The paint's compatibility with both acrylic and enamel paints means you can layer details and highlights with precision after your base coat has cured, creating stunning multi-finish effects that elevate your models above basic single-colour designs.
What sets Tamiya spray paints apart in the competitive RC hobby market is their proven track record among both amateur enthusiasts and serious competitors. The TS-97 Pearl Yellow is ideal for anyone looking to add a distinctive, eye-catching pearlescent finish to their RC collection. From ready-to-run RC cars that need a fresh custom paint job to competition-grade scale models requiring show-quality finishes, this versatile spray paint delivers professional results every time. Technical Performance
The Tamiya TS-97 Pearl Yellow represents the culmination of decades of Tamiya's expertise in model finishing products. The synthetic lacquer formulation is engineered to provide optimal adhesion to plastic model bodies whilst maintaining workability throughout the spraying process. The 100ml capacity is precisely calculated to deliver complete coverage of RC car bodies in the popular 1/24 scale range, with enough material remaining for touch-ups, test sprays, and secondary applications. The rapid curing characteristics mean that once you've applied your base coat, you can proceed with secondary painting using enamel or acrylic paints within hours rather than days, dramatically accelerating your project timeline. This paint is suitable for use on all standard plastic model materials used in RC car construction and detailed scale modelling, including the ABS plastic commonly found in injection-moulded RC bodies and the polycarbonate used in many high-end scale models. The pearlescent nature of this particular colour shade means it performs particularly well when applied over a white or light grey base coat, which will enhance the colour's reflective properties and depth. UK modellers working in various lighting conditions will find that the pearlescent finish maintains its visual impact whether viewed in natural daylight, indoor showroom lighting, or competitive event environments.
