Key Features
- New 3-gear laydown transmission — The centerpiece of the RC10SC7's engineering, this revolutionary transmission features a durable split-case design that ensures secure gear mesh under extreme racing conditions. The large 10mm aluminium idler shaft is integrated directly into the transmission structure for maximum rigidity, while the 54-tooth idler with 10x15mm idler bearings adds durability and stability that survives repeated high-stress racing. This design delivers responsive power delivery with reduced lag and lower operating temperatures, which is critical for spec racing where consistency matters.
- Low centre of gravity suspension — The new truck-specific gull wing long-arm suspension geometry is engineered to improve grip and predictability in all conditions, from tight indoor tracks to outdoor short course circuits. Combined with shorter 13mm big-bore shock bodies measuring 25mm at the front and 31mm at the rear, this suspension setup dramatically lowers the vehicle's centre of gravity, which improves cornering speed and stability during aggressive racing manoeuvres.
- Updated zero KPI steering blocks — These precision-engineered steering components with selectable 3mm and 4mm trail options give you complete control over front-end feel and response characteristics. Zero KPI (Kingpin Inclination) design eliminates bump steer for consistent steering response, whilst the adjustable trail options allow fine-tuning for different track conditions and racing styles.
- B7 V2 caster block with enhanced stiffness — The updated caster block provides added front-end stiffness and durability, featuring a steel front inner hinge pin brace that's integrated into the overall chassis design. This combination of materials and engineering ensures the front end can withstand the punishment of competitive racing without flex or deflection that would compromise handling precision.
- Strengthened short course chassis design — The new chassis is a stronger short course-specific evolution of the proven RC10B7 buggy platform. It maintains the same mounting locations and anti-roll bar hardware compatibility as the RC10B7, allowing seamless parts sharing across multiple classes, whilst adding structural enhancements specifically engineered for short course truck geometry and loads.
- SC7 adjustable-height body mount system — This innovative mounting system allows you to adjust the height of your body mount for different setups and track conditions, directly affecting how the truck handles and how your electronics package fits within the chassis. This level of adjustability is essential for competitive tuning.
- SC7 hinged bumper and skid plate system — Practical trackside serviceability is built into the design with a hinged bumper and integrated skid plate, allowing you to access the front suspension and electronics quickly without complete disassembly. This is invaluable during racing events where you need to make fast adjustments between heats.
- Front and rear anti-roll bars included — The kit includes truck-specific anti-roll bars for both front and rear, engineered with an accessible design based on the proven RC10B7 platform. These wide-mount anti-roll bars directly control how much the chassis rolls in corners, a critical tuning parameter for optimising grip and handling feel.
- RC10B7 ball differential — The included ball differential offers smooth, predictable power delivery and is fully compatible with the B7 gear differential if you prefer to upgrade. This flexibility means you can experiment with different differential types to match your driving style and track conditions.
- Premium shock shafts and bodies — TiN gold-plated shock shafts measuring 3x24mm and 3x29mm offer superior durability and reduced friction compared to standard steel, whilst the 13mm big-bore shock bodies provide the strength needed for aggressive racing. The gold TiN coating isn't just for aesthetics — it provides genuine performance benefits through reduced wear and smoother damping action.
- Aluminium front bulkhead and steel hinge pin brace — The choice of materials here is deliberate: aluminium for weight savings and precision, steel for the high-stress hinge pin brace area where durability is paramount. This hybrid approach delivers both performance and reliability.
Technical Performance
The RC10SC7 Team Kit represents state-of-the-art engineering in 1/10 scale short course racing. The new 3-gear laydown transmission is engineered to reduce parasitic drag whilst efficiently transferring all available power to the larger short course truck tyres. This is achieved through a combination of factors: the integrated 10mm aluminium idler shaft eliminates external mounting points that create friction, the 54-tooth idler with precision 10x15mm bearings reduces internal resistance, and the overall split-case design allows tighter gear mesh without binding. The result is responsive power delivery with minimal lag and lower operating temperatures compared to traditional transmission designs. The 2.60:1 internal gear ratio is optimised for short course racing, providing a balance between acceleration and top-end performance. The suspension geometry, featuring the truck-specific gull wing long-arm design, works in concert with the lower centre of gravity to create a handling platform that's predictable, forgiving and ultimately faster through corners. The 25mm front and 31mm rear 13mm big-bore shock bodies are dimensionally optimised for the SC7 chassis, with internal damping curves tuned specifically for short course truck dynamics. Whether you're running on a tight indoor clay track or an outdoor grass short course circuit, the adjustable caster blocks, zero KPI steering geometry and anti-roll bar system give you enough tuning range to dial in the perfect setup. The aluminium construction of the front bulkhead and strategic placement of the steel hinge pin brace mean the chassis can handle corner impacts and abuse without sacrificing precision. This is a precision instrument built for performance, requiring careful assembly, regular maintenance and thoughtful tuning to unlock its full potential.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated RC10SC7 Team Kit suitable for beginners? — No, this kit is designed for experienced RC builders and competitive racers. As an unassembled kit, it requires comprehensive building knowledge, precision mechanical skills and understanding of suspension tuning. You must be able to assemble the transmission, suspension and drivetrain correctly, and possess the knowledge to tune components like the caster blocks, anti-roll bars and differential for optimal performance. Beginners should start with ready-to-run RC cars or simpler assembly kits before attempting a competition-level platform like the RC10SC7.
- What makes the RC10SC7 different from the RC10B7? — While the RC10SC7 shares many components and mounting points with the RC10B7, it's specifically engineered for short course truck racing rather than 2WD buggy racing. Key differences include the truck-specific gull wing long-arm suspension geometry, shorter shock bodies optimised for lower centre of gravity, the new hinged bumper and skid plate system for truck servicing, and the SC7 adjustable-height body mount system. The RC10B7 is designed for flat-track buggy racing whilst the RC10SC7 excels on short course circuits with varied terrain.
- Can I use RC10B7 parts on the RC10SC7? — Yes, this is one of the RC10SC7's key advantages. The kit shares mounting locations and anti-roll bar hardware with the RC10B7 and RC10B7D Team Kits, making it possible to swap components between these platforms for experimental setups or repairs. However, some truck-specific components like the gull wing suspension arms and SC7 bumper system are unique to this model. Always verify compatibility before purchasing parts, as some components have truck-specific geometry that won't work on buggy platforms.
- What battery should I use with the RC10SC7? — The RC10SC7 kit doesn't include a motor or ESC, so battery compatibility depends entirely on your chosen motor and speed controller. Most competitive short course racers use either 2S or 3S LiPo batteries, with 2S providing better handling characteristics and 3S offering higher top speed. Consult the specifications of your chosen motor and ESC to determine the correct voltage compatibility, and always use quality batteries with low internal resistance from reputable manufacturers.
- How long does it take to build the RC10SC7? — Assembly time varies dramatically depending on your experience level. Experienced builders might complete assembly in 8-12 hours, whilst first-time builders could require 20+ hours. This isn't just about putting pieces together — precision is critical. Poor assembly of the transmission, suspension geometry or differential will result in unreliable performance and potential damage. Budget adequate time and follow the instruction manual precisely.
- Does the RC10SC7 come with a transmitter and receiver? — No, the kit does not include radio equipment. You must purchase a separate 2.4GHz radio system and receiver compatible with your chosen servo. Most competitive racers use quality surface radios from manufacturers like Futaba or Spektrum, which offer the precision and reliability required for racing.
- Is the RC10SC7 waterproof? — The chassis itself offers no particular waterproofing. However, the hinged bumper and skid plate system makes it easy to access electronics and protect them from water exposure. You must use waterproof-rated ESC and servo components if you plan to race in wet conditions, and always avoid submerging the vehicle in water.
- What's included in the transmission upgrade? — The new 3-gear laydown transmission features a split-case design, a 10mm aluminium idler shaft integrated into the transmission structure, and a 54-tooth idler with 10x15mm bearings. This transmission can theoretically retrofit B7 buggy platforms, though truck-specific tuning may be required. The design prioritises reduced drag and consistent power delivery for spec racing where reliability and performance consistency are paramount.
