Overview
The Traxxas Boots, Driveshaft (Rubber) (2 pcs) TRX5459 are essential replacement rubber boots designed to protect your RC car's driveshaft components from dirt, debris and damage during off-road running. Whether you're a serious racer, weekend basher, or RC enthusiast in the UK who runs their cars across varying terrain, driveshaft boots are a critical part of your spare parts collection. These genuine Traxxas rubber boots are engineered to fit perfectly on compatible Traxxas models and provide reliable protection to keep your drivetrain in optimal condition for longer between services.
Driveshaft boots are the unsung heroes of RC car maintenance. They create a protective seal around the driveshaft CV joints, preventing mud, water, sand and other contaminants from entering and causing premature wear or failure. Without proper boots, you'll find yourself replacing driveshaft components far more frequently, which quickly becomes expensive. These Traxxas rubber boots are manufactured to OEM specifications, ensuring they fit and function exactly as designed by the engineers at Traxxas.
If you're running an RC buggy, monster truck or other high-performance vehicle through challenging terrain across the UK, maintaining your driveshaft boots is crucial for reliability and longevity. This pack contains two replacement boots, allowing you to service both sides of your vehicle or maintain a spare set for quick trackside repairs. Genuine Traxxas parts ensure compatibility and performance, giving you peace of mind that your RC car is properly protected.
Key Features
- Genuine Traxxas Rubber Construction — These boots are manufactured using authentic Traxxas rubber material, ensuring they have the correct flexibility, durability and chemical resistance needed to survive the harsh conditions of off-road RC running. Using genuine parts means you can trust the fit and longevity compared to cheaper aftermarket alternatives.
- Pack of Two Boots — This pack contains two replacement boots, allowing you to replace both driveshaft boots on your vehicle or keep spares on hand for quick maintenance and repairs. Having multiple boots means you can service your entire driveshaft system without having to order again.
- Drivetrain Protection — The primary function of these boots is to seal out mud, dirt, water and sand from your vehicle's driveshaft CV joints and components. This protection is essential for maintaining smooth power delivery, preventing corrosion, and extending the life of your expensive drivetrain components.
- Easy Installation — Once you have removed and cleaned the old boots from the driveshaft, these new rubber boots can be fitted using a small amount of superglue at the edges where the boot meets the shaft. The straightforward installation process means you can complete the job quickly without specialist tools or equipment.
- Compatible with Traxxas Models — These boots are specifically engineered to fit Traxxas vehicles that use compatible driveshaft designs. Verify compatibility with your specific model before ordering to ensure proper fit and function.
Technical Performance
These durable rubber boots are engineered from flexible elastomer material that maintains its integrity across a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions common in UK RC running. The rubber compound provides excellent resistance to oils, greases and the various cleaning products you might use to maintain your RC car. The boots are designed with a precise fit that slides over the driveshaft and sits flush against the CV joint housing, creating an effective seal without restricting movement or causing friction. Installation involves positioning the boot over the driveshaft first, then applying a very small amount of superglue around the edge where the boot meets the shaft material. This approach prevents the sticky mess that can occur if you attempt to coat the shaft with glue first and then slide the boot over it. Care should be taken when cleaning away excess adhesive, using a damp cloth rather than disposable paper towels which can tear or stick to the boot material. Proper installation and maintenance of these boots will significantly extend the intervals between major drivetrain servicing, saving you time and money on repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are driveshaft boots and why do I need them? — Driveshaft boots are protective rubber sleeves that seal the CV joints and driveshaft components on your RC car. They prevent dirt, mud, water and sand from entering the drivetrain during running, which would otherwise cause rapid wear, corrosion and failure of expensive internal components. Maintaining good driveshaft boots is one of the most cost-effective ways to extend the life of your RC car's drivetrain.
- How do I install these Traxxas driveshaft boots? — Installation begins by carefully removing the old boots from your driveshaft and cleaning away any glue residue or dirt. Once clean, slide the new rubber boot into position over the driveshaft. Apply only a very small amount of superglue around the edge of the boot where it meets the driveshaft material. Do not apply glue to the shaft first and then try to slide the boot over it, as this will create a messy situation. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any excess glue rather than paper towels, which can tear or stick to the rubber.
- How often should I replace my driveshaft boots? — The lifespan of driveshaft boots depends on the intensity and frequency of your running. Regular inspection will show signs of splitting, cracking or deterioration. If you notice tears or gaps in the rubber, it's time to replace them. As a general rule, if you run your RC car regularly in challenging terrain, inspect your boots every few months and replace them if they show signs of damage.
- Are these genuine Traxxas parts? — Yes, these are authentic Traxxas TRX5459 driveshaft boots manufactured to OEM specifications. Using genuine parts ensures perfect compatibility with your Traxxas vehicle and guarantees the material quality and performance characteristics that Traxxas engineers designed into them.
- Will these boots fit my Traxxas RC car? — These boots are designed for Traxxas vehicles with compatible driveshaft designs. You should verify compatibility with your specific model before purchasing. Check your vehicle's manual or contact our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop to confirm these will fit your particular car.
