Overview
The Traxxas Ball Bearings, Black Rubber Sealed (15x26x5mm) (2 pcs) TRX5108A represent a premium upgrade for your RC car UK maintenance and performance needs. Whether you're running a high-performance brushless RC monster truck, a competitive RC buggy, or any other serious RC vehicle, these precision ball bearings deliver the smooth, long-lasting performance that separates weekend bashers from dedicated enthusiasts. Traxxas is the world's leading manufacturer of ready to run RC cars and trucks, and their genuine spare parts and tune-up components are engineered to the same exacting standards as their complete vehicles.
Black rubber seal bearings are a step above standard blue-seal bearings, offering an even tighter seal for ultimate protection and significantly reduced maintenance in dirty, muddy or dusty environments. If you regularly take your RC car off-road, run it through challenging terrain, or operate in less-than-ideal conditions, upgrading to black-seal bearings is one of the smartest investments you can make. These sealed bearings keep dirt, sand and moisture out whilst maintaining smooth, frictionless rotation—essential for maintaining top speed, acceleration and handling consistency throughout your driving sessions.
Genuine Traxxas replacement bearings ensure compatibility with a wide range of their 8S brushless monster trucks and high-performance vehicles. Whether you're maintaining an X-Maxx Belted, an X-Maxx Ultimate, or an XRT VXL-8S, having quality spare bearings on hand means you can keep your RC vehicle in peak condition without downtime waiting for repairs.
Key Features
- Black rubber sealed design — Black seals provide an even tighter seal compared to blue-seal bearings, offering superior protection against dirt, sand, mud and moisture ingress, which is critical for maintaining performance and longevity in challenging outdoor RC driving conditions.
- Stainless steel construction — These ball bearings are manufactured from stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance and durability even when exposed to wet conditions, salt spray or humid environments common in UK RC driving locations.
- Smooth, precision-engineered operation — The bearings are engineered to deliver smooth, frictionless rotation that translates directly into better acceleration, higher top speed potential and more responsive handling across your RC car or truck.
- Ultimate protection in dirty environments — Rubber-sealed ball bearings provide the ultimate protection, especially in dirt environments, reducing the need for frequent cleaning and maintenance whilst keeping your RC vehicle running at its best.
- Pair of two bearings — This pack contains two bearings, allowing you to replace a bearing set or maintain spare parts for continuous driving without interruption.
- Perfect maintenance upgrade — If your current bearings are worn, damaged or showing signs of binding, upgrading to these Traxxas genuine black-seal bearings will restore smooth operation and extend the lifespan of your RC vehicle's drivetrain.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas TRX5108A ball bearings measure 15x26x5mm and are specifically engineered for high-performance RC vehicles, particularly the larger 8S brushless monster trucks and competition-grade machines that demand precision components. The black rubber seal provides a significantly tighter seal than standard blue alternatives, which means better protection against the ingress of contaminants. Stainless steel construction ensures these bearings resist corrosion and maintain their precision even after exposure to wet conditions or humid British weather. The engineering behind these bearings focuses on maintaining smooth, consistent rotation under the extreme loads and high speeds generated by brushless motors and 8S LiPo battery systems. Whether you're bashing at full throttle or running competitive laps, these precision bearings will help maintain the responsiveness and speed your RC vehicle is capable of delivering. Regular bearing maintenance—including occasional cleaning and lubrication—will keep these components performing at their peak for extended periods of use.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Traxxas RC vehicles are compatible with the TRX5108A black rubber seal bearings? — These bearings are compatible with a wide range of high-performance Traxxas 8S brushless vehicles, including the X-Maxx Belted in Orange, Blue, Red and Green variants, the X-Maxx Ultimate in Blue X and Green X, the XRT VXL-8S in Green, Black, Blue and Orange colours, and the XRT Ultimate in Blue X and Green X. Always check your specific model's parts diagram to confirm bearing compatibility before ordering.
- What is the difference between black rubber seal and blue rubber seal bearings? — Black rubber seal bearings offer a tighter seal than blue rubber seal bearings, providing enhanced protection against dirt, sand and moisture ingress. This makes them ideal for off-road and dirty environment use where contamination is a concern. Blue seal bearings are standard and adequate for most conditions, but black seals offer superior protection and lower maintenance requirements in challenging terrain.
- Do I need to maintain these bearings? — Yes, regular maintenance will keep these bearings performing optimally. Periodically clean the bearings gently with a soft brush or compressed air to remove accumulated dirt, and apply a small amount of light bearing lubricant to ensure smooth rotation. The rubber seals help keep contaminants out, but occasional cleaning is still recommended, especially after running in muddy or sandy conditions.
- Why should I upgrade to black seal bearings? — If you frequently drive your RC car in dirty environments, muddy terrain or sandy locations, upgrading to black seal bearings significantly reduces maintenance requirements whilst providing better protection for your drivetrain components. The tighter seal means fewer contaminants reach the bearing races, resulting in longer component lifespan and more consistent performance throughout your driving sessions.
- Are these genuine Traxxas bearings? — Yes, the TRX5108A is a genuine Traxxas replacement part manufactured to the same quality standards as the bearings fitted to complete Traxxas vehicles. Purchasing authentic Traxxas spare parts ensures perfect compatibility and reliable performance.
