Overview

The Radient Battery Adapter, Deans (HCT) Female to Tamiya Male, 14AWG, 100mm (RDNAC010113) is an essential connector solution for RC enthusiasts in the UK who work with multiple radio control models and equipment. This handy adapter bridges the gap between different connector standards commonly found across various RC cars, trucks, and helicopters, allowing you to seamlessly connect batteries and chargers across your fleet of RC vehicles. Whether you're a seasoned RC hobbyist managing multiple ready to run RC models or a newcomer to the RC car UK scene, this compact lead provides a quick and reliable solution to connector compatibility issues.

In the world of RC hobbies, batteries and electronic equipment often come with different connector types. Some models feature Deans (HCT) connectors on batteries, while your chargers, ESCs, or other equipment might use Tamiya-style connections. Rather than needing multiple chargers or incompatible setups, this adapter allows you to standardise your connector ecosystem and maximise your battery and equipment usage across your entire RC collection. At just 100mm in length, it's compact enough to carry in your RC field kit without adding bulk.

Manufactured by Radient, a trusted name in RC electronics and accessories, this adapter is built to professional standards with 14AWG cable gauge, ensuring safe power delivery and minimal voltage drop. The construction quality reflects Radient's commitment to reliability, making it a worthwhile addition to any RC enthusiast's toolkit, whether you're running electric RC buggies, monster trucks, or other battery-powered RC models.

Key Features

  • Deans (HCT) Female to Tamiya Male Conversion — This adapter provides conversion from Deans (HCT) female connectors to Tamiya male connectors, allowing you to connect equipment with different connector standards without purchasing new batteries or chargers.
  • 14AWG Cable Gauge — The 14AWG wire specification ensures adequate current capacity and minimal voltage loss, providing safe and efficient power delivery for your RC battery connections and maintaining consistent performance across your models.
  • 100mm Lead Length — The compact 100mm (approximately) lead length keeps the adapter lightweight and portable, making it easy to store in your RC field kit or transmitter bag without adding significant weight or bulk to your setup.
  • Compact Design — Being a simple connector adapter, it requires no configuration or assembly, making it instantly usable out of the box and suitable for immediate deployment on your RC models.
  • Universal Compatibility Bridge — This adapter helps you bridge different connector standards commonly found across radio control models and equipment, reducing the need for multiple battery sets or duplicate charging infrastructure.
  • Professional Radient Manufacturing — Built by Radient, a recognised manufacturer of quality RC electronics and connectors, this adapter meets professional standards for reliability and performance in demanding RC applications.
  • Age Recommendation 14+ — This product is recommended for users aged 14 and over, reflecting that it is designed for responsible use by teenagers and adults in the RC hobby community.

Technical Performance

The Radient RDNAC010113 represents a carefully engineered solution to one of the most common frustrations in the RC hobby: connector standardisation. Using 14AWG cable throughout its 100mm length, this adapter provides exceptional current delivery capability while minimising voltage drop — a critical consideration when connecting high-drain components like brushless ESCs, LiPo battery chargers, and power distribution systems. The 14AWG gauge is a professional standard in RC applications, capable of safely handling the amperage requirements of modern brushless RC cars, including high-performance 4WD buggies, monster trucks, and racing platforms. The Deans (HCT) female connector on one end and Tamiya male connector on the other represent two of the most common standards in the RC hobby, particularly in European markets and across many ready to run RC vehicles. The fixed 100mm lead length is deliberately designed to minimise excess cable that could tangle or damage, whilst providing sufficient flexibility for practical use in typical RC setups. The overall construction reflects Radient's engineering philosophy: straightforward, reliable, and fit-for-purpose. Whether you're charging LiPo batteries for your electric RC off-road buggy, connecting an ESC to your battery harness, or managing power distribution in a complex multi-battery setup, this adapter delivers consistent, safe performance without the complications of soldering or permanent modifications to your equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do I need a Deans to Tamiya battery adapter for my RC model? — Different RC models, batteries, and chargers use different connector types. Some use Deans (HCT) connectors whilst others use Tamiya connectors. If you own multiple RC vehicles or want to use one charger across different models, this adapter eliminates the need to purchase duplicate batteries or chargers by allowing you to connect equipment with different connector standards.
  • Is this suitable for high-amp applications like brushless RC cars? — Yes, the 14AWG wire gauge is specifically chosen to handle the high current demands of brushless ESCs and modern LiPo battery systems. The 14AWG specification is a professional standard in RC applications and provides safe current delivery for brushless RC vehicles, including competitive racing setups and high-performance off-road buggies.
  • What is Deans (HCT) connector and why is it common in RC? — The Deans connector, also known as HCT (Anderson Connector variant), is a compact, low-resistance connector widely used in RC applications, particularly in European markets. It's favoured for its secure connection, low voltage drop, and compact size, making it ideal for space-constrained applications like RC cars and helicopters.
  • Can I use this adapter with any Tamiya connector equipment? — Yes, this adapter is designed to work with any equipment featuring standard Tamiya male connectors. This includes many RC chargers, speed controllers, and power distribution systems. The male Tamiya end plugs directly into female Tamiya receptacles on your equipment.
  • Is the 100mm length sufficient for typical RC installations? — The 100mm length is designed as a practical compromise between flexibility and compactness. It provides sufficient cable length to connect batteries to chargers, ESCs to battery harnesses, or other typical RC connections whilst remaining compact enough to fit in equipment bays and field kits without excess cable bunching.
  • What AWG means and why does it matter for RC connectors? — AWG (American Wire Gauge) measures wire thickness. 14AWG is a thicker, higher-capacity wire that can safely carry more current with less voltage loss than thinner gauges like 16AWG or 18AWG. For RC applications involving brushless motors and LiPo batteries that demand high amperage, 14AWG ensures safe, efficient power delivery.
  • Is this product suitable for beginners in RC hobbies? — Absolutely. This is a simple plug-and-play adapter requiring no technical knowledge to use. Beginners who own or are acquiring multiple RC models with different connector standards will find this adapter invaluable for standardising their setup and avoiding the expense of duplicate charging equipment.
