Many RC pilots got their first taste of flying a Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) capable airplane with the original E-flite® Timber® 1.5m model. Its friendly handling, nimble sport performance, and takeoff-and-land-almost-anywhere abilities made it one of the most popular RC aircraft of all time — widely acclaimed and highly recommended as a great "next step" after a trainer, as the perfect first STOL-capable aircraft, and as one of the best all-around, fun-to-fly models for a wide range of pilots. This Special Edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of the release of that iconic model with the same short-nosed look and trim scheme – but all the modern conveniences, features, technologies, and capabilities expected in Timber models today. From a top-mounted hatch for easier and faster battery changes, stronger main landing gear mounts and heavy-duty springs, combined connectors for simpler wing installation and removal, to many more features that make it more durable, convenient, and capable than ever before!
E-flite Timber 1.5m 10th Anniversary Special Edition Overview
The E-flite Timber 1.5m 10th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates the release of one of the most popular and best-selling RC aircraft of all time! All the popular features from the original Timber 1.5m are there: shock-absorbing landing gear with oversized, tundra-style wheels; an optional-use float set and leading edge slats; functional slotted flaps; and an LED lighting system with landing, navigation, and strobe lights. So are the enhancements that gave the Turbo Timber 1.5m more performance and capabilities, including a more powerful 3S and 4S 2200–5000mAh compatible power system, and a stiffer wing. Now this Special Edition adds a top-mounted hatch for faster, easier battery changes, plus combined connectors for simpler wing installation and removal. Strengthened landing gear mounts, along with heavier-duty springs, improve the model's durability and STOL capability when flying from rough terrain. Plus, it also features the iconic short-nose and trim scheme design for a now "classic" look!
Both versions feature more reliable and durable metal-geared servos, a 3S and 4S compatible motor, and a higher-capacity 70-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version includes a factory-installed AR631+ receiver featuring exclusive and enhanced AS3X+ along with optional-use SAFE Select technologies. The receiver also delivers real-time telemetry, including overall battery voltage, current, and more to compatible transmitters – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – plus motor/thrust reversing for special ground handling and other capabilities. Hollow-core EPO construction with composite reinforcement results in a lightweight yet strong airframe that makes it capable of handling a wide variety of aerobatic maneuvers while keeping the wing loading low for impressive Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) and slow flight performance. You can even install the optional-use leading edge slats for improved slow-flight performance, or the included floats so you can fly from water too. We want to make sure your delivery goes smoothly, so here are some important details about our service:
- For orders above £120, we offer delivery to most mainland UK addresses. For orders under £120, we can still deliver to Northern Ireland and the outlying isles, as long as the item can be sent by Royal Mail, weighs less than 30kg, and fits within 61cm × 46cm × 46cm. Some highland and remote areas may carry an extra delivery charge as couriers often apply surcharges in these locations. If you live in one of these areas, feel free to contact us before ordering so we can confirm the delivery options and costs for you.
- Most of our products include delivery in the price. If your order is under £90, a small delivery fee will apply but do not worry this will always be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
- Depending on what you choose at checkout, your order will usually be delivered either the next working day or within 2 working days. For next day delivery please place your order before 2:00pm. Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday only. Some items may take a little longer and if that is the case we will always show the expected delivery time on the product page.
- If your order includes items with different dispatch times we will normally wait and send everything together once all items are in stock. If one of the items is going to take a while we will give you the choice either wait for everything to arrive or let us send the available items now and deliver the rest later. It is up to you.
- We use trusted delivery partners to make sure your order gets to you safely and on time. We use DPD for next working day deliveries and Royal Mail for the 2 day option.
- As soon as your order is on its way we will send you a tracking number by email. If you provide your mobile number at checkout we will also send delivery updates straight to your phone so you can keep an eye on progress.
- If a product is marked as "Dispatched within 3 working days" delivery usually takes around 3 to 5 working days from when your order is placed.
- For customers in Inverness and other parts of the Scottish Highlands deliveries can take up to 2 working days even if you select next day delivery as couriers do not currently offer a guaranteed next day service to those areas.
