RC Model Shop stocks this Fusion connector set as part of our comprehensive range of RC electrics and accessories, alongside batteries, ESCs, motors, and radios from trusted brands.
XT60 connectors are preferred by RC enthusiasts across the UK and beyond because they offer a secure, positive connection with minimal voltage drop, making them suitable for high-current applications typical in modern brushless RC setups. The compact footprint of XT60 connectors also means they save space in tight battery bay installations, a significant advantage when building or upgrading high-performance RC models. This two-pair pack provides excellent value, allowing you to have spares available when you need them most.
Key Features
- Two pairs of XT60 connectors — The set includes two complete male and female connector pairs, giving you enough components to add or replace XT60 connections on multiple RC builds or to maintain backup spares for your existing equipment.
- Heat shrink tubing included — Each connector comes with protective heat shrink tubing, which provides electrical insulation and mechanical protection around the soldered joints, preventing short circuits and extending connector lifespan.
- Compact, space-saving design — XT60 connectors feature a small profile that fits neatly into battery bays and tight spaces, making them ideal for weight-conscious RC aircraft and compact RC cars where every millimetre matters.
- Secure positive connection — The XT60 design incorporates a positive locking mechanism that prevents accidental disconnection during high-speed runs, crashes, or rough handling typical in RC off-road racing and bashing.
- Low resistance contacts — Gold-plated or high-quality contact surfaces on XT60 connectors minimise voltage drop and ensure maximum efficiency in power transfer, which is crucial for maintaining optimal performance in brushless RC systems.
- Workshop essential — This compact set is perfect for keeping in your RC toolbox or workshop, allowing you to perform quick repairs, connector upgrades, or new builds without waiting for delivery or hunting through your spare parts collection.
- Universal RC compatibility — XT60 connectors are widely used across electric RC cars, RC trucks, RC buggies, and RC aircraft, making this set a versatile addition to any multi-model RC collection.
Technical Performance
The Fusion XT60 Connector Set represents reliable engineering built on the proven XT60 connector platform, which has become ubiquitous in the RC hobby for excellent reasons. XT60 connectors are rated for high current applications and deliver consistent performance across a wide range of RC electric vehicles, from small electric RC cars to large-scale brushless RC buggies and RC aircraft. The connector's design allows safe handling of the discharge currents typical in modern lithium polymer (LiPo) and lithium-ion RC batteries, which can range from moderate current draws in sport flying RC aircraft to extreme discharge rates in high-performance brushless RC racing applications. The heat shrink tubing supplied with this set provides essential protection for your soldered connections, acting as both electrical insulation and mechanical strain relief. Gold-plated contact surfaces ensure low resistance and consistent power delivery, which is particularly important in systems using high-capacity batteries and high-kV brushless motors where even small voltage losses can noticeably impact performance. The compact profile of XT60 connectors makes them ideal for contemporary RC designs where battery integration, weight distribution, and space efficiency are critical factors in overall vehicle performance. Whether you're building a new racing RC car, upgrading an existing brushless RC model, or maintaining a collection of diverse RC vehicles, this connector set provides the engineering quality and reliability expected from Fusion components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an XT60 connector and why is it used in RC vehicles? — XT60 connectors are a type of power connector widely used in electric RC cars, RC trucks, RC aircraft, and other RC models. They feature a compact design with a positive locking mechanism that prevents accidental disconnection. XT60 connectors are preferred in the RC hobby because they handle high discharge currents safely, maintain low resistance for efficient power transfer, and fit neatly into modern compact RC designs. If you're running a brushless RC car or electric RC aircraft powered by LiPo batteries, XT60 connectors are a standard choice.
- Can I use XT60 connectors on any RC vehicle? — XT60 connectors are most commonly used on electric RC vehicles including brushless RC cars, RC buggies, RC trucks, and electric RC aircraft. However, they're not universal—some older RC models or specific brands may use different connector types such as Deans, EC3, Tamiya, or other proprietary connectors. Before purchasing, check your RC vehicle's manual or existing connector to ensure compatibility. If you're standardising your RC collection, XT60 is an excellent choice supported across most modern electric RC platforms available in the UK.
- Do I need to solder the connectors myself? — Yes, XT60 connectors require soldering to your RC battery leads and ESC wires. You'll need a soldering iron, solder, and basic soldering skills to attach these connectors. The heat shrink tubing provided in this set should be fitted over the soldered joint to provide insulation and protection. If soldering is new to you, numerous RC guides and videos demonstrate the correct technique—it's a straightforward skill that every RC enthusiast should develop for maintaining and building RC models.
- What current rating do XT60 connectors handle? — XT60 connectors are rated for high current applications typical in modern RC systems, making them suitable for brushless RC cars, RC aircraft, and other electric RC vehicles. They're commonly used with batteries ranging from 2S to 6S LiPo configurations and can safely handle the discharge currents from these batteries without overheating or voltage drop issues. For extremely high-current applications (above typical XT60 ratings), some RC builders use alternatives like XT90 or AS150 connectors.
- How many connector pairs do I need? — This set includes two pairs (two males and two females), which is sufficient to replace connectors on one battery and ESC combination, or to have spare sets available for repairs and new builds. If you're maintaining multiple RC vehicles or building several new models, consider purchasing additional sets. RC Model Shop stocks XT60 connector sets in various quantities, including larger packs if you need more connectors at once.
- Is this suitable for high-performance RC racing? — Yes, XT60 connectors are widely used in competitive RC racing across the UK and internationally. They provide reliable power delivery and secure connections essential for consistent performance in racing applications. Many race-spec RC cars use XT60 connectors, making this set a practical choice whether you're building a competition RC buggy, RC truck, or high-speed RC car.
- What's the difference between XT60 and XT90 connectors? — XT90 connectors are larger than XT60 and rated for higher current applications, making them suitable for larger RC vehicles and extreme-performance setups. XT60 connectors are more compact and popular in modern RC design, offering excellent performance for standard brushless RC cars, RC aircraft, and RC trucks. If your RC vehicle uses XT60, this set is the correct choice. If you need XT90 connectors, RC Model Shop also stocks those separately.
