DETAILS
A device that allows R/C signals from a traditional receiver (i.e. those using SBUS or PPM) to be converted into CAN protocol messages, which are often used in modern UAV, robotics and industrial systems. This impressive converter bridges older R/C receiver technology with modern, more robust and fault-tolerant CAN bus systems (e.g. UAVCAN or DroneCAN).
The RadioLink RLKA001039 RTC8 encoder for SBUS/PPM to CAN protocol conversion with USB configuration support is a precision-engineered telemetry module designed to bridge legacy RC signal formats with modern CAN-based control systems. Built for UAVs, robotics, smart vehicles, and industrial automation, this compact encoder enables seamless integration of SBUS or PPM signals into CAN protocol environments. Whether you're working with autonomous drones, pilotless vehicles, or embedded robotics, the RLKA001039 offers a reliable and configurable solution for cross-protocol communication. With USB-based configuration, real-time PC visualization, and support for Windows 7 through 10, this encoder delivers both flexibility and control in demanding applications.

How does the RadioLink RLKA001039 support dual signal input?
The RadioLink RLKA001039 telemetry module for UAVs, robotics, and smart vehicles with dual signal input is designed to accept both SBUS and PPM signals, allowing users to connect a wide range of traditional RC receivers. This dual input capability eliminates the need for separate converters or signal adapters, streamlining integration into CAN-based systems. The encoder automatically detects the incoming signal type and initiates conversion without manual intervention, making it ideal for dynamic environments where flexibility and speed are critical.
What makes the CAN protocol output reliable for industrial control?
The RadioLink RLKA001039 CAN encoder for autonomous systems with 5Kbps–1Mbps baud rate and 120Ω termination is built to meet IOS/DIS 11898 CAN-BUS compliance standards, ensuring robust and fault-tolerant communication. The inclusion of a 120Ω jumper-cap termination resistor helps maintain signal integrity across long cable runs and complex network topologies. This makes the encoder suitable for industrial robotics, smart car systems, and UAV platforms where consistent data transmission is essential for safety and performance.
Can the RLKA001039 be configured for custom telemetry pipelines?
Yes. The RTC8 protocol bridge with configurable frame ID, 100fps frame rate, and IOS/DIS 11898 CAN-BUS compliance offers extensive customization options via its USB 2.0 interface. Users can define CAN frame IDs and adjust baud rates to match their specific system requirements. The encoder supports frame rates up to 100fps, allowing for responsive control and real-time telemetry. These features make the RLKA001039 a valuable tool for developers building bespoke control systems or integrating with third-party CAN devices such as DJI gimbals and flight controllers.
How does USB configuration enhance usability?
The SBUS/PPM to CAN encoder with real-time PC visualization, firmware upgradability, and Windows 7–10 support includes a USB 2.0 interface that enables direct connection to a PC for configuration and monitoring. Through the RTC8 App, users can visualize incoming SBUS or PPM signals and observe their conversion into CAN messages in real time. This feature simplifies diagnostics and accelerates deployment, especially in environments where signal validation and protocol alignment are critical. Firmware updates are also handled via USB, ensuring long-term compatibility and feature expansion.
What physical attributes make the RLKA001039 suitable for embedded control?
The RadioLink RLKA001039 with USB 2.0 interface, LED indicators, and 0.04kg shipping weight for embedded control is designed with compactness and portability in mind. Weighing just 0.04kg, the encoder fits easily into embedded systems and control panels without adding bulk. Its footprint supports integration into UAV fuselages, robotic chassis, and smart vehicle dashboards. LED indicators provide immediate visual feedback on signal type and communication status, helping users confirm operational readiness at a glance.
Is the RLKA001039 suitable for UAV and robotics applications?
Absolutely. The RadioLink RLKA001039 RTC8 encoder for SBUS/PPM to CAN protocol conversion with USB configuration support is purpose-built for UAVs, robotics, and smart vehicles that rely on CAN-based control systems. By converting legacy RC signals into modern CAN messages, the encoder enables manual override capabilities, telemetry integration, and cross-platform compatibility. Its support for Windows-based configuration and real-time visualization makes it a practical choice for developers and engineers working in aerial photography, autonomous navigation, and industrial automation.
How does the RLKA001039 simplify cross-protocol integration?
The RadioLink RLKA001039 CB86-Plus charger with 190mm x 105mm footprint, 2.02lbs shipping weight, and black casing is not related to this encoder and should not be confused with the RTC8 module. The RLKA001039 is specifically designed to act as a protocol bridge, converting SBUS or PPM signals into CAN format without loss of quality. This functionality is essential for systems that require legacy RC input but operate on CAN-BUS infrastructure. By supporting configurable parameters and real-time monitoring, the encoder simplifies integration and enhances control fidelity across diverse platforms.
