in conjunction with optional carbon shock towers (FTX6351 and FTX6352) to create a reinforced mounting system that significantly improves your vehicle's structural integrity. This upgrade is particularly valuable if you're frequently launching your truck, hitting jumps, or driving on challenging terrain where body movement and flex can compromise handling and durability. The aluminium construction provides superior strength compared to standard plastic posts whilst maintaining a lightweight profile that doesn't compromise your RC truck's performance characteristics.

FTX is recognised globally for producing innovative RC vehicles and upgrade components that offer exceptional value for money. By choosing these body posts, you're investing in components that have been engineered specifically for the Carnage, Vantage, and Zorro platforms, ensuring perfect compatibility and fit. This is the kind of upgrade that serious RC enthusiasts in the UK gravitate towards when they want to protect their investment and unlock their truck's true potential.

Key Features

  • Premium Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from high-grade aluminium alloy, these body posts deliver superior rigidity and strength compared to standard plastic alternatives, meaning your vehicle's body will remain more stable during high-impact driving and aggressive manoeuvres.
  • Designed for Carbon Shock Towers — These posts are specifically engineered to work seamlessly with optional carbon shock towers FTX6351 and FTX6352, creating a fully reinforced suspension mounting system that dramatically improves vehicle stiffness and handling precision.
  • Direct Fit Compatibility — Engineered as a direct replacement for the standard posts on FTX Carnage, Vantage, and Zorro models, installation is straightforward with no modifications required, making this an ideal upgrade for anyone wanting immediate improvement.
  • Enhanced Durability Under Load — The aluminium construction resists bending and deformation better than plastic, particularly important when you're landing jumps, hitting obstacles, or driving at high speed where body flex can cause handling issues and reduce component lifespan.
  • Lightweight Performance Design — Unlike heavier steel alternatives, the aluminium material keeps your RC truck's weight distribution optimised, ensuring you don't sacrifice acceleration, top speed, or battery runtime whilst gaining structural benefits.
  • Professional-Grade Upgrade Path — Part of FTX's comprehensive hop-up and options range, these posts represent the kind of incremental improvements that allow you to progressively enhance your vehicle's performance and durability as your skills develop.

Technical Performance

The FTX Body Post Aluminium upgrade represents a significant step up in chassis rigidity for owners of FTX Carnage, Vantage, and Zorro RC trucks. Constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, these posts provide dramatically superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to the plastic factory originals. When paired with the optional carbon shock towers (FTX6351 and FTX6352), they create a fully reinforced mounting system that substantially reduces chassis flex during aggressive driving. This engineering approach is particularly effective for RC enthusiasts who regularly perform jumps, drive at high speeds, or navigate rough terrain where body movement can affect handling precision and component longevity. The aluminium material resists bending under impact forces, meaning your vehicle maintains consistent handling characteristics even after repeated hard landings and collisions. This upgrade is especially valuable for owners of the FTX Carnage 2.0 brushed and brushless variants, the FTX Vantage 2.0 buggy, and the FTX Zorro nitro trophy truck, as these are high-performance platforms that genuinely benefit from the improved structural support that aluminium body posts provide. The installation process is straightforward, requiring no vehicle modifications, and the parts integrate perfectly with your existing suspension components. For UK RC car enthusiasts looking to move beyond basic ready to run setups and invest in performance-oriented upgrades, this is exactly the type of component that separates enthusiast-level builds from casual hobby vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which FTX models are these body posts compatible with? — The FTX Body Post Aluminium (FTX6355) is designed for FTX Carnage, Vantage, and Zorro models. Specifically, these are confirmed compatible with: FTX Bugsta 4WD Brushed 1/10th Off-Road Buggy RTR, FTX Carnage 2.0 1/10 Brushed Truck in both Blue and Red variants, FTX Carnage 2.0 Brushless RTR Monster Truck, FTX Carnage NT 1/10th RTR 4WD Nitro Truck, and FTX Zorro Nitro Trophy Truck RTR in both Orange and Blue colours.
  • Do I need to buy the carbon shock towers separately? — Yes, these body posts are designed to work with optional carbon shock towers FTX6351 (front) and FTX6352 (rear), which are sold separately. The posts will still fit on your vehicle without them, but for maximum performance benefits and the structural improvements that justify upgrading from plastic, pairing them with carbon towers is highly recommended.
  • Are aluminium body posts stronger than plastic ones? — Significantly yes. Aluminium body posts are considerably more rigid and resistant to bending compared to plastic factory posts. This means your vehicle's body will stay flatter during jumps and high-speed driving, which improves handling consistency and reduces flex-related handling issues. They're particularly valuable if you frequently land hard or drive aggressively.
  • Will these body posts affect my RC truck's weight distribution? — Aluminium is lighter than steel alternatives whilst being much stronger than plastic, so these posts improve your vehicle's stiffness without adding significant weight that would affect performance. This makes them an intelligent upgrade choice for anyone wanting structural benefits without sacrificing acceleration or speed.
  • How do these compare to the standard plastic body posts? — The key difference is rigidity and durability under impact. Plastic posts can flex and absorb energy, which means your vehicle's body movement increases during driving, affecting handling precision. Aluminium posts resist this flex, keeping your body flatter and your handling more predictable, particularly during jumps and high-speed corners.
  • Are these suitable for beginners? — These are categorised as hop-up options parts, which means they're aimed at owners who already have a vehicle and want to improve specific aspects of performance. If you're just starting with RC in the UK, you'd typically begin with a complete ready to run model like the FTX Carnage 2.0 or FTX Vantage 2.0, then add upgrades like these once you've developed your skills and want to enhance your vehicle further.
  • Will upgrading to these body posts make a noticeable difference? — Yes, particularly if you drive aggressively or frequently perform jumps. The reduction in body flex creates noticeably tighter, more responsive handling, and the improved durability means your vehicle will better withstand the impacts and stresses of intense RC driving. Many UK RC enthusiasts report that pairing these with carbon shock towers creates a dramatically stiffer, more predictable platform.
