Technical Performance
The Schumacher UDIRC Servo Saver & Connecting Rod assembly represents precision engineering designed specifically for the demands of RC car ownership. This component functions as a critical interface between your RC vehicle's steering servo and the front steering linkage, absorbing impact forces and protecting your servo from damage during aggressive driving, collisions, or high-speed manoeuvres. The servo saver mechanism incorporates a spring-loaded design that allows for controlled deflection when the steering reaches its limits, preventing the expensive servo from experiencing sudden shock loads. The connecting rod element ensures smooth, responsive steering input translation, allowing your RC car to maintain precise directional control whilst offering the protection your servo deserves. Manufactured in China to exacting Schumacher standards, this spare part is built to withstand the rigorous demands of regular RC car use, whether you're enjoying casual bashings or competitive racing. The assembly's engineering ensures compatibility across multiple UDIRC platforms, demonstrating the quality and versatility expected from a leading RC manufacturer. For UK RC enthusiasts looking to maintain their vehicles in peak condition, this genuine spare part offers outstanding value and reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a servo saver and why do I need one on my RC car? — A servo saver is a protective mechanism that sits between your RC servo and the steering linkage. It's designed to absorb impact and shock loads when your RC car collides with obstacles or experiences sudden steering inputs. This protection prevents expensive servo damage and extends the lifespan of your steering servo, making it an essential component for any RC car that's used regularly or driven aggressively.
- Which UDIRC models is the UD1601-030 compatible with? — The Schumacher UDIRC Servo Saver & Connecting Rod UD1601-030 is compatible with the UD1601 UDIRC Breaker Drift Truck, UD1608 UDIRC Bug Brushed version, UD1608PRO UDIRC Bug Pro Brushless version, and UD1603 UDIRC Rally L Style model. Always check your vehicle's model number before ordering to ensure compatibility.
- Is this a genuine OEM part or an aftermarket copy? — This is a genuine Schumacher UDIRC original equipment manufacturer spare part, manufactured to the original specifications used in UDIRC RC vehicles. Purchasing genuine OEM parts ensures perfect fitment and reliable performance compared to cheaper aftermarket alternatives that may not fit properly or perform as expected.
- When should I replace my servo saver and connecting rod? — You should consider replacing your servo saver and connecting rod assembly if you notice reduced steering responsiveness, visible damage to the components, the servo saver no longer provides protection (damaged spring mechanism), or if your steering feels notchy or unresponsive. Regular inspection during maintenance is recommended, especially if you drive your RC car frequently or aggressively.
- Can this part improve my RC car's steering performance? — If your existing servo saver or connecting rod is worn or damaged, replacing it with this genuine Schumacher component will restore smooth, responsive steering characteristics. A worn servo saver cannot provide adequate protection and may cause notchy or unpredictable steering behaviour, so replacing it often improves overall driving experience and vehicle control.
- Will this servo saver work with aftermarket servos? — The UD1601-030 is specifically designed for UDIRC vehicles and uses standard servo connections, so it should work with most standard RC servos used in these platforms. However, for best results and guaranteed compatibility, use the servo specified for your particular UDIRC model.
