Overview

The Fusion EC5 Connector Set 2prs (O-FS-EC5/02) is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts who use the EC5 connector format on their models and equipment. Whether you're assembling new power leads, replacing worn connectors, or standardising your wiring across multiple RC vehicles, this straightforward two-pair connector set provides reliable, matched EC5 terminations that keep your hobby setup consistent and professional. EC5 is a widely adopted connector style in the RC hobby, recognised for offering a robust, keyed connection that ensures secure power delivery across your RC car UK fleet, RC aircraft, boats, and other powered models.

This Fusion connector set is ideal for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels who want to maintain high-quality wiring standards without the expense of purchasing larger bulk packs. The EC5 interface has become increasingly popular in modern RC equipment, particularly in brushless RC systems where reliable power transmission is critical. By keeping a set of EC5 connectors on hand, you can quickly refresh tired leads on your ready to run RC vehicles, create custom-length power harnesses, or upgrade existing setups that don't yet feature EC5 standardisation. The compact, two-pair format makes this set perfect for hobbyists who work on multiple models but don't need industrial quantities of connectors.

RC Model Shop stocks the full range of connector types and quantities to suit every budget and application, from small hobby packs through to bulk trade options. Whether you're building your first brushless RC buggy or maintaining a collection of competition-grade models, having the correct connectors on hand ensures your equipment stays in peak condition. EC5 connectors are valued by RC enthusiasts across the UK for their durability, ease of use, and positive connection security, making them a trusted standard for serious hobbyists and weekend bashers alike.

Key Features

  • Two pairs of EC5 connectors — This set contains two complete male and female connector pairs, giving you enough terminations to create or refresh two power leads or modify two separate circuits within your RC setup.
  • EC5 connector format — The EC5 interface is a keyed connector design that prevents reverse-polarity connection errors and ensures consistent, secure mating between power leads and equipment, reducing the risk of accidental disconnection during use.
  • Compact, convenient pack size — Unlike bulk packs that contain 10 or 50 pairs, this two-pair set is ideal for hobbyists who need fresh connectors without committing to larger quantities, making it perfect for occasional upgrades and repairs.
  • Widely compatible — EC5 connectors are used on many modern RC batteries, electronic speed controllers (ESCs), and chargers, so this set works across a broad range of equipment from different manufacturers, simplifying your connector standardisation efforts.
  • Professional-grade reliability — Fusion connector sets are engineered for robust performance in RC applications, delivering the secure connections you need for reliable power delivery whether you're running brushless RC cars, electric aircraft, or powered boats.

Technical Performance

The Fusion EC5 Connector Set represents a straightforward but essential component in any RC hobbyist's toolkit. EC5 connectors are engineered with a keyed, polarised design that prevents mis-mating and accidental reverse polarity, which is critical when working with high-discharge batteries and brushless ESCs where electrical mistakes can damage equipment. The connector format has become an industry standard across premium RC equipment, appearing on modern LiPo batteries in various capacities (2S, 3S, 4S, 5S and higher configurations), on quality brushless and brushed ESCs, and on dedicated RC chargers. The robust construction ensures repeated connect-disconnect cycles without degradation, and the secure mechanical fit prevents loose connections that could interrupt power delivery during use. Whether you're upgrading a ready to run RC buggy, assembling a race kit vehicle, or maintaining a collection of RC cars UK-wide, having matched EC5 pairs ensures consistent performance across all your equipment. The two-pair format provides enough connectors for most hobby maintenance and upgrade tasks without the waste of larger bulk purchases.

What's in the Box

  • Two pairs of EC5 connectors (four individual connectors total — two male, two female)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an EC5 connector and why should I use it for my RC hobby? — EC5 connectors are keyed, polarised connectors that have become an industry standard in modern RC equipment. They prevent accidental reverse-polarity connection, which is critical for protecting your brushless ESCs and batteries. The EC5 format is used on quality RC batteries, brushless speed controllers, and chargers because the secure mechanical fit prevents accidental disconnection and the keyed design eliminates the possibility of plugging things in backwards, which could cause electrical damage.
  • Can I use these EC5 connectors to upgrade my existing RC car UK equipment? — Yes, EC5 connectors are widely compatible across modern RC equipment. If your batteries, ESC, or charger features EC5 connectors, you can use this set to create custom-length power leads or replace worn connectors. However, check your existing equipment first to ensure it uses the EC5 format rather than older alternatives like Tamiya, Deans, or XT60 connectors.
  • How many connector pairs do I need? — This two-pair pack contains enough connectors to create two complete power leads or refresh two separate circuits. If you're working on a single brushless RC vehicle, one pair is typically sufficient for the main power lead from battery to ESC. However, if you're maintaining multiple models or creating multiple harnesses, the larger 10-pair pack (O-FS-EC5/10) may be more economical.
  • Are these connectors suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. EC5 connectors are actually ideal for beginners because the keyed design prevents mis-mating and reverse polarity errors. The straightforward two-pair format makes them less intimidating than bulk packs, and their widespread use across ready to run RC vehicles means they're a safe, standard choice for hobby use.
  • What's the difference between EC5 and other connector types like XT60 or Deans? — EC5, XT60, Deans, and Tamiya are all different connector formats used in RC applications. EC5 is slightly larger and offers a robust, keyed design ideal for medium to high-current applications. XT60 is smaller and commonly used on LiPo batteries. Deans and Tamiya are older formats still found on some equipment. The choice depends on what your specific RC equipment uses — check your battery and ESC to determine which format you need.
  • Can I solder these connectors myself or do I need soldering equipment? — These are passive connectors without integrated components, so they can be soldered to wire using standard soldering equipment. However, this product contains only the connectors; you'll need soldering iron, solder, and the appropriate wire gauge for your application. Some RC enthusiasts prefer to purchase pre-made connector leads rather than assembling them from components.
