Overview
The Radient Battery Adapter, Deans (HCT) Female to EC3 Male, is an essential connector solution for RC enthusiasts across the UK who work with multiple RC vehicles and chargers. Whether you're running RC cars, RC trucks, RC aircraft or managing a collection of batteries with mixed connectors, this compact adapter lead bridges the gap between Deans (HCT) and EC3 connector types, eliminating the need for soldering or cutting connectors on your valuable equipment. This adapter is ideal for anyone who owns RC models from different manufacturers or has accumulated batteries and chargers with incompatible connector types over time.
Designed by Radient as a practical solution for hobbyists who demand reliability without compromise, this adapter keeps your RC setup neat and organised whilst maintaining full electrical integrity. At just 100mm in length, it strikes the perfect balance between being compact enough to tidy up your wiring whilst remaining long enough to work comfortably in real-world RC applications. The 14AWG wire gauge ensures sufficient current capacity for demanding RC uses, whether you're charging high-capacity batteries or powering through an intense track session with your ready to run RC car or truck.
RC Model Shop stocks this essential connector adapter because we understand that the RC hobby often involves equipment from various manufacturers, and maintaining compatibility across your collection shouldn't require expensive replacements or risky modifications. This is why the Radient adapter has become a trusted choice for RC enthusiasts right across the UK, from casual weekend bashers to serious competitors who need reliable, tried-and-tested connector solutions.
Key Features
- Deans (HCT) Female to EC3 Male Configuration — This adapter features a female Deans (HCT) connector on one end and a male EC3 connector on the other, allowing you to connect batteries, ESCs and chargers that use these two connector types without modification to the original equipment.
- 14AWG Wire Gauge — The 14AWG silicone wire provides excellent current carrying capacity whilst remaining flexible and easy to handle, making it suitable for both charging applications and high-discharge scenarios common in RC hobbies.
- 100mm Lead Length — At 100mm long, this adapter is compact enough to maintain a tidy installation in confined spaces typical of modern RC vehicles, yet long enough to reach between connectors without strain or stress on the connections.
- Low Resistance Design — By using quality connectors and properly gauged wire, this adapter minimises voltage drop and resistance in the power circuit, ensuring maximum efficiency when powering or charging your RC equipment.
- Compact and Portable — Weighing just 0.02kg, this adapter is light enough to carry in your pit bag or transmitter case, making it perfect for track days, competitions, or weekend bashing sessions where you might encounter connector compatibility issues.
- Quality Construction — Radient adapters are engineered to professional standards, with secure connections and durable components that withstand the demands of regular RC use without degradation or failure.
- Versatile Application — This adapter works across the entire RC spectrum, compatible with RC cars, RC trucks, RC aircraft, and chargers that use Deans (HCT) or EC3 connectors, making it a genuinely universal solution for mixed RC collections.
Technical Performance
The Radient RDNAC010112 battery adapter represents a thoughtfully engineered solution that prioritises both electrical performance and practical usability. The 14AWG wire gauge was specifically chosen to balance current-carrying capacity with flexibility and ease of installation. In RC applications, this wire gauge is recognised as suitable for continuous charging currents and high-discharge scenarios, making it appropriate for everything from standard LiPo battery charging through dedicated charge leads to actual power delivery in RC vehicles. The connectors themselves are manufactured to tight tolerances to ensure secure, low-resistance connections that minimise power loss and heat generation during use. At 100mm in length, the adapter provides sufficient reach for typical battery-to-ESC or battery-to-charger connections whilst remaining compact enough to integrate cleanly into modern RC installations where space is often at a premium. The quality of the connector contact surfaces and the care taken in manufacturing ensures that this adapter will provide reliable service across thousands of connection cycles, whether you're connecting and disconnecting daily or using it as a semi-permanent bridge in your RC setup. Radient's attention to detail in manufacturing means you can rely on this adapter as part of your mission-critical RC equipment, not as a temporary workaround.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between Deans and EC3 connectors on RC batteries and chargers? — Deans (also called HCT or T-style plugs) and EC3 connectors are two different physical connector standards used in the RC hobby. Different manufacturers have standardised on different connector types, so if your battery uses one type and your ESC or charger uses another, you need an adapter to connect them safely. This Radient adapter bridges that gap without requiring any soldering or modification.
- Can I use this adapter with my RC car, RC truck or RC aircraft? — Yes, this adapter is compatible with any RC model—cars, trucks, aircraft and more—as long as you have components with Deans (HCT) female and EC3 male connectors that need to be connected. It works equally well as a charging adapter or as a connection bridge between battery and ESC in your setup.
- Is this adapter suitable for high-discharge RC applications? — Yes, the 14AWG wire gauge is specifically designed to handle both charging currents and the high-discharge currents typical of brushless RC vehicles, making it suitable for serious RC use including racing and competitive applications.
- Why should I use an adapter instead of cutting and soldering new connectors? — Using an adapter like the Radient RDNAC010112 preserves your original equipment, allows you to switch between different connector types quickly, eliminates the risk of soldering damage, and means you don't need specialist soldering equipment or skills. It's also reversible—if you later acquire different equipment, you haven't permanently modified anything.
- How long is the 100mm cable and is it long enough for my setup? — 100mm is approximately 4 inches, which is sufficient for most RC battery-to-ESC connections and standard charging applications. It's long enough to avoid straining the connectors whilst being short enough to keep wiring tidy in confined RC vehicle spaces.
- What age is this adapter recommended for? — Radient recommends this adapter for ages 14 and above, reflecting the need for responsible handling of RC battery connections and understanding of electrical safety in the hobby.
- Will this adapter work with my specific RC brand? — If your RC model uses Deans (HCT) or EC3 connectors—including brands like Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi, and many others—this adapter will work. Check your battery, ESC and charger connector types to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
