Technical Performance
The Element RC Shock Springs - Yellow are engineered for serious trail truck enthusiasts who demand responsive handling and reliable suspension performance. The 2.47 lb/in spring rate sits in the medium range of Element RC's suspension offerings, making these springs suitable for a broad spectrum of driving conditions and skill levels. At 63mm in length, they maintain the proper suspension geometry and ride height that Element RC's chassis engineers have calibrated for optimal weight distribution and handling balance. The springs are manufactured from high-grade steel using precise coiling techniques that ensure consistent spring rates across all units, eliminating performance variance between individual springs. This consistency is crucial for trail trucks where even slight differences in spring behaviour can affect steering response, body roll characteristics, and overall handling precision. The yellow colour coating not only provides visual identification but also serves as a protective layer against corrosion and wear. When installed on compatible Element RC Enduro models—including the Ecto Trail Truck, Trailwalker, Sendero HD, Zuul IFS2, and other variants—these springs work in conjunction with the vehicle's damper system to provide balanced suspension response. Users have reported that upgrading to these springs eliminates unwanted chassis rub, improves ground clearance consistency, and delivers noticeably improved handling when running vehicles with additional weight or upgraded components. The spring rate has been proven effective across both smooth tracks and challenging rocky terrain, providing the suspension compliance needed to maintain traction whilst maintaining sufficient support to control body movement during cornering and aggressive manoeuvres.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these Element RC Shock Springs work with my trail truck? — Yes, these springs are compatible with numerous Element RC Enduro models including the Ecto Trail Truck RTR (Green, Black), Enduro Trail Truck Zuul Tan RTR, Enduro Ecto Trail Truck RTR Grey with Portal Axles, Enduro Trailwalker RTR Black, Enduro Trail Truck Sendero HD RTR Black, Enduro Sendero HD Titanium RTR, and Enduro Zuul IFS2 Trail Truck RTR Blue. Check your vehicle's model number against the compatibility list to confirm fitment.
- What does the 2.47 lb/in spring rate mean? — The spring rate indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 2.47 lb/in rate is considered medium stiffness, providing a good balance between suspension compliance (for comfort and traction over bumps) and support (for controlling body roll and maintaining ride height). This makes it suitable for general purpose trail running and bashing.
- How do shock springs affect my RC car's handling? — Spring rate directly influences your vehicle's suspension behaviour. Stiffer springs provide more support, reducing body roll and raising ride height, which suits faster driving and smoother surfaces. Softer springs provide more compliance, improving traction and ground contact on rough terrain. The 2.47 lb/in rate offers versatility across varied conditions.
- Can I use these springs on both front and rear shocks? — Element RC designs their suspension so springs can typically be used on both axles, though some advanced setups use different rates front and rear for specific handling characteristics. Consult your Element RC manual or contact Element RC support for your specific model's recommendations.
- Why is my chassis rubbing, and will these springs fix it? — Chassis rub typically occurs when suspension compression is excessive, bringing the body into contact with the terrain or components. Users have confirmed that upgrading to these 2.47 lb/in springs resolved rubbing issues on their vehicles, particularly those running additional weight or modifications. The stiffer spring rate maintains better ride height under load.
- What's the difference between the yellow springs and other colours in the Element RC range? — Element RC uses colour coding to identify different spring rates. The yellow springs are 2.47 lb/in. Element RC also offers blue springs at 2.09 lb/in (softer, for more compliance) and other rates in different colours. Choose based on your terrain and driving style—softer springs for rocky trails, stiffer for faster bashing.
- How often should I replace my shock springs? — Quality shock springs maintain their rate for thousands of hours of driving. Replace springs only when they lose their rate (evident as sagging, inconsistent ride height, or reduced handling response) or if physically damaged. Regular inspection helps identify worn springs before they significantly affect handling.
- Are these springs suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. The 2.47 lb/in rate is an excellent all-rounder for drivers of all experience levels. Beginners benefit from the balanced handling characteristics, whilst experienced drivers appreciate the tuning flexibility these springs provide for experimenting with different setups.
