Overview
The Traxxas Ball Bearings, Blue Rubber Sealed (6x10x3mm) (2 pcs) TRX5105 are essential replacement components for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision performance and durability. Whether you're running a high-performance 1/10 scale RC buggy, an off-road crawler, or a competitive racing machine, these sealed ball bearings are engineered to provide the smooth, consistent performance that separates casual bashers from serious racers. Traxxas is a globally recognised manufacturer of premium RC vehicles and components, and these bearings reflect their commitment to quality engineering and reliability.
If you're maintaining your RC car UK setup or upgrading a worn drivetrain, these rubber-sealed ball bearings deliver the precision you need. They're particularly valuable for anyone running their RC models in challenging conditions, where debris, dirt, and moisture can compromise performance. The blue rubber seals are not just visually distinctive—they're functional protection that keeps your bearings spinning freely regardless of the environment you're driving in.
These bearings come as a pair (2 pieces), making them ideal for replacing a single location or upgrading both sides of a component simultaneously. Whether you're a seasoned competitor fine-tuning a brushless RC truck, or someone discovering the world of ready to run RC cars for the first time, maintaining quality bearings is fundamental to achieving the precision driving experience that makes RC car racing so rewarding.
Key Features
- Rubber-Sealed Design — The blue rubber seals provide complete protection against dirt, dust, sand, and moisture ingress, which is absolutely critical when running RC models outdoors or in challenging terrain. Without proper sealing, bearings quickly accumulate contamination that causes friction, noise, and premature wear, so this sealed design directly extends the lifespan of your RC car's drivetrain.
- Smooth and Precise Rotation — Ball bearings deliver smooth, low-friction rolling motion that is essential for consistent handling, rapid acceleration response, and reliable performance throughout extended driving sessions. This smoothness translates directly into better lap times for race-oriented drivers and more enjoyable bashing sessions for weekend enthusiasts.
- Long-Lasting Performance — Traxxas engineering ensures these bearings maintain their precision for extended periods, reducing the frequency of maintenance and bearing replacement in your RC car maintenance schedule. This durability makes them an economical choice for drivers who run their RC vehicles regularly.
- Pair of Two — Each pack contains two individual ball bearings, allowing you to replace both sides of a component or use them as spares for future maintenance, ensuring you always have replacements on hand when you need them.
- Dirt Environment Protection — The rubber seals provide the ultimate protection for RC drivers who regularly operate in dirt, mud, sand, or wet grass environments where conventional unsealed bearings would quickly degrade and fail.
- Traxxas Compatibility — These bearings are manufactured to Traxxas specifications and are compatible with multiple premium Traxxas models, including the 4TEC 3.0 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the Sledge Belted 1:8 4WD Brushless Electric Monster Truck, ensuring perfect fitment and performance.
Technical Performance
These 6x10x3mm ball bearings represent precision engineering at the component level. The dimensions—6mm inner diameter, 10mm outer diameter, and 3mm width—make these bearings suitable for a wide range of drivetrain applications across different Traxxas RC models. The rubber seals are engineered to create a barrier against contamination whilst maintaining smooth rotational characteristics, which is a delicate balance that requires precision manufacturing. Unlike unsealed bearings that offer minimal protection, these sealed units employ a dual-barrier design that keeps dirt particles and moisture away from the rolling elements whilst allowing the bearings to spin with minimal resistance. The choice of blue rubber is both functional and distinctive—the colour indicates these are sealed units at a glance, which is invaluable during maintenance when you're working with multiple bearing types. The ball bearing construction itself provides superior load distribution and smoothness compared to cheaper bushing alternatives, which is why serious RC car UK enthusiasts specify ball bearings for any high-performance setup. Whether you're running a brushless RC truck at competitive speeds or a high-torque crawling machine navigating technical terrain, these bearings deliver the consistent performance that reliability depends upon.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC models are these Traxxas ball bearings compatible with? — These TRX5105 ball bearings are compatible with the Traxxas 4TEC 3.0 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (both Silver TRX93054-4-SLVR and Black TRX93054-4-BLK versions) and the Traxxas Sledge Belted 1:8 4WD Brushless Electric Monster Truck in all colour options including Blue (TRX95096-4-BLUE), Orange (TRX95096-4-ORNG), Green (TRX95096-4-GRN), and Red (TRX95096-4-RED). If you're unsure whether these bearings fit your specific RC model, consult your vehicle's spare parts diagram or contact our team of RC enthusiasts.
- Why do sealed ball bearings matter for my RC car? — Sealed ball bearings provide crucial protection against the dirt, sand, mud, and moisture that your RC vehicle encounters during regular operation. Unsealed bearings allow contamination to reach the rolling elements, causing increased friction, noise, binding, and rapid wear. By using rubber-sealed bearings, you're protecting your RC car's precision drivetrain components and significantly extending the intervals between maintenance and replacement. This is especially important for anyone running RC models in outdoor environments or challenging terrain.
- How often should I replace ball bearings on my RC car? — The frequency of bearing replacement depends on your driving conditions and maintenance habits. Regular maintenance—including inspecting bearings for smoothness and replacing them when they show signs of roughness or noise—will keep your RC car running at peak performance. Sealed bearings like these TRX5105 units require less frequent replacement than unsealed alternatives because they're protected from contamination, but they should still be inspected regularly during your maintenance schedule.
- Are these bearings suitable for both casual and competitive RC driving? — Yes, absolutely. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying ready to run RC cars for leisure or a serious competitor fine-tuning a brushless RC vehicle for race performance, sealed ball bearings are the standard choice for precision performance. These Traxxas bearings meet the engineering requirements for both casual and competitive applications, making them a universally appropriate upgrade or replacement component.
- What's the difference between sealed and unsealed ball bearings? — Sealed ball bearings feature rubber or metal shields that prevent dirt, sand, and moisture from entering the bearing cavity where the balls roll. Unsealed bearings offer no protection and allow contamination to accumulate rapidly, leading to increased friction, noise, and accelerated wear. The trade-off is minimal—sealed bearings spin with only marginally more resistance than unsealed units, but the protection they provide makes them far superior for RC applications where durability matters.
