Key Features

  • Built-in Data Logging with 380 Minutes Storage — The ESC features an integrated data recording module capable of storing up to 19 groups of 20-minute data sessions, allowing you to capture comprehensive telemetry from your practice runs and races without requiring an external Bluetooth module to remain connected during operation. This revolutionary feature lets you review throttle position, voltage, current, temperature, motor RPM, vehicle speed and other critical performance parameters as detailed curve graphs after each session, enabling data-driven setup optimisation.
  • Advanced Freewheeling Function for Lower Operating Temperatures — Compared to the previous XR10 Pro G2S ESC, the new freewheeling technology theoretically reduces operating temperature by around 15 degrees during operation, significantly improving overall consistency and reliability. This temperature reduction is especially beneficial under higher load applications, allowing your ESC and motor to run cooler for extended periods during long race heats or practice sessions. The adjustable RPM decrease rate setting offers faster deceleration off throttle, enhancing control precision through technical corners.
  • Revolutionary Disc Brake Mode with Linear Control — The innovative closed-loop brake control system creates a genuinely linear brake output at all speeds, completely solving the problem of non-linear braking force that occurs with traditional braking methods. This means your brake feel remains consistent whether you're modulating brakes at high speed or fine-tuning brake pressure through tight corners. The system also supports Brake Force Curvature adjustment for further fine-tuning of brake bias feeling, whilst traditional Linear and Traditional braking modes remain available for drivers who prefer conventional settings.
  • Durable Frameless Fan with Smart Start-Stop Function — The new frameless fan design features specially-engineered blades made from high-rigidity materials that significantly outperform traditional PBT framed fans in durability, resisting damage from small stones, sand and debris encountered during outdoor racing. The intelligent smart start-stop function keeps the fan off when cooling isn't required, automatically activating only when ESC temperature rises, ensuring optimal thermal management whilst reducing power consumption and minimising electrical noise. This feature can be disabled through parameter settings if preferred.
  • Extensive 44-Parameter Programmable Control System — The XR10 Pro G3 offers dual-level tuning with 24 basic parameters for simplified operation or access to the full 44 advanced parameters for complete control. This includes throttle and brake curvature adjustment, freewheeling control, disc brake settings, drag brake force and frequency, boost timing, turbo timing, motor poles, gear ratio configuration and tyre diameter input, allowing drivers to fine-tune every aspect of ESC behaviour to match their specific vehicle, driving style and track conditions.
  • Low Centre of Gravity Design with Detachable Fan Assembly — The ESC features an improved lower centre of gravity design with the overall height reduced by 2mm compared to the previous generation, effectively lowering your vehicle's centre of gravity to improve balance and handling. The fan assembly is fully detachable, allowing you to reduce the ESC's profile even further when cooling fans aren't required, giving you complete flexibility in chassis packaging and weight distribution.
  • Optimised Cable Layout for Simplified Wiring — The ESC features an intelligent cable output design optimised for both on-road touring car applications and off-road buggy layouts, making installation straightforward. The included U-type connectors provide flexible wiring options to accommodate flat soldering, diagonal soldering and various cable routing requirements, reducing setup time and wiring errors.
  • Built-in Reverse Polarity Protection Circuit — The black G3 variant includes an integrated reverse connection protection circuit that effectively prevents ESC damage from accidental reverse battery connections. With the optional non-polarity capacitor, your entire power system gains complete reverse polarity protection, providing critical safety assurance during high-pressure competition environments.
  • Adjustable BEC for High-Voltage Servo Support — The integrated switch-mode BEC delivers adjustable voltage output from 5.0V to 7.4V, adjustable in 0.1V increments, with peak output current of 10A and continuous 6A rating. This flexible output specification supports both high-torque and high-voltage servos, eliminating the need for external battery elimination circuits and simplifying your electrical architecture.
  • Real-Time Data Output and Historical Graph Analysis — Connect via the OTA Programmer or LCD Program Box Pro to access real-time operational data during runs and review complete historical data logs as detailed curve graphs after your session. This comprehensive telemetry analysis capability enables precise tuning decisions based on actual vehicle performance data rather than guesswork.
  • Softening 2.0 Technology for Improved Drivability — The optimised Softening 2.0 technology enhances driving force in the initial acceleration phase, significantly improving drivability of high-power vehicles without sacrificing top-end speed. This technology creates a more responsive and controllable power delivery characteristic that's particularly beneficial in competitive racing scenarios.
  • Compatible with OTA Programmer and LCD Program Boxes — The ESC supports firmware updates and comprehensive parameter adjustment through the Hobbywing OTA Programmer (Bluetooth wireless control via smartphone app) or LCD Program Box Pro, providing convenient access to all settings whether in the pits or at home. The OTA Programmer operates via Bluetooth 4.0 or later with an effective range up to 5 metres in open field conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the XERUN XR10 Pro Black G3 suitable for beginners or does it require advanced tuning knowledge? — This is a professional competition ESC designed for experienced racers and is not recommended for beginners. Whilst the dual-parameter system offers 24 basic settings for simplified operation, the ESC's true capability requires understanding of advanced tuning concepts including freewheeling settings, disc brake mode configuration, boost and turbo timing, gear ratio input and motor pole count adjustment. Incorrect parameter settings could damage the ESC or motor. If you're new to RC racing, consider starting with an entry-level competition ESC before progressing to the XR10 Pro G3.
  • What battery does the XERUN XR10 Pro G3 need? — The ESC requires a 2S LiPo battery (two lithium polymer cells providing 7.4 volts nominal, up to 8.4 volts fully charged). The specific capacity and discharge rating depends on your motor choice and intended application, but racing-oriented 2S packs typically range from 2000mAh to 5000mAh capacity with 100C+ continuous discharge rating. Always use a quality LiPo battery charger with appropriate 2S balance charging capability and follow all manufacturer safety guidelines when handling lithium polymer batteries.
  • What is the difference between the Black G3 and Grey G3X variants? — The Black G3 ESC (HW30112619, this model) features 13AWG input and output wiring, includes built-in reverse polarity protection, and is optimised for Modified class racing with a smoother power delivery characteristic. The Titanium Grey G3X variant (HW30112620) uses heavier 12AWG wiring, does not include reverse polarity protection, offers more punch and aggressive power delivery suited to Stock class racing, and is slightly heavier at 101.5 grams. Choose the Black G3 if you prefer smoother controlled power and protection against accidental reverse connections, or the G3X if you want maximum aggression and accept the responsibility of careful battery connection.
  • Can I use this ESC with sensorless brushless motors, or does it require sensored motors? — The XERUN XR10 Pro G3 is compatible with both sensored and sensorless brushless motors. Sensored motors feature internal Hall effect sensors that provide commutation feedback for precise control, whilst sensorless motors require the ESC to estimate rotor position through back-EMF measurement. Both motor types are fully supported, though sensored motors may offer superior control response and lower-speed performance in racing applications. Your motor choice should be guided by your specific racing discipline and local regulations.
  • What programmable parameters can I adjust on this ESC? — The XR10 Pro G3 offers 44 total programmable parameters across two difficulty levels. Basic mode (24 parameters) covers essential settings like running mode, reverse force, cutoff voltage, thermal protection, BEC voltage, smart fan control, throttle rate control, throttle curvature, neutral range, initial throttle force, freewheeling, drag brake force, maximum brake force, brake control mode, ABS force, brake curvature and boost timing. Advanced mode (44 parameters) adds comprehensive additional settings including phase-AC swap, PWM frequency, softening values, RPM decrease rate, brake frequency, brake rate control, boost activation thresholds, turbo timing with delay and rate control, motor poles, gear ratio and tyre diameter input. This extensive programmability allows complete fine-tuning for any racing scenario.
  • Does the built-in data logging require an external Bluetooth module to stay connected during racing? — No. The revolutionary integrated data logging feature stores up to 19 groups of 20-minute data sessions (380 minutes total) without requiring the OTA Bluetooth module to remain connected during operation. You can run your entire practice session or race heat, then connect the OTA Programmer or LCD Program Box Pro afterwards to download and review the complete telemetry data as detailed curve graphs. This eliminates the need for continuous wireless connection and associated weight, complexity and potential interference.
  • What motors are compatible with this ESC? — The XERUN XR10 Pro G3 is specifically compatible with XERUN V10 G4R, XERUN V10 G3 and Bandit G4 sensored and sensorless brushless motors for 1/10 scale racing applications. These motors are purpose-designed for Modified and Stock class competition. The ESC accepts custom gear ratio input through parameter programming, so it can work with other 1/10 scale brushless motors provided they feature sensored or sensorless operation and appropriate power ratings for 2S LiPo batteries.
  • Is the XERUN XR10 Pro G3 waterproof? — No. The ESC is not waterproof and should not be deliberately exposed to water or moisture. This is typical for racing-focused competition ESCs that prioritise low weight, small size and maximum thermal efficiency over environmental sealing. Ensure your installation keeps the ESC dry during operation, and avoid wet storage conditions. If used in outdoor racing where rain or water splash could occur, implement protective casing or strategic mounting to minimise exposure.
  • Can I upgrade the firmware on this ESC? — Yes. The XERUN XR10 Pro G3 supports firmware upgrades through either the OTA Programmer (wireless Bluetooth connection) or LCD Program Box Pro (hardwired connection). Firmware updates may include performance enhancements, new features, expanded tuning options and compatibility improvements. Check the Hobbywing website regularly for available firmware versions and follow all manufacturer instructions carefully when performing updates.
  • What is the reverse polarity protection circuit and how does it work? — The Black G3 variant includes a built-in reverse connection protection circuit that prevents ESC damage if the battery is accidentally connected with reversed polarity (positive and negative wires swapped). However, the standard ESC capacitor itself does not have reverse voltage protection, so whilst the ESC circuitry remains safe, the capacitor pack would be damaged by reverse connection. For complete system protection including the capacitor, you can use an optional non-polarity capacitor in addition to the built-in circuit protection. The G3X grey variant does not include reverse polarity protection and will suffer damage if connected incorrectly, requiring extreme care during setup.
  • Can I adjust the BEC output voltage for different servo voltage requirements? — Yes. The integrated switch-mode BEC allows continuous adjustment of output voltage from 5.0V to 7.4V in 0.1V increments. This flexibility means you can power standard 5V servos, mid-voltage 5.5V to 6.5V servos, or high-voltage 7.2V to 7.4V servos all from the same ESC without external battery elimination circuits. Adjust the BEC voltage through the parameter menu using the OTA Programmer or LCD Program Box Pro to match your servo specifications exactly.
