Overview
The ARRMA Shock Set with 11mm bore and 109mm length represents an essential replacement and upgrade component for RC car enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're maintaining your existing ARRMA RC vehicle or looking to improve suspension performance on your short course truck or monster truck, this assembled shock set delivers high-quality engineering and reliable damping characteristics. Pre-filled with 500cSt silicone shock oil, these shocks are ready to bolt directly onto your vehicle after you've fitted your choice of springs, making them ideal for both beginners exploring the world of ready-to-run RC cars and experienced competitors seeking premium suspension components.
ARRMA has built a reputation for producing durable, high-performance RC vehicles and replacement parts that stand up to serious bashing and racing demands. This shock set exemplifies that commitment to quality, offering assembled shock absorbers that eliminate the need for complex building and tuning before installation. For anyone running ARRMA RC models such as the 1/10 FURY, GORGON, or VORTEKS ranges, having quality replacement shocks on hand ensures you can maintain peak performance whether you're enjoying weekend bashing sessions or competitive track days.
What makes this shock set particularly valuable is the combination of high-quality materials, pre-assembly convenience, and the inclusion of spring spacers for fine-tuning your vehicle's ride height. Rather than purchasing individual components and assembling them yourself, this complete shock set arrives ready to integrate into your suspension system, saving you time and ensuring consistent performance across both front and rear installations.
Key Features
- Assembled and Ready to Install — The shocks arrive fully assembled, eliminating the need for complex suspension building and allowing you to simply bolt them onto your RC vehicle after selecting and fitting your preferred springs, saving significant time compared to sourcing and assembling individual components.
- Pre-filled with 500cSt Silicone Shock Oil — Each shock is factory-filled with 500cSt silicone shock oil, which provides consistent damping performance and reduces the possibility of installation errors, allowing you to get on the track or trail immediately without additional setup requirements.
- 11mm Bore Diameter — The 11mm bore size delivers the precise damping characteristics that ARRMA vehicles are engineered to accept, ensuring compatibility and optimal suspension performance across a range of driving conditions and surfaces.
- 109mm Overall Length — This specific length measurement matches the suspension geometry of compatible ARRMA models, guaranteeing proper ride height and maintaining the vehicle's intended handling characteristics and stability.
- Spring Spacers Included for Ride Height Tuning — The supplied spring spacers enable fine adjustment of your vehicle's ride height and suspension travel, allowing you to optimise performance for different track conditions, terrain types, or personal driving preferences without purchasing additional components.
- High-Quality Materials and Construction — Built from premium materials selected for durability and longevity, these shock absorbers withstand the rigours of intensive RC bashing, racing, and competitive use while maintaining consistent performance through extended use.
- Set of Two Shocks — You receive a complete pair of assembled shock absorbers, which is the standard requirement for updating front or rear suspension on your RC vehicle, though many enthusiasts purchase multiple sets to maintain full vehicle coverage.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Set Bore:11mm, Length: 109mm, Oil: 500cSt represents a purpose-engineered suspension component designed specifically for ARRMA's range of 1/10 scale RC vehicles. The 11mm bore diameter and 109mm length specifications are critical dimensions that align with the suspension geometry found on models including the 1/10 FURY 223S DSC 2WD, the 1/10 FURY 2WD, the 1/10 GORGON 2WD, and the 1/10 VORTEKS ranges. The pre-filled 500cSt silicone oil provides the ideal viscosity for balancing responsive handling with bump absorption across various terrain types, from smooth tarmac circuits to rough off-road surfaces and rocky trails. Unlike lower-viscosity oils that may provide overly sensitive response or higher-viscosity formulations that can feel sluggish, the 500cSt specification represents a proven compromise that delivers predictable, controllable damping performance. The assembled construction eliminates tolerances that might be introduced through manual assembly, ensuring both shocks perform identically for balanced vehicle behaviour. The inclusion of spring spacers allows fine-tuning of ride height, which directly affects suspension geometry, weight distribution, and the vehicle's overall centre of gravity, all factors critical to achieving optimal handling on your preferred surfaces. Whether you're bashing through garden terrain, competing at an RC track, or exploring varied landscape, these shocks maintain consistent performance while the high-quality materials resist wear and maintain their damping characteristics through hundreds of charge cycles and miles of driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which ARRMA RC cars is this shock set compatible with? — This shock set fits a comprehensive range of ARRMA 1/10 scale vehicles including the 1/10 FURY 223S DSC 2WD RTR Brushless Short Course Truck, the 1/10 FURY 2WD RTR Brushed Short Course Truck, the 1/10 GORGON 2WD RTA Kit, the 1/10 GORGON 2WD RTR variants, the 1/10 VORTEKS 3S 4X4 RTR Brushless Stadium Truck, and the 1/10 VORTEKS BOOST 2WD RTR Brushed Stadium Truck models. Always verify compatibility with your specific model number before purchasing.
- Do I need to do anything before installing these shocks on my RC car? — The shocks arrive assembled and pre-filled with 500cSt silicone oil, so you only need to select and fit your preferred shock springs (ARA330713 springs are recommended) and use the included spring spacers to set your desired ride height before bolting them onto your vehicle's suspension mounting points.
- What oil viscosity is used in these shocks and can I change it? — These shocks are pre-filled with 500cSt silicone shock oil, which provides balanced damping for general-purpose use across varied terrain. The 500cSt specification is a proven standard that suits most drivers and conditions; however, experienced tuners sometimes experiment with different viscosities for specific track conditions, though this is not required for standard use.
- Why do these shocks require separate spring purchases? — ARRMA supplies shocks and springs separately to allow customisation of suspension stiffness based on your driving style, vehicle weight, and intended use. Stiffer springs suit high-speed bashing on rough terrain, whilst softer springs provide better bump absorption on smooth tracks. The ARA330713 springs at 1.06N/mm (6.05lbf/in) represent the standard recommended pairing with these 11mm bore, 109mm length shocks.
- How many shock absorbers do I need to fully upgrade my vehicle? — Most RC cars require four shock absorbers total: two for the front suspension and two for the rear. This set contains two assembled shocks, so you may need to purchase two sets to completely upgrade both front and rear, depending on whether you're replacing only damaged components or performing a full suspension overhaul.
- Are these shocks suitable for beginners? — Yes, these assembled shocks are particularly suitable for beginners because they arrive ready to install without requiring complex assembly or initial tuning. Beginners simply need to fit their chosen springs and spacers, then bolt them onto their ARRMA vehicle, making them far more approachable than sourcing and assembling individual shock components separately.
- What is the difference between this 11mm bore shock and larger bore options? — The 11mm bore diameter is specifically engineered for ARRMA's 1/10 scale models and provides the correct damping characteristics for their suspension geometry. Larger bore shocks would alter suspension response and could affect handling balance; this 11mm specification is the correct choice for the vehicles listed in the compatibility chart.
- Can I use these shocks on other RC brands? — These shocks are engineered specifically for ARRMA suspension systems. Whilst the physical mounting and geometry may occasionally align with other brands, ARRMA does not officially recommend or support fitting these shocks to non-ARRMA vehicles, as suspension characteristics may differ and performance could be compromised.
